Dominic Rhodes signed for 2 years
LynchMob23 replied to Nostradumbass's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy scored 9 touchdowns as a backup and knows how to pass protect. Fred can't do it alone while Marshawn is out. -
Hey Astro, I'm seeing on multiple sites that you've said the Bills have offered Peters the contract to be the highest paid LT? What gives?

I believe that's why he got the four game suspension - from the DUI. He had been in the program prior to that I believe in Indy. All negativity aside, I cannot think of ANY of the 32 teams that haven't had a rash of arrests/player trouble. During the season last year Santonio Holmes got busted for weed and admitted to dealing when he was younger. The NFL is littered with troubled and disturbed people who like to hit each other. HARD. Not everyone's going to be well adjusted and the notion of character everyone's espousing isn't the off field as much as the on.

Rhodes got a big-money deal with the Raiders after the Super Bowl and then got cut by the Raiders in a cost-cutting move. The Colts signed him at the time for I think a year, which is why he is a FA now. I don't view this as an indictment of Omon, just that they'd rather go with a trusted vet for pass protection.

Good points - but for me, the thing with Maybin is most scouts say that you can make him what you want him to be - he can hold the weight as a DE, he can play a hybrid DE/OLB, he can be a great Will or Sam OLB. I think he's limited the first year a little, but ultimately this is another Andre Carter, which isn't too shabby.

Quick Shoutouts to Brian Moorman and Drayton Florence's charities that were also honored at the event! -
The one thing about Maybin is that, despite the other PSU guys who got kicked off the team/suspended, he has been known as an all-round character guy. No red flags, no questionable friends. As far as the Pro-Bowl goes, what player at Defensive End could they draft that would wind up to you as a pro bowler in 2009? I don't think 2012 is fair - for Maybin, if he played LB he could make it with luck in 2010 or 2011.

Any info on DTs Maola & Irvin, OC Blake Schlueter?
LynchMob23 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Moala is Ngata's cousin and a pretty good all round DT, who was a bit of an underachiever at USC. Many think his best days are ahead. Irvin's an under the radar guy from Gtech that was pretty good according to some scouts... Schlueter, he's pretty fast and athletic for a 290 pounder, but he as a center is very undersized. May have to move to DL. -

Great collection of Bills highlights

Thanks Promo! -
Josh is definitely someone I wouldn't be surprised that they give a third contract to.

T. Graham's new Peters article
LynchMob23 replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think there are things you can put in place to ensure he's at his best in the regular season - weight limits, work out % at the facility....there's a number of ways they could frame it. The question is, would Peters and his representation allow it? -
Jerry Sullivan to be on Sirius Opening Drive
LynchMob23 replied to LynchMob23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The difference is, a guy like Tim Graham can cover the whole AFC East better than Sullivan does the Bills. At this point in his career, he waits to take a smarmy shot and retreat. Hate on Chris Brown as much as you want, but the guy is doing his job. Sullivan's job is to cover the Bills, not declare himself the voice of the fan. He's not my voice, I can tell you that! -
I'm sure he'll be carping about the lack of character on the team - despite the fact Levy said ad nauseum that character referred to the football character...

Puntastic Easter Sunday...Love it! Hiyooooo. But yeah, I think it's a pretty bad idea to bring Foster in, especially if he starts his fumble-itis...
-
Thanks for the definition. Here is the example for said word: 3rd-and-10, Bills run a draw to either get the first down or just get room for a punt, which is a play done hundreds of times without incident. An innocuous play, rendered horrific by a DeShaun Foster fumble. Thanks though, the alacrity with which you challenged my grasp of the English language kept me on my toes.

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft/...story?year=2009 As Tim mentions http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-7-53/...lot-easier.html It's a great tool to acquire draft information. One note to chew on - we have drafted 3 1st round TEs (73,74,83) at 7, 18 and 12 respectively. Enjoy and Happy Easter!
-
Only problem with Foster is he fumbles and gets hurt. For a guy who backs up, I would hate to see him fumble on an innocuous play.
-
Tim claims the charges are dropped. Boom. Drama over, return all bunched panties to their unbunched position: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4061171

Look! Another Peters thread!

One thing about that "underpaid" contract - at the time he was given that contract, he was an ERFA, which meant they could have sat on him for two more years before getting serious with him. However, they didn't - they gave him a pretty good salary for a starting right tackle (3.75 or something) AND a provision that if he played LT he'd instantly get another 1.25 putting him at 5 mil/year, plus pro bowl incentives, which that year he met. At no point in that do I see that as unfair on undervaluing his talent; to me they accounted for it. -
Typically, disorderly conduct is a catch all charge that usually allows for a quick plea down - depending on the area someone drunk and making a scene, or smoking a small amount of pot, or just being a nuisance can get it.

Per PFT: Bills Shopping Parrish
LynchMob23 replied to TheBuffaloBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Two things: 1. April has said several times (one for me in particular at the local Nike COY clinic) that Roscoe and McKelvin see the field different - McKelvin needs about a second or two to read where the blocks are and where to attack the return while Roscoe just attacks the coverage and forces them to react to him. Both work, but Parrish's works for PR and Leodis moreso for KR. If we're starting Leodis at CB, he'll probably share KR with McGee and we'll let someone else (if Parrish is traded) our PR. Also, wrt Hester, he has been stated as being less effective as a KR/PR now that he's become a full time wideout. 2. This could be a favor to keep one of Drew's guys happy and help the Bills, since we've seemed to be on Team Rosenhaus a lot as of late.... -
The worst mock draft that I've seen yet
LynchMob23 replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No Dean, the inner circle simply grabs their dartboard and chucks it at a DB. Every round. And when they don't get a db, they grab a project they can sell to the team. Why on Earth would they actually mix BPA and need and attempt to hit in several areas per draft? Heresy I say, Heresy! -
