  1. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/29/...-cut-tight-end/ Perhaps we can get him back and use him as our blocking TE this year?
  2. How do you figure with regard to Spencer? He did his job - played well in the rotation and even spelled people at end.

  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBYwRvi4pZA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp5Cqr38zNE...feature=channel I'm sure some of the line fans will love these - discuss!
  5. One thing I can see with the addition of Maybin: we may use the creep on third down as a way to scheme him as the open rusher to the Qb.
  6. Every time I read the reports on these guys one of the first things that comes out is vocal leadership. Especially with Wood - it describes him as someone that on Louisville would get in other linemen's faces and when he talks, they listen. Levitre same thing. Arrington for all of his faults in his career is mentoring (with Poz) Maybin, who has been mentioned as a guy on defense who told the staff this would be his year. Even the DBs are guys who hit, compete and want to play football, not be the sexy cover corner. Byrd has kicked butt in the PAC-10, Harris has been playing linebacker at Safety at OU for years, Harris (USC) has played against Sanchez and company, has competition from the faster freshmen and still started for 4 years. Langster at the worst is a special teamer and wants to make this team. I especially like Levitre and Wood though - those two are just plain nasty. Levitre as Bill said may be more of a technician, but Wood...he's going to jack some guys up.
  7. Here's some quotes courtesy of NFL Draft Scout on them: Wood Levitre
  8. I think Wood will be this year either the RG or C and whatever position he wins, Hangartner will take the other. Levitre just looks like the type of guy on those qb sneaks to tell trent just run behind him and let the carnage happen.
  9. The song from Slumdog is O...Saya by M.I.A I believe.
  10. No motivation. Low risk high reward opportunity. Perhaps they offered him after we picked? Or maybe 2010 #6 can get it done.
  11. For Nelson, it'll be easier because he can go up the seam and/or do a few drag routes and some y-open option type routes. He won't be running the crazy stuff I don't think. Heck, he could do a ton of TE screens too...
  12. Hopefully they have a few guys coming down the pike at UDFA that aren't dbs, cuz I got nothing.
  13. I think with Byrd being flexible we also can interchange him with Whitner more either in the box, as the slot guy and as the deep safety - no problems with that. If anything, he may eliminate more guys from having a job and lead to their being cut/traded.
  14. To be fair, Ingram is one of the best in college, so if they can use him, more power to them - these late picks are to get guys you don't want to have to bid for in UDFA
  15. I'm not talking about last year - I'm talking about this year and the picks we made to do just that. But y'all continue whining, nothing can be done to change it.
  16. Actually, of the dbs, 3 have been known to get knicked and if he can continue to show the ability to tackle and jump routes, he can continue to push Youboty (who is in contract year), Florence and Corner. Competition is never bad. Granted it'd be good to have that in DT as well, but when you add in Denney as a swing DE/DT and the amount of "Creep" we'll be able to use with a guy like Maybin, we have a solid rotation. And Irwin went off the board, most likely killing our desire to take a DT.
  17. 2 of Parcells first three picks this year were dbs, then a gimmicky qb to run the wildcat. One Corner in the sixth from USC (who may have a thing or two on a few Sanchez tells) won't end the commitment to some grinders on the Bills side. Yeesh.
  18. At this point, what defensive tackle has gone will be more of a "magic bullet" than McCargo living up to potential or the linebackers adding a rush threat? Anyone else left is undersized, which would instantly be reviled too. There is another round and a slew of UDFAs to bring in.
  19. First you were happy with the picks and now because of a guy that at the worst pushes another DB off the roster so that he can be physical *even* from the "little guy position"? Who else could we take to fill at that would guarantee that position is more physical in round 6 than Harris?
  20. Right now on the roster, we have: 11 Linebackers 7 Corners (including Harris) 9 Defensive Ends 6 Safeties 5 Running Backs 11 Wide Receivers 12 Offensive Linemen 4 Defensive Tackles So yeah, we got a ton of people - but some of these guys are just there for competition and to keep starters healthy during camp. Cary Harris in the 6th round is not the end of the world.
  21. Vaughn Martin went to SD in the 5th round.
  22. Played safety until an injury this year, where they had told him ahead of time he'd be a LB. Solid ST and LB competition.
