  1. Don't forget to take into account the actions, magical and otherwise, intentional and mistaken, conscious and unconscious, of every living and inanimate being, each in some fashion metaphysically connected, not excepting entanglement that can leap across galaxies. It's quite difficult to get correct, but certainly, your every action, down to the least physical or mental fluctuation, will impact the game meaningfully. If the Bills lose, it will be entirely your fault.
  2. It's deplorable behavior. Of course, there have been other sporting events involving violence and accident that were horrific. None of that changes the savagery of soul exhibited. When the coarse and inappropriate becomes indicative of common feeling, your society is in a feral state. The Chicago broadcaster expressed humane revulsion. No one wants the mirror of his city to show that kind of emotional and moral deficit.
  3. The lowest common denominator will not yield insight into the genius of a people.
  4. I don't find him hilarious, and some of what is supposedly funny seems distasteful to me.
  5. It's not, but I still think it is bad juju and not the best form.
  6. I'd like to laugh. I'm a Dawgs' fan, but I feel bad for @BillfromNYC
  7. Exactly right. War frog . . . très amusant.
  8. I agree with your characterization, but I like representing Midwest-rust belt against the East Coast folks.
  9. You should give a gander to Iain McGilchrist's work on right vs left brain tendencies. Wright is very left-brain. Never wrong, and never embarrassed by contrary facts.
  10. They're not talking about it, because the likelihood of a tie is about the same as flipping a coin and having it land on its side.
  11. It would be absolutely criminal not to provide Josh Allen with real quality at the wr position from this draft. Too much talent at a premium position not to take advantage by grabbing more than one, and utterly foolish to cheap out by always trying to fill it with mid-round picks or marginal free agents.
  12. Rd 2 Ladd McConkey -- he's going to be a good one.
  13. Chiefs are sitting him. They are locked into the #3 seed.
  14. I felt a lot better in the late 80's/early 90's. Now I really am running on fumes.
  15. I am ambivalent. I think he is good, not great. He makes exasperating choices at times, and I hate the defensive time outs that rarely end well. There are too many times when the team comes out flat. It is inexplicable. Nonetheless, it's hard to find good coaches, and the players respect him and like him. (I discount the disaffected. They are a minority, and you will always find those.) So those who are in a hurry to get rid of him are short-sighted, if they presume an upgrade. It's a gamble. Personally, I'd prefer an offensive-minded specialist, because that is generally where the modern game is. I want someone who can get the best out of Josh Allen, and who will prioritize personnel on that side of the ball. It shouldn't be a revelation that we should be investing high level picks on WR for Josh Allen's prime years, or if not, or in combination, bringing in higher quality free agent receivers. Overall, I hope McDermott succeeds. I like him as a person, and it would be great if somehow the end result of this ridiculous roller-coaster of a season is a Super Bowl. If it doesn't come close to that, I would at least think about alternatives, but I don't expect Pegula to make a move short of open rebellion from the franchise qb.
  16. Stinger is probably the best case for that injury.
  17. He's an interesting choice. Pegula doesn't have the imagination to entertain it, and he's not going to move off McDermott unless he is going to lose Josh Allen by sticking with him.
  18. That would be unusual restraint, given that every game since the Philly loss has been essentially a playoff game. I hope there are more tricks in the bag, but the deficiencies of the WR room are not going to be fixed this year, though if injury is playing a role in Diggs current woes, one hopes he heals enough to become closer to his previous norm.
  19. You can't really get a read on what Brady would be as an OC, since he is going to have to work with what Dorsey installed. There's also the problem of our subpar WR room, which any coordinator would have to deal with. Beane needs to make upgrading WR talent priority number 1, and 2, and maybe 3, though no doubt S and youth on the DL will continue to be the predilection of this regime (those are concerns.) If we beat Miami and make an extended run for the SB, that will no doubt weigh in his favor. Short of a SB victory, which would assure his position, I hope there is a genuine process of looking at qualified candidates.
  20. So, McD should call time outs to stop his OC from making a foolish choice. His defensive TOs OTOH are usually a signal to the opposing OC that whatever he plans on doing, it's likely to result in points or at least a first down.
  21. Agree with most of this, though I think Rousseau is okay for late first round investment. They need multiple early picks at wr, and they need to hit on them. Lot of us were calling for Metcalf when he was on the board. If OBD doesn't get the message at this point, it's beyond dim. For now, the only answer is scheme guys open and win ugly. (And they should feature Kincaid, Shakir, Cook, and Playoff Lenny. No confidence in the wr room.)
