  1. Get superlative talent at a premium position, especially the position that multiplies the effectiveness of your generational talent at QB who has yet to get a ring, on rookie contracts? No, not at all. Let's go DL, S, DL, because it's a deep draft, and the offense is pretty good. How are we going to stop Pat Mahomes?
  2. He won't go that high. We need draft picks. I can see a smaller jump to secure someone if they have a player a tier above still available.
  3. I hear you. We can do both, and twice in the first four rounds is about right.
  4. I dunno, maybe if you close your eyes it won't happen.
  5. So sad, there's a lot of WR talent. Naturally, they won't all hit, but you're still not going to get DL in the first.
  6. I think Billsfan2313 might be a Chiefs' fan.
  7. One thing is for certain. The quality of this draft at WR is like night and day from last year. Beane needs to get two quality WRs out of this draft.
  8. Well, he's a super fast feather. But damn.
  9. Ahh, Beane likes traits. I think he wants a big X. Mitchell, Legette, Thomas, and Coleman check that box. To repeat what I wrote earlier, Greg Cosell is one of the most astute football minds. I think he's especially good on WR. He watched the same tape, and came away very impressed with Mitchell. Legette is going to be good, imo. I'm not one of those who would be super angry if they took McConkey, because he's right at the top of my list for folks I like in this draft. I don't think it would be the right move, but that's because I think we need to prioritize a different kind of receiver. All the same, in truth, if McConkey ends up on the Bills, I'm buying his jersey.
  10. Yes, I've said in various threads that he is a late first round talent. I will absolutely hate it if he ends up in KC.
  11. No, I was mainly just joking. Both of you are must read for me, and I'm sure you both know a lot more about football than I do. I've just been watching since I was a lad, and now I'm pretty old, so I figure that counts for something.
  12. I don't think it's great for the board, you and Gunner agreeing so much. Do you prefer Coleman or Legette at #28? I'll hang up and listen.
  13. To be clear, I think McConkey is a late first round talent. He's one of my favorite players in the draft. He sure as hell could blow up in KC, and I would hate to see a fella I really like playing for that outfit. But for the Bills, we need that big X first and foremost. You shut up.
  14. I agree entirely. I've already said as much maybe twice in the last thirty minutes, and previously. McConkey would be great as a second receiver, if you had that luxury and draft position to make it happen. We need a big X at #28, and I think at least one of Mitchell, Legette, Thomas, okay, and maybe Coleman will be there.
  15. He can, imo, but I know lots of folks doubt it.
  16. There's no green check mark laughing emoji hybrid . . .
  17. The best DTs that will go in the first play 3T, the same position Ed does. Sweat is not a first rounder. Latu will be gone before #28. The only dumb thing that could muck it up is taking Chop Robinson, which might happen. It would be dumb, but I don't discount the possibility.
  18. Dammit. I can't really be rational about my favorites. I think they need to get a big X. It has to be Thomas, Mitchell, or Legette at #28. (Or maybe Coleman -- don't want to upset @HappyDays). But McConkey has late first talent. Folks can argue all they like, I won't budge. It's all part of the master plan.
  19. I love McConkey. I'm a UGA fan (I live just outside of Athens.) He's easily one of my favorite players in the draft. He'd need to be the second receiver we take, unfortunately, and he'll be gone way before #60. Not to mention some folks here would go apoplectic if we double dipped on receiver the first two rounds. (And to be fair, they'd probably be right about that.)
  20. Greg Cosell watched the same tape, and came to different conclusions. He's ahead of Coleman for me. I liked Mitchell before the Combine. I liked him when he was at UGA, for that matter. He's a big game player, and we could use that.
  21. Thomas, Mitchell, Legette -- Bills have to land one of them in the first. I don't want to hear about Chop Robinson. Get Josh WR talent and start seeing other teams scared to play us because they can't stop us. Miami does that with Tua at QB, and some folks here think it's fine to waste Josh Allen on mid-round WRs and modest free agents. It's criminal neglect. Thankfully, this is the draft to make up for it.
  22. I agree on McConkey. I'd love him as a second receiver in this draft, but I don't see him going later than early second. Legette and Mitchell ought to be at the top of our list for WR at #28, but I think you probably have to trade up if you want Mitchell now.
  23. I agree it's not everything, but Mitchell has excellent traits. The knock on him was speed, though I always felt he was faster than folks gave him credit for.
  24. Yeah, he's got great hands and plays big in big games. Cosell really likes him. We're going to have to trade up from #28 to get him. I'll blow a gasket if the Chiefs trade up ahead of us and grab him.
