Marvin Harrison Jr wants to be a Bill

No, you're right, of course. I was just poking fun. -

Dude, it's posts like this that make me feel sorry for Warriorspikes51. You're very rational, but there's just no magic in your soul. -

Don't know what you paid to get up to #9, but I'll take it.

Pass rusher. A huge need not being talked about enough
Dr. Who replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
They did draft Kincaid last year. And they cut a lot of veteran locker room guys with a necessary ruthlessness. That might be too strong a word, but I am hoping it signals the possibility for change. They've also been meeting with a lot of top WR candidates for the draft. Maybe it's more of the same, and I'll be unhappy about it -- maybe not as angry as you, I dunno. Right now, I'm going to believe that Beane may be shifting course, partly because I don't relish despair and anger, and I don't feel utterly compelled to take as inevitability the choice many of us nonetheless fear is all too possible. -

I can only say I hope Beane is not metaphysically tied to the Carolina model. He should see it isn't sufficient, and it sure didn't age well for Cam. -

Is that a function of evaluation, or the attempt to build a team with depth, or both? I think they are too risk averse, but where to draw the line and avoid crazy gambling might not be easy, and they got stung with the Von Miller shot. I hope it doesn't stop them from being open to creative ways to get that higher caliber athlete, whether that be WR (my preference) or DL. And yes, I wouldn't rule out OL. -
I don't know anything about him, but Cornelius Johnson, the Michigan WR is the fella I'd like to pick up late.

This is page 10 of a thread started on Wednesday. I didn't call you out personally. I just commented that no one appears to have remarked on it being a bad call when he was brought in. Folks offer opinions all the time. There's a lengthy thread about a WR5 special teams player who hates cats and dislikes soup.

I mostly agree. I think you are correct, actually, but I am inclined to gamble on Thomas over Odunze because of the speed. I know he is a one-trick pony right now, but it's a damn fine trick, and I believe there is lots of room to grow. -

I've been hoping for a big X, but if Nabers is available there, push all your chips in. It wouldn't be a total shock if Nabers is the first WR off the board. -
Is drafting Diggs replacement a priority in this draft?
Dr. Who replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I generally agree with your WR assessments. Thomas will go in the mid to late teens, most likely. You'd have to move up to get him, and the cost would be high. Mitchell might be there, but I think you may have to move up some to secure him as well. I'm pretty sure Legette will be there as late as the early second, but I'm not absolutely certain. He's one of those I think may actually be higher on teams' draft boards than folks surmise. -

The chart I looked at has #28 worth 660 points. #10 is 1300 and # 15 is 1050. My guess is your price might get you #10, but I suppose it depends on the negotiators and how desperate the team is to move up. -

That was an outrageously low pay for KC to move up, for Mahomes yet. No one's going to reciprocate for the Bills' try to move up, and this time the cost would be for a top 5 pick. -

I'd be willing to be a little reckless to make it happen, but I'm afraid it might require much more than sustainable crazy to grab the pick. You're probably talking #28, #60, and next year's first and second, plus. -

Coleman isn't anywhere near Thomas' speed. -

Outside of any metrics, Diggs was not a factor the second half of last year. Maybe he was injured, and surely, we didn't have an X to take pressure off of him, but he wasn't actually commanding double coverage. He isn't a top 5 WR now. Greg Cosell, who I like as an analyst, says he isn't a WR1 anymore. Maybe he bounces back, but I don't think it's realistic to expect the WR of three years ago. -
The 2025 first gets you #41 and #88? I thought the rule of thumb is that you mark down a round on the draft chart for the following year, but obviously, a first rounder has value. That's interesting, in any event. I give you credit for creative thinking. Burton is rising, so #60 might be right. I'd rather take Legette if he happened to still be there, and I like Polk at #60, actually. I think it's more likely Beane trades up for a WR in the mid-first, and holds onto his 2025 first. I'd be surprised if he traded it.

Even if you could find a GM willing to trade you a WR1, if it's an established player, you are talking about a large contract coming in. And then, of course, a shorter shelf life. Diggs was an unusual case, in any event, and the cost was a first round draft choice. Why not spend it on a rookie WR with potential? Maybe you think Minnesota wants to try and repeat the Diggs trade, and send us Justin Jefferson . . . -

Not on a rookie contract. If you hit on a WR1 in the first, you have 25 to 30 million to spend somewhere else in roster construction. And no one is trading you a ready made WR1. -
