I love Roquan. We should be thinking about Sony Michel in the second round. He is perfect to groom behind Shady.

Bills 1st round picks currently sit at #21 and #25

I'm a UGA fan, so I'm really conflicted about the game. It's impossible, but if we could somehow end up drafting Mayfield and Roquan Smith, this team would start to be a monster. I am not really down on Zay, just unsure. I am actually optimistic your assessment may be correct. I would grab Allen if he falls to us. I wouldn't trade up. Just really like Mayfield. I think the folks who see Johnny Football 2.0 are just way off, but I'm no expert. Not crazy about any of the Minnesota qbs. If we took Allen in the first, I'd want to get a fella like Alex Smith; not sure he'd like it after playing bridge qb for Mahomes. -

They did draft well (Zay Jones will determine how well, imo.) We were very fortunate this year and the AFC is filled with weak teams. I am pleased we are in the playoffs, but if Beane and McD want to make a habit of it, franchise qb has to be the priority. We need considerable help elsewhere, but nothing trumps qb. You can argue Cousins is an above average alternative to the draft. I would at least inquire about Andrew Luck. I am not terribly keen on Cousins or Alex Smith, but it's a feasible stategy if you don't have to trade a lot of draft capital to get them. Rosen and Darnold will cost too much to move up. Mayfield might cost too much, but he's the guy I like at the position outside of the top two. Sony Michel and Nick Chubb will be available in the second, maybe third round at rb, in addition to Love and Penny. -
An Offseason That Takes Us To The Next Level

A lot of thought put into the OP. Thanks. Personally, if it played out so that it was possible, I'd rather draft Mayfield and Roquan Smith in the first. Not sure what OTs are likely to be available in free agency, but if you don't sign Cousins, there ought to be enough to shore up OL and DL with a combination of draft and FA. -
They do, but the talking heads on ESPN and NFL Network have yet to get the memo.

Apparently that tweet from Palazzolo was a joke and folks took it seriously. Yolo made a good point the other day, I thought. Compare how Darnold held up against Ohio St. and Mayfield. Of course, evaluation is not that simple. Still think Mayfield is the real deal. I'm an UGA fan, though, so I will be conflicted tomorrow. Dream draft scenario for me is Mayfield and Roquan Smith in the first.

He's a special player. Could be drafted top three.

What QB do you want to draft.

Coach McDermott, shouldn't you be preparing for the Miami game? -
Now Darnold and Rosen will start getting scratchy throats because Cleveland . . .

Well, I am a big Mayfield fan. Skeptics think his game won't translate to the NFL. I think the Johnny Football comparisons are lazy and almost totally wrong. When all is said and done, I suspect you have to trade up to get Mayfield. We can wait if we want Rudolph (I am not keen on the fella, so that is who we probably end up with.)

Wouldn't mind him back in Buffalo at the right price if we can get a qb that will throw to wide receivers.

Daryl Talley definitely wore that Spiderman long sleeved thing when it got cold. Didn't think it meant he was soft. It was cool.

NFL.com: Gregg Rosenthal's QB Index

This is a pretty ridiculous investment of time in a petty issue. For what it's worth (probably not much) I've watched quite a bit of the Vikings. When I was a kid, Vikes were my number two team because I liked Fran Tarkenton and purple and Vikings. So, I still watch them with some remnant nostalgia. Keenum benefits from a superior defense and he's having one of those years where the breaks go mostly one way for a mediocre qb. Neither he nor Taylor is a long-term solution to a team looking for a franchise qb. -
I think the fella is amusing. Rational argumentation is asking for too much.

Love meatball, but this is the right plan.

I really don't care if its fan fiction or not. I like to see what DD comes up with, so lay off the fella folks.

I know. I promised a pal on this site to stay out of political conversation. Every once in a while, I get drawn in at the edges. As you know, soft totalitarianism works by ostracizing those who engage in speech outside of strictly enforced "tolerance." Ironically, there's more evidence Russians were helping the gal that got them all that Uranium.

Fine. I am not a defender of Taylor, nor do I think the season comes down to the Chargers game. If you are truly a good team, you aren't in a position where a single game determines your destiny. As is, we were lucky to win a number of games (Atlanta, for instance, lost Julio Jones for the second half and Ryan was inconsistent, playcalling rather dumb for the Falcons at the end.) Imo, we're not a very good team and are fortunate to be even in the hunt. We would be even more fortunate if we had a terrible record and a shot at Darnold or Rosen.

It was a strange decision. Tyrod had not played well the preceding game, but NP was clearly in over his head. I heard a rumor that Dennison was pushing for Peterman. No idea if true, but I have little confidence this crew knows what it is doing, especially with regards to the offensive side of the ball. I hope we have a new O-line coach and OC and qb . . . and a RT since DD will probably be playing LT and a real #2 rb . . . etc., etc.

A Trigger Man is All The Bills Need !!

We clearly need a lot more than a franchise qb, but we won't be consistently good until we get one. While qb has to be the priority, one can find significant holes at nearly every position. The coaching staff has question marks and until the front office shows astute judgment in turning draft picks into superlative players to replace the talented players that did not fit the program (MD, Sammy, etc.) the GM is a question mark as well. I see this team as actually what one would expect from a veteran team of try hard fellas, especially in a down year for the AFC. I don't see a basis for confidence the team is close to being very good. They might, but all the question marks have to turn out well. I'd say the odds are against it, but what can one do? Have to hope for the best. -
OTOH, it's a special sort of pathetic that trolls folks on Christmas.
