Yannick Ngakoue accuses Incognito of racial slurs

Well, I assumed that was hyperbole. If meant seriously, it's certainly deplorable. -

You are assuming a fair amount based on a quick comment. I am a conservative, but more influenced by European thought. I am not a gun-toting Trump voter, for instance. I have a PhD in the humanities. I speak from experience. If one espouses proclivities for traditional Western culture (Homer and the Bible,) one will find it almost impossible to find an academic position. Progressive ideology has a stranglehold nearly everywhere from elite institutions to community colleges. -

Schools and universities are designed to create them. Ivy League schools take your little darlings and turn them into folks who think correctly, don't you know? -

They need to improve both OC and QB. Don't want Rico developing the new fella that will hopefully develop into a franchise qb. -
ESPN predicts Alex Smith as starting Bills QB in 2018.

I know you won't agree with this , but we should draft Baker Mayfield and Mark Andrews. They've already got a good chemistry going. -
2017 Draft Trade with 2018 Value Points
Dr. Who replied to coldstorage5's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Mahomes ends up a franchise qb, we lose the trade, no matter how good we choose at other positions -- unless we get our own franchise qb. However, given the glut of teams seeking qb this year, it will likely cost more draft capital to get a qb than last year. And it's not just about Mahomes, but Watson as well, who was available at #10. -
I was referring to the hypothetical where the Bills crush the Pats* -- sorry to mix up mythologies.

Appreciate the amity. Must say, I am surprised empty seats have internet access and reasonable grammar. On the other hand, rationality is a bit suspect. Crushing the evil empire runs to the hyperbolic in expectations.

Yeah, I think Mayfield demonstrates leadership often and this is missed by his detractors apparently. I am hoping we trade up to get him, because I don't think he will fall to us. There's no doubt that we have numerous holes to fill. I don't think many folks actually believe franchise qb alone is needed. There has to be a prudential calculation as to what price is too much to move up, but I'll be disappointed if we aren't aggressive in filling the position.

Lamar Jackson Declares for the 2018 NFL Draft
Dr. Who replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
I think his ceiling is higher than Tyrod's if he reaches it, but I doubt he is top five of qbs Bills would be looking at. -
We generally agree, John. But as you know, acquiring a franchise qb is paramount for long-term success. Here's my concern. My top three qbs in the draft right now are Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield. Unlikely we will be in a position to trade up for the first two and I wonder if McD will see past Mayfield's immaturity or if he will conclude it is character issues and pass. I think the latter is a misread, though the fellas who interpret Mayfield as Johnny Football 2.0 concur. In any event, they will have to trade up for qb. If they wait for the draft to come to them, you are looking at the fourth or fifth best available given how many teams are looking for qb this year.
-
I would spend a lot to trade up for Rosen, quite a bit for Darnold, actually quite a bit for Mayfield. Only Mayfield is going to be potentially within reach. I would not trade up for anyone else. A second rounder for Alex Smith, okay, if you also draft a young qb to groom with real upside. If you get Smith, I can see taking a shot with Jackson. Rudolph is my least favorite of the top fellas, so I rather expect he is who we choose. I agree with those who think Cousins will not play up to his price tag. I pushed for Mahomes and Watson last year and lots of fellas were scoffing and talking about the 2018 qb class. Now that it's here, the qb needy teams are multiplying and we're going to have to spend the draft capital we picked up to get someone no better than equal to what we could have had at #10 last year. (Not dismissing how good a player Tre White is, but really, think how happy SF is right now. You get the franchise qb, the whole team thrives. Unless you're the Colts and can't put an oline together.)

He should bank his money and be happy to walk again. -

Yes, but choosing and availability are equally important. Not sure we can get the fella we want. Seems to me we better hope there are at least three potential franchise qbs in the draft. -

Who is your current third and fourth best qb? What would you be prepared to trade to secure them? I like Mayfield third best, but he's not tall and has maturity issues. Allen has questions about accuracy and level of competition. Rudolph doesn't impress me that much, but I'm no expert. I kinda think he might be there without a trade up. -

If your criteria is a sure thing, only God can trade up. Risk is inherent in drafting any player. I would absolutely trade up for Rosen or Darnold, but I can't see either the hapless Browns or the Giants trading out. After that, there are more question marks, so I think you have to make a prudential decision regarding how much one is willing to pay to secure the next best qb. If it's too much, I suppose you wait it out and take bpa, qb when it makes sense, but we sure need a franchise qb. -
Elway: Upgrading QB is the Broncos' Top Goal
Dr. Who replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean the folks who actually watch all the games? And most people here do not say Tyrod sucks. They think he is mediocre on a good day and want better, as they should. -
Yep. Now it's boring. Thread needs to be closed.

Really? I'm an UGA fan so I don't pretend to be unbiased. Still, I'll take Chubb, Michel, and Swift over Bama backs. The Georgia oline is solid for the most part. We'll see.

Bowl season is about over, who do ya like for the Bills.
Dr. Who replied to mob16151's topic in College Football
I would like Mayfield and Roquan Smith. There is no way Smith is available where we pick and I doubt Mayfield slides that far, but I suppose it is possible, especially if he's significantly below 6'.
