I was trying to watch the video and keep track of the time. No need. Just amazing. -
I like your posts. Insightful and well-written.

RD 6, 187 Ray-Ray McCloud - WR Clemson

His name is Equanimeous, c'mon. -
I predict the BILLS 5th round pick will be.........
Dr. Who replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love both picks. Please be right. -
I think Josh Allen is potentially the best of all of them. It's a risk and he may not reach his potential. Josh Rosen is more polished and tough, but he has poor pocket awareness and durability concerns. Pretty sure Rosen has gotten superior coaching over the years. They could both end up good qbs . . .
-
I think that's overly optimistic. WR is still a big area of need, though OL really needs to be addressed.
-
Really like St. Brown, but he won't last to 96.

Opinions on why we passed on Rosen?
Dr. Who replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As others have suggested, durability was likely the most significant concern with Rosen, but the OP implicitly presupposes that choosing Allen was more a function of not choosing Rosen. Perhaps Beane actually thinks Allen will end up being the better qb or at least the better fit for Buffalo. -
His opinion doesn't mean much, but neither does the plethora of bellyaching fans hating the pick determine whether or not Allen succeeds.

Poll: Josh Allen Approval Rating
Dr. Who replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Third option is really the only one that isn't presumptuous. How about a fourth option? I approve because I trust Beane and McDermott aren't fools and don't want to sabotage their careers. Or, I approve because the past failures of different qbs don't impact the fate of Josh Allen, who by all accounts is a talented, hardworking kid? Or, I don't have an opinion at this point other than fans ought to start acting with common courtesy and stop bellyaching over the pick, etc. etc. -
Well, I think that's likely, actually. At least he'll know who the few discerning fans are
-
That may very well be true, but why not they just preferred Allen because long-term they thought he would be the better qb and a better fit for Buffalo?
-
If we had taken Rosen, these sudden advocates for plugging holes would be completely mum.

This kid has everything you want in a QB

In another thread, Horned Dogs suggested bringing in Jordan Palmer full time to work with him. That sounds like a good idea to me. -
I encourage everyone to GET ON BOARD the train
Dr. Who replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree it's not the ideal situation to redshirt Allen. They'll have to show more courage if McCarron struggles. Better to struggle for a year and let Allen learn at the correct pace, if that's what is needed. Either Beane is a man of principle or not. I think he chose Allen out of conviction. If it was capitulating to folks without football acumen, we are in trouble. -

I live in Atlanta. Have an old friend from Batavia I met long ago when we were both grad students at UCLA. He calls me every year to talk about he Bills' first round pick(s) and was somewhat hoping for Rosen, particularly given the school connection. Unlike our board, he was also happy to get Allen. I like Allen, liked him second to Darnold for a while now. So I was gratified at the selection and laughed out loud, imagining the reaction on here. Folks need to support the player and the team. If the pick makes you so mad you walk away, you're not much of a fan, imo. If you want to vent and blow off steam for awhile, that's fine, but come back and root for these young men to excel. I can't prove this, of course, but I called the trade up for Edmunds while I was chatting with my pal. As HD pointed out, two picks that count on the ability of the coaching staff and the Process to develop high potential fellas. I hope they are patient with Allen and allow him a Mahomes red shirt year if necessary. Beane showed courage sticking to his convictions. Good for him and I think really good for Buffalo. -
Thank you Brandon Beane, Sean, and OBD

Well, I also happen to agree with that. I would be happy to get Allen, though that is an unpopular opinion here. -
