  1. I think the relative odds here are about right. I suspect we can trade up to six or so, thus I think the odds of getting Mayfield are actually somewhat higher.
  2. If you're talking qb, those fellas are very rare and go first overall when available.
  3. Are we certain Broncos pass on qb? I think it likely, but not certain.
  4. I'm not either. Sure hope they are open to a trade.
  5. I like Allen. He's a risk, but part of my reticence on Allen was rumors I read that he was not a sharp cookie. 37 on the Wunderlic does not measure football IQ, but I surmise he is smart enough to learn from his mistakes. Trouble is, I think you have to trade up to 2 to get him and I have a feeling the Giants aren't trading out. Indeed, they may like Allen for themselves if they are inclined to take a qb and let him learn for a year or so. It's an outlier year for qb, so you better work a trade up if you don't want to take a flier on Jackson or Rudolph.
  6. You can probably get him at 22, but it's unwarranted hyperbole to characterize the desire for a franchise qb after 25 years of mediocrity or worse as hysteria.
  7. If they miss out on one of the top four, this draft is a fail.
  8. I think these are genuine concerns. OTOH, I am upgrading Allen some.
  9. I thought some folks were claiming Allen was a dim bulb. 13 is really too low, imo.
  10. I like DJ Chark, but he's probably a 2nd round grade. I also like E. St. Brown; harder to predict when he will be selected.
  11. Sure hope they have some draft capital left after trading up for qb to address lb and wr at minimum.
  12. I dunno. I think you need to drink some green tea or something. Too long before the draft to be this angst-ridden.
  13. Honestly, you are paranoid on this matter. And the Broncos aren't taking the reindeer at five, but I'd be fine with it if they did.
  14. I kinda like the idea that we could start on our 25 and teams couldn't rule out the qb getting the ball to the goal line.
  15. I think some rational efforts to protect the athletes are fine, but there's no doubt that the prevailing sensibility is just as much a cultural product of a particular ethos promoted by universities and elite culture as it is a determination of science. Regardless, I fear it is a losing cause. One will be treated as a regrettable dinosaur addicted to gratutious and dangerous displays of machismo.
  16. Yes, this is very reasonable. Beane seems like a pretty even-tempered fella, so it might work out that way. Not everything in the draft is reasonable, though.
  17. Crazy, but it kinda makes sense. Bills would be the talk of the draft, that's for sure.
  18. Yeah, that is possible, I think. Comes down to if you think the fella is going to continue to be a prima donna semi-basket case. If you think you can sign him long-term and manage the personality, it's very tempting, especially if you add the high end qb.
  19. It would have to be 22 and the Eagles pick, imo. Probably say goodbye to moving up for a qb. Guy is a very talented headcase and will be expensive to keep.
