  1. Of course, as Dostoevsky pointed out, sometimes it is the eccentric individual who speaks truth to a mad society, something along the lines of Yeats' Crazy Jane poems.
  2. Oh, c'mon. If you were the Browns' GM, you'd trade us the 1st pick for peanuts
  3. Actually trading up for Rudolph would be the final indignity. I'd be as angry as Inigo looking for the six-fingered patricide.
  4. You're right, but it's possible the Giants decide to take a qb at 2 and the Broncos take a qb at 5. I don't think it's likely, but it's also not implausible. Lots of draft capital, but maybe no trade partner.
  5. I just hope they can get to 5. Otherwise, they might get frozen out on the top qbs.
  6. Yeah, they might not have a choice. I just don't have a high opinion of Rudolph, sorry.
  7. Translation: You think they will take Allen if they trade up to 2. I would be one of the few not dismayed by it, though Darnold is my first choice.
  8. I think that is a good guess as to what will ultimately happen. I will be pleased with it, though Rosen is not my favorite.
  9. I like Allen, so there are 4 guys that have to go before desperation time for me. I'm not convinced qb is a lock for Giants and Broncos. Taking Rudolph at 12 or 22 is taking a third round qb in the 1st, imo. I don't think Beane is that dim. Wait on Luke Falk, Mike White or Lauletta if you're going that route. Jackson is a risky pick, but he has a high ceiling at least. Personally, I don't think 2, 4, 5, or 6 are locked down yet, so I'm not giving up hope.
  10. Yeah, I'd rather have 6 in my pocket. If a higher pick opens up, you can consider it. At least at 6, the likelihood of getting one of the top 4 is reasonably good.
  11. I doubt it, but if Lamar is their #1, they can stick at 12 and get him. Lots of draft capital to fill out the roster in that case. Imo, Lamar is the plan B if they can't get one of the top 4. It might work out for them if they are forced to go to plan B. Not my first choice, but I don't hate it.
  12. I'll recommend some older works. Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast trilogy peters out towards the end (Peake was suffering from a degenerative disease.) Nonetheless, it evokes a dark world of Gothic gloom and dead ritual, along with poignant, perhaps Dickensian sentiment that some may find bathetic. I am a big fan of R.A. Lafferty. Past Master, Fourth Mansions, and Arrive at Easterwine are three of his better sci-fi offerings. His short story collection, Ninety-nine Grandmothers is also excellent. Unfortunately, all these works are out of print. The novels I mentioned are available at reasonable prices. Lafferty's Okla Hannali is still in print;. A tall tale history of a Choctaw Mingo (natural lord,) it is at times both hilarious and harrowing.
  13. Articluate as always, John C. Giants trading out or at least not taking a qb will be key to Bills having a reasonable shot at acquiring one of the top 4.
  14. My order is not particularly popular with this board: I like Darnold, Allen, Mayfield, Rosen, but I like all four. My worry is the Giants decide to pick a qb and we are left scrambling for whoever is left after the Jets' choice.
  15. That would make the most sense. It is also patently the worst thing that could happen for the Bills. One would have to scramble and probably pay a fortune to get the fourth qb off the board.
  16. I hope they trade out of it. We are the most logical trade partner.
  17. What do the Giants do? Pick Chubb, a qb, trade out? I can't see Nelson at 2. To be clear, I would not take Barkley at 2.
  18. Yeah, Gugny being a fan has held us back immensely
  19. Just as lazy as the Mayfield is Johnny Football 2.0 comparisons. Jackson has a considerably higher ceiling than Tyrod. Whether he reaches it or not is another issue.
