  1. Why are you picking on a fella with no eyes? It's amazing that he can participate on an internet message board.
  2. The most unbreakable prison is the one you build with your own soul.
  3. You should never, ever takes the least opportunity to be at all happy or guardedly optimistic because you might be disappointed or proven wrong. Only after a Buffalo Bills SB victory is it metaphysically possible to consider being optimistic, but things will only get worse after that and besides, we are all mortal, so how good could it be? To some up, don't be hopeful and don't be happy no matter what.
  4. He's a writer who wants to share the ambiance as much as "information." It's more literary, I suppose. To each his own. I don't want to read that sort of thing exclusively, but I enjoy Astro's style.
  5. Folks talk about Darnold's creativity when the pocket breaks down. Allen appears to have creativity that is only available to someone gifted with exceptional arm talent. He can simply imagine scenarios ordinary qbs can't even think about. Intelligence, creativity, character, and coachability -- there's a good chance he is going to be very good.
  6. Random observations: TE position is really up in the air. Are Mike Love or Ike Boettger anywhere close to blue? Still have Ray-Ray in the red? I think if he continues to exhibit chemistry with Allen, they will find a way to keep him.
  7. Both of you fellas are good posters. You're nitpicking and getting all upset about not much, imo. In general, I agree with John C that Allen's game could very well be exceptional and still be unlikely to match Brees and Brady for accuracy. I agree with Shaw one cannot make an apodictic statement to that effect. Unlikely is not impossible. Now please stop arguing.
  8. Way too early for this, though if Rosen had played lights out, Scorp and a few others would be relentlessly crowing, so thanks Josh Rosen for being average. Personally, I think all of the top four have a chance to be good qbs. The main thing from the Bills' perspective is that Josh Allen so far looks like a plausible franchise qb down the line. If he hits his ceiling, he will be the best of the bunch because no one can match his superlative physical gifts.
  9. As the noted philosopher William Desmond explains, reality requires finesse beyond geometry. The pure numbers folks just don't get that part of the Process?
  10. This explains everything. Pats*** were mistakenly sent defective footballs from Wilson for several years.
  11. That level of discernment requires a metric outside a simple-minded reduction to analytics that is basically completion percentage with no interest in context.
  12. Agreed. And Transplant was so against Allen before the draft. Open mind is a good thing, folks. And by paying what they did, you mean #12 and two second round picks. That's not mortgaging the future. It's a bargain if he's a franchise qb. Favre and Elway were big-armed qbs, btw. It's not like a strong arm precludes winning a SB. It ought to be obvious it's a good thing if one isn't a knucklehead and can learn from mistakes. So far, Allen is promising.
  13. Nope. Jeffismagic posts over at buffalorumblings. While not terribly enthusiastic, he isn't bashing Allen. Ahh, I don't read that board much. Maybe he's become more positive like most Bills' fans with a reasonably open mind.
  14. Corey Coleman, you just lucked into a great opportunity. Put your past behind you and take advantage, young man.
  15. What veteran lb on the roster is arguably preferable to Edmunds as a starter? The more significant factor is simply the demands of the position. Lb and rb are two positions where rookies can typically make an impact. Qb is probably the most demanding, difficult position in any sport. McCarron buys you some time if you need it; hence the different approaches. Also, I don't buy the narrative put forth by the other fella where McDermott is a clown setting Allen up for ridicule.
  16. There was actually a Rosenite who left the message board in a fit of pique when Allen was selected. He was certain it would take at least two years of development before Allen could conceivably see the field. Other than Holy Overreaction, Batman, Allen's early performance, standing on its own merits and having nothing whatsoever to do with whether he is competing against Aaron Rodgers or not, has been promising.
  17. Would you rather have Taylor on this team and not have Edmunds?
  18. Just how much change do you think can be accomplished in one offseason? They did a lot. If they hit on Allen and Edmunds, they have central pieces to lead both offense and defense for years to come. This year, we have a lot of dead cap money. Next year, there's plenty of free agent money and a full draft. Pretty sure rb, oline, and wr will be addressed.
  19. Yep, and one of those INTs was a bobbled ball that really falls on the WR. Snidely wondering if it's now more than two ignores the global context you bring up and the particular I mentioned.
  20. I think and hope you're going to be wrong, but there's no doubt you are credible and one of the solid contributors to this board.
  21. Well, I'm going to be cautiously enthusiastic. If you want to take a more neutral approach, go right ahead. Scorp and JRober have a club for skeptics. Still don't think all those crop circles are just hoaxes.
