  1. That's not an option, the decision has to be made soon. IMO there's no reason why they shouldn't pick it up. It's reasonable enough for a good WR to give you a period to decide on whether to re-sign him or not. $13 mil against the cap is similar to what Jeffrey got.
  2. He has some potential, but had a rough preseason last year. Worth taking a shot on for sure but needs a lot of work. Have the feeling he'll be a fan favorite and camp cut.
  3. Some good receiving TE numbers: 88 87 85 82
  4. The change has two other assistants with Dean in New York for this situation.
  5. No it's not. Zero chance in hell I'm trading a 3rd for that head case. Is he really worth more than what we got for Marshawn Lynch?
  6. Once Listenbee stops being a sleeper then I'll wake up.
  7. She lives in Bastrop. It's mostly old people and BBQ joints.
  8. My reaction to this article was "damn, Lockhart is only 35 miles away?"
  9. McDermott may only use two LBs but they need to have great coverage skills while the CBs are playing zone. IMO LB is a much bigger need than CB because none of our LBs are great at coverage right now. Really hope we get Zach back.
  10. This would be huge. McDermott needs cover linebackers and we don't have them. I'm more worried about that than CB personally.
  11. They're all sleepers besides Sammy, I just hope someone wakes up this year.
  12. Check out Tyrod's stats with and without Sammy. This includes Robert who was a better #2 than anything we have now (and I don't love Bob Woods to begin with).
  13. I'm not sure how people can look at our WRs and not think it's one of the highest areas of need even after these signings.
  14. My thoughts as EJ walks out the door: "woohoo!!!!"
  15. No thanks, would much rather get an elite cover LB in McDermotts scheme.
  16. We need a backup safety but I believe the two we signed are both starters and improvements over last year.
  17. I grabbed Tyrod's game logs from profootballreference and did some quick Excel work with games Sammy played: There's clearly a drop-off from 2015 to 2016 but his season with Sammy in 2016 is better than without him in both seasons. Feels to me like the truth is a mix of both.
  18. One of the other fun things to do is to play with these stats on the passing charts at pro football reference: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2016/passing.htm Here are some non-Bills things that stick out to me: Jameis Winston 2016 ANY/A - 21st NY/A - 17th Passer Rating - 21st TD % - 12th Average: 18th 2015 ANY/A - 16th NY/A - 9th Passer Rating - 28th TD % - 24th Average: 19th Ouch. It's one of the reasons why I'm not sold on Jameis yet. Dak Prescott 2016 ANY/A - 3rd NY/A - 4th Passer Rating - 3rd TD % - 9th WOW that was a great year! Marcus Mariota 2016 ANY/A - 8th NY/A - 7th Passer Rating - 10th TD % - 4th Marcus is gonna be a star, and his stats are already there. Better than Jameis IMO. Ryan Tannehill 2016 ANY/A - 17th NY/A - 12th Passer Rating - 12th TD % - 11th This one surprised me. I'd probably put him around QB20 but he fell right near QB13 last season.
  19. By any objective measure, though, Kirk Cousins had a significantly better season than Tyrod. These stats are all adjusted for # of passing attempts: 2016 Cousins ANY/A - 4th NY/A - 3rd Passer Rating - 7th TD % - 16th
  20. Chase in fact mentions PRD in his article and links to the one you just provided. They're all tied together. While PRD on a team-by-team basis is an examination of both your QB's performance & how other QBs perform against your team, the variables above look at just how your QB is performing - one half of PRD. The difference here is the above is an attempt to isolate QB performance while PRD looks at overall team performance.
  21. There's always a ton of discussion on this board about passing offense, with people dismissing our passing offense because of the lack of total yards or touchdowns. Statistically, total yards and touchdowns are a pretty bad indicator of success. Chase Stuart did this study in 2012: http://www.footballperspective.com/correlating-passing-stats-with-wins/ ANY/A, NY/A, Passer Rating, and Touchdowns per Attempt are the stats most correlated with winning. Since this is a Bills forum, and Tyrod is obviously going to come up, here's where he ranked the past two seasons: 2016 ANY/A - 18th NY/A - 24th Passer Rating - 18th TD % - 18th 2015 ANY/A - 9th NY/A - 11th Passer Rating - 8th TD % - 13th By these measures, Tyrod was around QB #10 in 2015, and QB #20 in 2016.
  22. Well, it's SOMETHING.
  23. Josh Gordon is still under contract because 2016 did not count for him. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/josh-gordon-11012/
  24. While Pat has great physical talent, I don't want to waste a pick on an Air Raid QB.
