People seem to like our scouting staff yet don't give Whaley credit for building it. I don't get it. Doug brought Monos in and is responsible for building this staff.

It's absolutely ridiculous that Doug Whaley had to issue a statement on this.

Bills' 2016 Organized Team Activities - Week 3

I think it's a sign of a great company too. Gallup even asks on the Q12 if you have a best friend at work, because that's one of the most important indicators of employee engagement. -

I think it's completely reasonable to expect people to be high performers. I was more referring to the comment about people paying you and you're paying not being friends. I've had some amazing friendships with both employees and bosses. Hell, I was the best man in my bosses wedding, he was the best man in mine, and I've had strong relationships with VPs and CEOs at my various companies, both when I was someone on the front lines and when I was part of senior leadership. Art Modell clearly didn't get it, but there's a ton of companies that don't. -

What I haven't seen explained well is what the new policy gets the team. Does anyone know? Training camp practices are still open so most of the banned stuff is going to come out eventually anyway. I also think teams would want to be in the forefront of people's minds as they make their season ticket drives, sell individual game tickets, etc. Create some excitement around the teams. I don't have a huge problem with it, I just don't really get it. -
Whaley words things weirdly sometimes, he always has since he joined. If he had worded it as "Football is a game humans weren't built to play" there would be zero questions about it. If that's the worst thing my team's GM does though, I'm completely cool with it.

I'm planning on going to this game too, hopefully we'll hear something.

It wasn't just this year.

I don't agree with that at all. In 2015 Seattle: #3 Rushing, #4 Yds/Gm, #4 Points Per Game Carolina: #2 Rushing, #11 Yds/Gm, #1 Points Per Game Buffalo: #1 Rushing, #13 Yds/Gm, #12 Points Per Game Big difference between the Seattle/Carolina and us was the passing game scoring points. DYAR Rankings: Seattle Doug Baldwin - #2 Tyler Lockett - #15 J. Kearse - #18 J. Graham - #8 TE Awesome receiver group last year. Carolina Greg Olsen - #6 TE J. Cotchery - #40 C. Brown - #50 T. Ginn - #52 An amazing player in Greg Olsen followed by 3 receivers ranking in the #2 receiver range (32-64). And Cam Newton is just ridiculous. Buffalo S. Watkins - #9 Charles Clay - #32 TE C. Hogan - #75 R. Woods - #79 Just like Carolina and Seattle, we had ourselves a great threat in Sammy Watkins, but unlike Seattle and Carolina, the other people we had receiving the ball were two guys who were in 3WR range (Hogan & Woods), and essentially the last starting TE in the league. Now, I think Clay has the potential and will certainly be better than last year, but we just don't have the receivers the other great offenses in the NFL do. We're trying to be a Seattle or Carolina style offense with a wide receiver group that just isn't as good. Did we need to improve the defense? Absolutely. But it's an offensive driven league, we have the potential to be great, and we're missing that 32-64 range guy who can be that #2 WR threat that the other great offenses have.

I'm pumped about Overwatch. I was a huge TFC/TF2 fan and Overwatch's Betas were so good. Can't wait to start playing it on Monday. So far, I LOVE Pharah. Is anyone else picking it up? What system are you getting it on? Who are your favorite heroes? I'm getting it on PC, and the more the merrier. Add the battletag Chilly#11361

Good info on the success rate for the surgery, appreciate the link. At least that makes me a little less concerned about Sammy. On Woods reception rates: 2013: 46.5% 2014: 62.5% 2015: 58.75% These aren't great. And neither are Woods' DYAR numbers: 2013: #72 (to be fair, the entire Bills WR group was bad, but a negative DVOA isn't great) 2014: #64, behind Chris Hogan 2015: #79, behind Chris Hogan

The Bills WR situation is a disaster waiting to happen. What WR have you ever heard of that got better AFTER they put a screw in his foot? Not to mention Sammy's getting an injury list as long as a CVS receipt. And we have nothing else at WR. Robert Woods is just not very good. His catch rate is terrible, he's been ranked behind guys like Hogan and Hankerson in DVOA the past few years, and those guys aren't very good either. If Watkins goes down, which unfortunately is a very real possibility, we're basically boned at WR. All you have to do is take away McCoy and Clay and our passing game is done. This is easily one of the positions I'm the most worried about this year and I'm disappointed we haven't really addressed it.

Best Credit Cards for Points, Rewards, Airline Miles, etc.
Chilly replied to BringBackFergy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My main card is the Citi Prestige: https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/credit-card-details/citi.action?ID=citi-prestige-card $450 annual fee, which is steep, but it makes sense for me. Here's why: 1.) $250 airline credit (which can be used for airfare) each year. 2.) Fourth night free for all hotels booked through the Citi Prestige concierge. 3.) Lounge access to Admiral's Club when flying American Airlines. 4.) Points are worth 60% more when redeeming on American Airlines. 5.) You get a full subscription to Priority Pass (giving access to Priority Pass lounges). 6.) You get a credit to refund global entry (yay free TSA Pre-check) While the $450 is expensive, I more than get the value out of it every year. I charge everything to my Citi cards and then pay it off every month. -

Good teams keep their top players and reload and build via the draft. We have now resigned Dareus, Hughes, Incognito, and now Glenn over the past two years, and I have no doubt we'll sign Tyrod if he performs. Hopefully Gilmore too. This is a fantastic change from our best players leaving the Bills after their first contract. Kudos to ownership and the front office. Huge improvement over the past that should be celebrated.

What Kolby at WR does for the Bills right now

Yes, his body might not be built for the NFL, but Goodwin's pretty darn good as a receiver. -
What Kolby at WR does for the Bills right now
Chilly replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What I'd like to see out of Listenbee this year is a couple long fly routes early this year that causes defenses to account for him. Get him on tape early beating defenses and use that to create positive matchups later on even if they shut him down because he's one dimensional. -
Dallas Offered Us Their 2nd and 3rd for #19

So glad the Bills didn't trade out of round one. Shaq is worth way more than that trade. -
RD 6, Pick 192: WR Kolby Listenbee, TCU
Chilly replied to Steve Billieve's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty excited about this pick. Tyrod and Listenbee should be a perfect match. Watkins, Woods, Hankerson, Listenbee, Salas isn't terrible. Upgrade Woods next year and it'd be pretty darn good. -
Bills Plan to improve the offense “The power of prayer"
Chilly replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills we're fifteenth in points per game allowed and twelfth in points per game scored. This without Tyrod for a few games, Sammy being nicked up, Shady nicked up, Woods hurt, Harvin barely playing. Thinking the offense can maintain or get better from the QB progressing and young players on the right side of the line stepping up isn't exactly a prayer, it's a natural progression of a football team. Remember we didn't even know our starting quarterback throughout most of camp last year. This year, we're going to be designing and installing an offense for that QB the entire offseason. That's not a prayer, that's a significant difference for this season than last. If they can maintain offensive production of last year and improve the defense, they'll have a great shot at a playoff spot. It's pretty doom and gloom around here sometimes but reality is this is an 8-8 football team that has the potential to get better on both sides of the ball. It's the first time in forever we've had coaching continuity with a legitimate starting quarterback and the ability for both sides of the ball to get better as a team. I'm hopeful they will, but that fact alone makes this season different from the previous ones. They need to seize the opportunity and improve. That isn't relying on a prayer; it's deciding where you think the team can improve through competition already on the roster and where you need more guys. -
RD 5, Pick 156: RB Jonathan Williams, Arkansas
Chilly replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Love this pick. He only participated in non contact drills at the Senior Bowl but looked pretty good. Phil Savage called him "the sleeper RB of this draft class". Great potential here, with high upside, which is exactly what you want from mid to late picks.
