How many times does one have to say it. We don't get MNF because Ralph doesn't want it at home. And if we can't have it at home, he doesn't want it away cause WE DON'T DO WELL on MNF on the road. In fact we are horrible. We've already got one loss in the "L" column next year (SNF @ NE), why do you want another one?
-
Thank you for being realistic, albeit sucky for us.
-
Boy do I want some of that kool-aid you're drinking. I'd be stunned if they go 9-7 this year. Not being negative, just realistic with a "rookie" QB that hasn't proved anything to anyone to date.
-
Don't blame the league, blame Ralph. He just doesn't want MNF games at home and if don't do it at home why get embarassed on the road like we always do?

When was the last time the Bills played
PTS replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because the Giants probably play at 1pm. They never have the Jets and Giants on at the same time I believe. -
Ralph Wilson doesn't want night games in Buffalo because of people that drive from far away to see the Bills player. That's why we got a night Saturday game at home, no school or work on Sunday.

and the nfl thinks throwing snowballs is bad
PTS replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They'll get it. However, the Rhinos owner doesn't want to play the entrance fee. He's waiting the league out. I'm a huge soccer fan but every time I watch a player dive I want to punch the screen. That's why I like this new guy Eddie Johnson on the US National Team. He's awesome, he runs throw tackles and doesn't go down even when he does get hacked. -

It's a soccer tradition in Italy, Spain and Portugal. You light your flares that bare your team's main color as a show of support. But with an incident like this, who knows if the leagues might reconsider allowing it. BTW... there might be another soccer-maylee today. Liverpool FC plays Juventus in a UEFA Championship League game today on ESPN2 at 2:30pm. It's the first time the teams play at Juve since 39 Juve fans were killed in the Heysel Stadium disaster 20 years ago when Liverpool's fans trampled them to death. They are reported having 1,100 special forces officers at the game because of claims of revenage. -
OK, when hockey ever gets back to playing, I have an idea I wish the league would consider. Being a soccer fan, many leagues around the world have Cup games during the season. In some leagues, the inter-season Cup is the biggest prize, more so than winning the league. In other league's it's just a way to keep fan interest up during the long season. Here's how it would work. We'll call it "The Labatt Cup" as the competition would be named for the main sponsor. ($$$ for the league it didn't have before.) The competition is a knock out tournament and the first few rounds would be all the minor league teams playing each other. At one stage (3rd or 4th round) the NHL teams would join in. It's a one game knock out tournament. Home team is randomly picked. Usually the Championship game is played at a neutral site. The tournament starts with the minor league teams at the start of the hockey season. I'd envision having this end sometime in late January. What do you think?

Yeah, well thank God Kerry isn't running this country.

OK, someone brought it up in another post and said lets discuss another day. Lets make that day today. First off I am a practicing Catholic and I am just finishing up reading The Da Vinci Code. It is easily the best book I've ever read even thought it attacks my religion. Obviously Dan Brown is not a fan of Catholicism however some of the points he makes in the book make you wonder. I for one believe that some of the stuff he says is true. The Catholic Church is the single most powerful and largest funded organization in the history of the world. There are some deep secrets I'm sure the church wants to keep from getting out. Just look at the evidence of famous art works compiled for over 2000 years, you can't disagree. I think what the church wanted to hide was the larger role of women in the establishment of the religion. The corrupt leaders and popes of long ago saw this as a threat. Either way, this book hasn't changed me as a Catholic, I go to church to pray to God. What popes and church leaders of long ago did doesn't really matter to me. If you read the book, what are your thoughts on everything?

Could there be hope for WGR" The voice of reason"
PTS replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why do you hate WGR so much? Did one of the on-air guys piss on your lot? -
Thoughts on extending Daylight Savings Time
PTS replied to KRC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I competely agree. I think we should always be in DST. -
I haven't follow TBD much over the last two weeks so I'm not exactly sure what this piss-fight is about but I felt this thread needs my response. Clearly, Seventh Day Adventist is the supreme religion of the world. Every other one sucks. Thank you. That should "clear" everything up.

Here's what I'm thinking... Spliced throughout these scenes would be footage of Willis working out hard. SCENE ONE: Willis knee being destroyed in NCAA Championship against OSU with announcers saying "OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD." SCENE TWO: Collage of coaches, players, and reporters saying "he can't do it" when asked if they think WM would make a comback. SCENE THREE: Willis breaking a huge run at the Ralph against the Pats, scoring a TD, jumping into the crowd. Camera pans to him and he says "I Just Did It." JUST DO IT Cut. That's a rap. I know ... I'm good. This is what I do.

Wow, unlike the previous seven times, I really think this time the deal is done. Yeah right.
-
Why would you subject him to a lifetime of disappointment? Just kidding ... he can be miserable with the rest of us! Congrats!

Kerry still crying about the election.....
PTS replied to Rich in Ohio's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't know about you Rich, but as a Republican, getting a federal holiday for voting is something for us to desire. You saw in this election how bad W was losing in the swing states until after 5pm when, well, the working people started showing up. You go John, you go! haha -
Scotland soccer fans, boo during moment of silence
PTS replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too bad the game wasn't between the Glasgow Celtic (Catholics) and Glasgow Rangers (Protestants) cause that disrespectful act would have led to sheer violence. I'm actually surprised the Celt fans didn't riot but then again they are probably saving their anger for when the Rangers come in town. It's the world's greatest sports rivalry, every game is treated like it were a war zone. -
Finally, we agree.

There is no way in hell I'll ever vote to the left. Unless of course I become ridiculously poor, prefer homosexual activity, and believe terrorism is not a problem. Then, just maybe, I'll go left.

That's funny ... cause I hate them all too, each and every one of them. -
Best Buy has man arrested for paying with $2 bills
PTS replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we all learned something here, next time anything goes wrong at TBD, and someone freaks we should all attribute it to ... "Being a sign that we're all a little nervous in the post-9/11 world." Anyway, I would have told the store to f-off when they called. They have no legal rights to ask for money after the fact. A receipt it a binding contract, and if there was no mention of a balance due on that receipt, then he didn't have to pay them. But ... in the end, he's definitelying going to make out $$$. -
Amen to that. However, I bet we win 6 out of the next 8 elections.
