The match sold out in mintues. Luckly I am a member of the US Soccer Federation and got my two tickets to the game. The girlfriend and I are driving down to C-Bus Saturday morning and we can't freakin wait! The tailgates with Sam's Army - dare I say - are better than any football tailgates I've been to. That being said, the guy that started Sam's Army is from and lives in Buffalo. The atmosphere inside the US National games is amazing, you'll never experience anything better. There's just something about going to the game, rooting for your country and doing it actively with songs and chants. The closes I can explain it to is college football in a place like Nebraska or Texas. That being said, soccer haters continue to hate, but more and more people are being sucked into the "dark side". Anyone from TBD going down? I know there is a bunch of people driving down from Buffalo.

Not that this matters compared to what it going on, but I gotta feeling the Saints will be playing away football for at least half the season and I'm not talking about up the road in Baton Rouge. The entire city is being evacuated and now scores of officials are saying that it will be at least a month before people get back in. I wonder if the NFL will transfer the Saints home games to their opponent's city. Sell tickets to those games and send all the revenue to disaster relief.

Why are there companies coming out and already estimating the damage figures from this hurricane. For one, they can't get into 80% of the areas that have been flooded. One estimate by a premier forcasting agency says $16 billion. Based on my expert knowledge in these situations -- which is none -- my guess is it's going to be around $60 billion. I bet my figure is closer than the "experts" figure.

Looking at the hurricane projections, there is only Tropical Depression #13 and it's in a location that usually just goes into the Altantic ocean. If NO gets hit with another 'Cane this year, I don't want to even imagine.

It looks like the aftermath is going to be worse than the actual hurricane. The floods and fires are uncontrolable as rescue crews can't get in.

We just got word from our CEO that our offices in downtown New Orleans "have been basically destroyed". Our offices are described as a first-class, high rise complex. That doesn't sound good for lower quality buildings in the area. Our colleagues, thankfully, are all safe.
