That is correct, the World Cup will be in HD. Fortunately for me, it won't matter because I already have my USA tickets for up to five US games. Hopefully JP holds his own, the Bills make a run followed by a good Sabres run which will lead me right into the World Cup. It's gonna be a great year!

Must See Video From The Game Who says American's aren't crazy for soccer! Here's a quick clip of the fans before and right after our 2nd goal against Mexico. Enjoy!

ESPN reporting this morning SAINTS MOVE
PTS replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was as Fox News and CNN reported, but as I re-posted later that day, they seemed to do a 360 on the story as the news wasn't what people from that affected areas wanted to hear. -
It was amazing. After meeting all these fans from across the country, many of whom said they never played soccer, just going to one of these games makes you a fan for life. Being in that atmosphere, singing all game long and seeing the game you don't see on TV makes is that much better. Your neck tingles all game long with national pride.

For You Soccer Fans... Just got back from Columbus and what an amazing game! Sam's Army ran that city for a day. The pre-game, the game and the post game party downtown. You'd think America just won the World Cup. I can't even compare it to anything else. It was wilder and more passionate that any other sporting event I've ever been at. The stadium was 80% USA to 20% Mexico supporters (smelly bastards), more Somberos that expected. They were begging people to give up their seats outside the stadium. They were waving hundred dollar bills and were offering $200 PER SEAT when we walked in! I met so many people from all across the country. Miami, Portland OR, Philly, and dudes from Houston with Texans hats. My girlfriend -- wearing her patriotic Bills hat -- said we're friends today but next Sunday we're kicking your ass. It's amazing to see how far soccer has come along in America since the World Cup in 1994. Can't wait for the World Cup in Germany 06! Must See Video From The Game Some more neck tingling videos I seen today courtesy of Sam's Army... Someone queue up the link to the video clip of the Detroit Mayor and his crazy congresswoman mother. Apparently people are dying in Detroit, although I'm still not sure where and for what.
-
Good luck, stay safe and kick some ass! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your team all the way.

In his defense, I don't think he has nearly the resources needed to fix this problem.

So how did Boston do it 200+ years ago? Downtown Boston stands now where rivers and harbors were. They moved dirt in from the mountains in New England and filled it up.

This guy is irrate and I think deservingly so. http://www.wben.com/newsroom/ondemand.php "I'm probably gonna get in so much trouble, it's not even funny. They probably won't even want to deal with me after this interview." I support the war but he's dead on when he talks about the response in comparsion to the war and the tsunami relief. Sounds like the governor is dropping the ball according to this guy.

http://www.nhl.com/news/2005/09/233896.html Meanwhile, Sabres will be on National TV in Canada a total of nine times. 3 on Hockey Night in Canada (CBC) and 6 on TSN.

If the Buffalo CVB is smart, they'd contact all the companies that were going to hold conventions down in The Big Easy and get them up here.

I must be mistaken then, the major charity I heard had admin costs of well over .20 to a dollar.

I don't know how to even phrase this question because of the shear magnitude, but here goes... What happens to New Orleans? Right now, the city is dead. The 1.3 million people of Greater New Orleans have left or are being evacuated and won't be back for months. Thousands of companies are now non-operational. This is such a social-economic disorder that can't be described because it has never happened. The people will move on. My guess since people can't live there for months, they will move to another city, get a job and start over. They'll only come back to N.O. to get their insurance check. What happens to the businesses? They have to go on right? And for the physical structures? It's my belief that most if not all will have to be leveled once the water is gone. Are they better off just leveling the city, filling it in with dirt and raising it above sea level so they can rebuild? So many questions and I can't figure out where to even go.

Ditto, even the Red Cross has HUGE administrative cost which I'm skeptical of.

TV reports this morning had New Orleans playing their entire season in San Antonio this year but it's still up in the air apparently.

Mark My Words: US 2 Mexico 0 - Bruce Arena won't let us lose at home. There is so much trash talking going on from the Mexican side the the US side is just keeping quiet. They -- the Mexicanos -- hate the fact that we have turned the table on the rivalry. Soccer was all they had over us and now we took that. They fear us and resort to attacking the American style as weak. I gotta feel it might turn into a blow out if the US scores early and Mexico loses control like at the last world cup. "Adios, Amigos"

You sick bastard, these are American people we are talking about. Rapes, murders, and robbings being reported in plain sight in downtown New Orleans. That being said, you're right on! I'd consider some of these people "terrorists" and they should be dealt like ones.

[OT] Shepard Smith is a fuggin' idiot!
PTS replied to LabattBlue's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I like Shep a lot but he's been flakey the last two days. I have fox on in the background and but I thought he was talking about no one helping the man out before he died. Either way, who cares, it's really f-ed up down there. -
It still boogles me why Pae Tec didn't get a upper dec with boxes. Their owner is stubborn. Rochester is a prime area for MLS with some of the best soccer fans in the country. The owner just doesn't want to pay the expansion fee to get into the MLS. It's a pissing match between the league and him. And I don't think he will win. Rumor has it European clubs are interested in buying teams in the US as they see the talent that is coming out. AJAX is rumored to form a team in the Orlando area.

Something tells me the Bills winning this year is going to force you to stay on your porn sites. Enjoy, just stay clear of your keyboard if you know what a I mean.

I don't see here on the Jills website though ... unfortunately. http://www.maximonline.com/sports/mud_and_...5/nfl_girls.asp You welcome in advance.

Part of the reason the game is in Columbus is so the game isn't dominated by Mexican fans like it would have been down south. The pre-sale for US Fans sold 90% of the tickets. There was only a few sections left to the general public. So your thinking that it's the Mexicanos that sold the game our is way off.

Soccer won't catch on with older generations in America, but it's already infiltrating youths of all ages, genders and races. The statistics are staggering. The numbers were big 20 years ago but the numbers now are just jaw dropping. ESPN did a piece on soccer in projects and how people in projects are playing soccer on basketball courts. Eddie Johnson, one of the most coveted players in the world now, was introduced to soccer that way. Baseball fields are being replaced with soccer complexes. In West Seneca alone, there are three major soccer complexes within five miles of my house. A successful run in next year's World Cup -- which I already have US tickets for -- might breach the barriers of media in America. The money is there. Many sponsors are funneling money to the US Soccer Federation because they see what is at the end of the tunnel. While football will always remain #1 in America, soccer will continue to make huge strides at catching up to the other major sports.

That will change soon enough as media and marketing firms learn how to actively advertise in soccer. All they need to do is watch an English Premier League game on TV. Many American companies that spend billions to advertise in the English leagues get better ROI than they do with the NFL here. I had the page save in my favorites but the article from 2004 is out of date that explained it. In the article it talked about how Budweiser had better returns from English soccer advertising than all the advertising it did with all US sports combined.
