He was talking football. It was perfectly OK for him to name me steve. FFS and I go back for many years, and I have never seen him get personal toward me nor others. I even welcome his questions.
I would rather read football questions from FFS than racial slurs from a pompous fool.
How about you?

One would hope so. Unfortunately, when mental illness gets to the point of severe lead poisoning such as that, it's usually a hopeless case...
Of course I have the utmost sympathy for Robbins and wish he'd get (or had gotten) help. At the same time...the police involved did absolutely nothing wrong. A guy that size attacks you, you do what you can to defend yourself and worry about why he's doing it afterwards.
I fully agree. Tom, remember, this took place in a bathroom.
I can tell you from experience that IF you can, in that situation the thing to do is get OUT and call for Emergency Service (the guys with the toys), but again...IF you can! Imagine the riccochet that could happen if three cops were unloading into this guy!?
I think the cops were in a situation where there was simply no choice, and acted appropriately. They did the right thing and are heros. They probably are also feeling pretty sad right about now.

I think it is close between Moss and Rice as to who is the best receiver of all time.
That said, I would not want him on the Bills because of his personality issues and the cap hit at the wr position.

The best part about getting rid of Henry in the next 2 weeks will be not having to read BINYC's rants on him anymore. The extra draft pick and cap space won't hurt either.
For that matter, getting rid of Drew as well may finally bring more unity to this board. At least until ICE returns...
If you dont like my posts, you should try not reading them. It will give you more time to endlessly bash Drew, and you can practice up on your racial slurs which you hold so dear.
Now, run along little Asswipe.

>>>>>I think there is a ragin' moderate case to be made for Henry and as a long time TSW poster I think you can help us find it if you wish. Are you football guy enough to give us the best case (even if it is not a great case for someone trading value for Henry?<<<<<
I will happily answer you in terms of how I understand what you are asking.
I might be interesrted in TH if I were Bill Cowher. The OL is big and strong, and when Travis runs straight ahead at the LOS, there would be a better chance at him finding a hole. Travis has certainly proven that he is able to run in the NF>
I would not want him to start, but think he could share the load well with Bettis (old) and the Duce (banged up).
His record asa starter is as bad as it gets. All his fault? Certainly not, but Drew gets his feet held to the fire for his w/l pct., right? one day. f things are slow, look up the w/l record of the Buffalo Bills with TH as a starter.
Anyway, because he CAN run and is young and cheap, were I Cowher, I would probably go as high as a 5th round pick, maybe a 4th.

You know, you are probably correct, but Tipper Gore was a huge proponent of "warning labels," etc. and they ALL threw Howard Stern under the bus after the Janet Jackson Bowl.
I was listening to Stern the next day and he fully predicted that they would come after HIM because of that episode.
-
I dont think that "cheap" is the right word for TD.
That said, Kendall did work out well for the jests. One question.....why does he keep bouncing from team to team? The rarely happens with the better offensive linemen, right?

AKC, how about Cleeland or Becht?

If I was saying that, I woul d have said it outright.
Obviously people will care. People care about a lot of things. YOU may not care. I personally would skim right by a Bible ad and not notice it ... but I do care about repression no matter who does it. My point is that the right recently has made a practice of curbing free speech when it doesn't jibe with their idealogy or platform; and anyone who complains is told to stow it. Now that the shoe is on the other foot I wonder if it will be different.
I don't lose sleep over it, but I do think it's funny in an ironic way that they are being served with their own sauce.
Tough to say why, but I like it when you get snippy.

Barret Robbins weighs 380. He was kicking and punching the cops, and laughing while doing so. He was on a toilet, barking and growling. He even knocked the gun away from one of the police officers.
These men showed caution, heroism and restraint by not fully unloading into this sick, violent man.
Great Job Officers!!!!!

If Miami would make that trade, I would do it in the bat of an eyelash.
It is however a pretty big IF.

-
Deb, who would care?
And by the way, are you saying that the right does more to limit free speech than the left? If so, I suggest you visit a college campus.

Maybe I can help......
It is "evil" to fly planes into buildings and kill innocent people.
It is "good" to kill those that would do so.
Good start?

1) He cannot/will not block. ...not a factor for a team without a statue QB
2) He cant even figure out simple pass patterns. ...he's a runningback
3) He has been known to cough up the football. ...that was now 3 years ago
4) No breakaway speed....he breaks heads not speed.
5) Headcase, or at the very least severely intellectually challenged. ...he plays in the NFL, duh
6) Terrible season in 05 where he had the job and lost it due to poor play. ...lost it to a betterback, good point though.
7) Bad hands. ...he's a runningback
8) New habit of slipping on his ass on key plays, in front of truck sized holes. ...see #6
9) RBs tend to NOT be the hardest players to find in the draft. ...then why are there so many teams looking for starting backs?
10) Superior free agent rbs out there. ...true, but look at Henry's salary cap hit for 2006.
We'll find out shortly which one of us is right.
Believe me, I hope it is you that is correct. Call me shallow, but I would love to see the Bills get something that could get us back into round 1 on draft day, but I just dont see it.

MRW. i agree whole heartledly(speeling) with your post. I also find it somewhat amazing that of the 4 teams left, three caoches who have almost total control. Conventional
wisdom says one needs a strong GM and coach, not one doing both jobs, and I tend to agree with that. However, these teams seem to defy that logic. The real kicker is that the Pats and the Eagles, the two most consistant teams over the last four years, seem to never have any cap issues. I may be wrong, but I think the Eagles are like $20M under the cap for next year and have a plethora of picks.
I guess that was my original point, that I am more convinced that ever that football is the ultimate team game, and overpaying for one or two players just guts your team. Reid and Belichek seem better than others at spotting talant early in their career, and locking them up early. How often have you seen a Pat or Eagle worth a big contract come up for FA in yr 4 or 5. I am sure there are examples, but overall they restructure those rookie contracts in the 2nd or third year, tying the guy up until he is in his late 20's and , like I said, in peak EARNING years, not peak playing years. I believe Philly redid both of their starting cornerbacks this year in mid year, while the players were only in the 2nd year of 4 yr deals. Now, that is what I want to see out of TD
I want to see TD start locking down guys like McGee and WM now, not wait till their contract year. If we need to cut some vetereans to get this done , so be it. Tell ya this, we better be drafting some safetys, as those boys back there are getting old. I know, I know, they played great down the stretch, but thats where a GREAT gm comes in. Remeber those guys were CUT by the two teams favored to go the Bowl, and they seem to be doing just fine without them.
I am not sure when Mike Williams is a FA, I am guessing after 2006. Why not look at tying him up now, before he continues to mature and continues to get better as he did this year.
Another good post!
I think that part of what happened on the Bills was due to the mess that TD inherited. Other than Moulds, I am hard pressed to recall much if any real talent on that team. To make matters worse, it cost as I recall nearly 11 million dollars in dead cap space to rid the team of Fina and Ostroski, two virtual if not in fact scrubs. Sam Rogers was being paid 3 mil per season. It was a mess.
It IS frustrating to watch NE. Vrabel, a good but not great player looks like a pro bowler in that system, as does Bruschi. With the Bills, I agree that it is time to look for safeties, a position at which we are aging. Also, imo there is never a bad time to stock up on big ugly men who can block.
To his credit, TD HAS brought in some young defensive linemen.
In short, I guess this philosophy comes down to whether or not one believes that the Bills are only a few players away from big things.
I happen to think that they are.

I've never understood why people here were scoffing at the idea of getting a #2 pick for Travis. Round 2 picks are no where near sure things (and we as Bills fans should know that by now). So why wouldn't teams start lining up for a deal that would get them a proven runningback that runs like a bull, has a chip on his shoulder and costs dirt cheap.
1) He cannot/will not block.
2) He cant even figure out simple pass patterns.
3) He has been known to cough up the football.
4) No breakaway speed.
5) Headcase, or at the very least severely intellectually challenged.
6) Terrible season in 05 where he had the job and lost it due to poor play.
7) Bad hands.
8) New habit of slipping on his ass on key plays, in front of truck sized holes.
9) RBs tend to NOT be the hardest players to find in the draft.
10) Superior free agent rbs out there.
Does this help?

He also repeated that Travis is a starter and wants something of value for him.
-
1) Stated that he will make decisions at qb and rb within the next FEW WEEKS.
2) Said the veterans not wanting a rookie was a concern, but that veterans wanted Travis before Willis performed.
3) Thinks highly of Drew and JP.
4) team beat itself vs Pitt.
All in all, it didn't sound that great for Drew. At least that was my spin.

LOL! Yeah, I guess you suffered more than me for our similar names. Sorry about that but hey, I was here first.
