Really LA, they need to wake up.
JP is much better than Montana NOW, let alone Eli. Just imagine how he will do in a few years!
What are they thinking?
-
Do you have any thoughts on Surtain coming to the Bills? Perhaps the phish would take Travis and a pick?
-
Very true, but it wont happen. 5 mil is bonus money, right? They could cut him (if need be) after 6/1 next year and not lose much.
It was an OK contract imo.

>>>>Last preseason I was dying to trade TH and got bashed for it.<<<<
Not by me. I have been getting "bashed" for 2 years for wanting to dump/bench him.

Dude, I think that Diem and Riley are guards, no?

As much as I love Philly, they don't have to worry.......their teams as of late couldn't hold a candle to the Super Bowl Bills. I just saw Donovan McNabb and TO both say that they were tired in the fourth quarter against the Pats. Michael Irvin asked TO why they didn't realize that being down by two scores with time running out, that maybe they should pick up the pace. TO said they weren't even thinking about it like that. How pathetic. Don Beebe has more heart and 'never say die' than the entire Eagles offense. The stigma attached to the Bills is nothing more than that - a stigma. Those teams accomplished more than the Eagles have by far.
Well said!!! We all bear our wounds from the losses, but we went down like brave men, from a reigon of great people.

Yes my friend, especially when taking into account how these guys are rotated. Edwards is huge, young, and can rush the passer.
Look, I trust the coaches, but think about it.....what if he could be locked up for 5 years at 12 million dollars or so? He would count oh so little against the cap, and we could use the cash for other positions/players.
The Bills truly need another cb. Surtain would be just the ticket, but he wont come cheap.
Gotta admit, the speculation is exciting this time of year!

We do need a CB, we do need a backup QB, and yes Herm Edwards is probably the WORST in-game coach in the NFL. What Herm brings is not X's & O's. He brings leadership & unity amongst the team. Also, his players love playing for him. He needs, and we now have to very good coordinators on both sides of the ball. But, the "lovefest" has already ended for LOTS of Jets fans. I personally like what he brings to the team.
And yes; our RT is an UFA. However, we need a LT, not a RT. Jason Fabini played LT the past few years so McKenzie could play RT. Now that McKenzie is gone; Fabini will go back to his natural position of RT and we'll be in the market for a LT.
"In the market for a LT?" LTs are the 2nd highest paid players in football behind qbs.
As for jet fans, I laugh at how they blame Hackett for their offensive woes. The truth is (imo), Edwards is clearly at fault. I happen to think Pennington is good. He is accurate, but his arm is damaged and weak. Hackett calls a short game which is about all that Chad is capable of doing.
Personally, I am afraid that you guys will sign Moss. Santana Moss is NOT a #1 receiver. Randy is, and I fear a talent like this being in our division.
Two more things.....
1) Do you live in NY? If so, I remind you that the Buffalo Bills football team is the only one that does you any good when you pay your taxes. We alone represent New York football.
2) If you must remain a jet fan, feel free to stick around. This board, the best football site on the internet, boasts respectful pats and dolphin fans, and we can use another perspective. You will catch a little grief, but just keep talking football and you will be accepted here quite well overall.

Dont get me wrong. I would be happy if PW signed to a reasonable, short term (3 years or less) contract, but given a choice, I would be thrilled to see Edwards signed to a long term deal.
-
Absolutley he did! However, he's getting double teams virtually every play. Jason Ferguson is a free agant and we could either resign him or go after a free agent. Now don't get me wrong; Fergie is no slouch. I just think Williams will demand more respect from opposing blockers as well as well as some double teams freeing up Vilma behind him to utilize his best attribute; his speed!
I think your team needs cornerbacks, a backup qb, and a headcoach.
Edwards seems like a great guy. As a matter of fact, I would love to go have a beer with him. He is a gentleman.
That said, he is a disgrace as a headcoach. The lovefest is ending, and when he starts blowing game next season (again), it is going to get ugly.
Btw, isn't your RT a ufa?
-
I represent a minority here, but I think that PW will be gone.
Btw, why would you want him? Didn't Robertson come into his own this year?
-
Travis Henry would be a very bad fit on the Colts offense. Manning is their franchise player, and Henry, unlike James, cannot/will not block. On a simplified Bills offense, he was unable to run correct pass paterns. There is NO way he has the brain to remember the complicated Colts playbook.
I see him as a better fit on the Steelers. He could run straight ahead behind their powerful, deep offensive line. It is a shame, because I cant imagine TD doing business with them.
-
Whay are so many here down on JP already? Don't you have any trust in the Bills management? You should trust our new head coach on the QB change. I think Mike Mularkey knows what's best for our team.
Damn, it's time to move forward with our team and QB.
Drew Bledsoe is 100% class on the field and off the field. I wish him the best at what ever he does in the future. If it's here as a backup so be it or maybe he ends up with the Seahawks. I wish the guy the best cause he deserves it. I do think Bledsoe's best days are behind him and he would never get us what we all want and that is a SB ring.
Because it was exciting to have a chance to make the playoffs until the flop against Pitt. Hopefully, we will bring in a capable qb. in case this kid falls on his face, a distinct possibility.
That said, I am a Bills fan first. I will root for and cheer this kid, but my expectations are low with. His rookie season was a waste. The Bills will be lucky to finish 8-8, and JP will be lucky to finish the season.

I remember a couple years ago having a debate of sorts with you over Ostroski, yet I didn't know he'd rate that high for you? Look at all those who crapped on the Bills, Tony Hunter, Terry Miller, Perry Tuttle, Rob Johnson, Eddie Robinson, Chris Watson, Art Powell, Tom Flores, and even Keith Lincoln. Then there's Al Cowlings (who rated very high as one of my least favorite Bill), Ronnie "I didn't drop it, it was a bad throw" Harmon, Doug "slap the ball back in my face" Flutie, Walt Patulski, Jerry Crafts, and Jaimie Nails. What about more current players like Mike "Pussywillow" Pucillo, Rian Lindell, Josh Reed, and those marvelous safeties known as Coy Wire and Isell Reese.
Surely any of these (and many more I'm sure) rate much higher in this negative category than your choices.
It's a given you don't like Henry, and didn't like Ostroski, and while both have or had serious limitations, they certainly don't deserve our scorn nearly as much as do many others who more than earned it.
My feelings on Travis are well known.
As for Ostroski, he was signed to a 15 million dollar/5 year contract with a huge bonus as I recall....the problem being that he sucked. He even played hard to get, demanding to play OC, at which he was indescribably bad. In his first start at OC in a home opener against the Titans, he was toosed 10 yards and knocked on his ass on the first play from scrimmage. It never got better.
Cutting him cost the Bills millions of wasted cap dollars and were a major factor in the 3-13 season, but it was shear delight to oust him and Fina.
-
And JP is going to be great, right? After all, he has proven himself to be durable and prepared, hasn't he?
-
I'm not too high on Tucker, either. He's another one of those marginal starter/excellent backup type of players that we seem to be full of at OL. It's time to grab starter-level quality. Also, I am very much against having Teague shift to LT. I don't think he'd be "average to good," as you say. He was pretty awful at LT in his last year with Denver.
If we sign JJ, here's what I'd like the starting 5 look like:
LT: JJ
LG: Wahle from Green Bay would be nice
C: Dominic Raiola is my current favorite
RG: Villarial
RT: MW
If we don't sign JJ:
LT: MW
LG: Wahle
C: Raiola
RG: Villarial
RT: Stockar McDougle?
MW has, imo, never displayed the footwork needed to play LT. Although he is one of the strongest men on Earth, imo he is still too much of a plodding sort to LT. Would you truly trust him with protecting the blind side of a hapless rookie or even an immobile Drew against a speed rusher?
I am thinking that TT with a VERY good LG would be about the same as JJ with a so-so LG. Does this make sense?
Yeah, I am all for a true OC and I hope that it happens, but McNally has made a believer out of this OL skeptic, and Tucker works extremely hard by all accounts.
In summary, I expect the Bills to improve at OL next season.
-
You haters are once again making your point ad nauseum that Drew sucks. We get it.
What about the statement that JP (providing he does not step on a pebble and wind up hospitalized) will set the team back? Is the hatred so intense that those of you who are so engulfed in hate refuse to even look at this possibility? Do you WANT the franchise set back as long as it entails getting rid of your perceived villian?
Do you want stumblebums such as Garcia or Batch to step in and play qb for the Buffalo Bills after JP either stubs his toe and goes on IR, or just sucks?
I think that many of you guys are more into hating than you are the Buffalo Bills Football Team.
Is there a good "hate" web site for you to try?
-
Not terribly impressed.
I dont see why you think that he could be a LG. He seems to lack the strength and push to play OG, or for that matter, RT.
I DO think that he would be an average to good LT because the position calls for agility, which he has imo. Also, McNally would certainly help his cause.
In all, TT is a very cost effective player for the Buffalo Bills. He is probably less talented and more durable than Jennings, and my pure guess is that with instruction from McNally, would not be a serioud dropoff in talent were he to step in at LT. I do not by the way ever see MW at LT. My hope for him is that he does develop into a dominant, Erik Williams RT. That would be fine, wouldn't you say?
As I have said before, if the Bills could sign a CV equivalent at LG and move TT to LT and Tucker to OC, I would consider this a very good OL.

1) Travis Henry
2) Jerry Ostroski

I was always also kind of intrigued with Hasselbeck.
But then he audibled out of a play into that out on 1stdown in OT of a playoff game, then proceeded to throw the pick'n' go to McKenzie (or Harris?) to eliminate his team. He instantly dropped off my radar screen and became a guy I don't want in a Bills uni when things get tight.
I know you're catching a bad vibe from JP, and frankly he's yet to show me anything outside the preseason. But is there anything else beside a gut feeling that would make you want to deal him away for less than we got him for before he's even had a chance to play ball for the Bills?
Cya
I have liked Hasselbeck since he backed up Favre. He HAS played in cold weather, has pocket presence, can move a little, and is willing to foresake stats and hand the ball off.
As for the trade, if they would give a bit more, no problem!
PS: Imo, Hasselbeck would provide the Bills with a FAR greater chance of winning than JP.
-
It has been a long day and I am tired, but here it goes......
1) Bills sign Hasselbeck as a UFA.
2) They trade JP to Seattle for a 1st round draft pick.
3) Bills win the superbowl.
Blast away, because I am tired and have to work tomorrow.

With all due respect NBF, it is a mistake to announce that you have a gun.
1) You are giving away your hand, and may cause a person to go for their own.
2) You leave yourself open for allegations.
