Great signing by the Crimson Tide!!! If this 5th ranked overall player in the 2023 class can develop and stay healthy, it looks like they will be in strong shape with this kid and JC Latham at OT. They also signed a few 4 star guards, one in particulr I am fond of, Miles McVay. It would appear that Saban focused heavily on both lines which is really a big need at this point. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://247sports.com/Article/Kadyn-Proctor-Alabama-Crimson-Tide-football-recruiting-commits-five-star-Nick-Saban-200978991/

Not to piss you off even more lol but iirc, he sat a full season plus 4 games. Eric Steinbach (who turned out to be an excellent left guard and even an adequate LT) was right there to be taken. At the time (not unusual mind you) the Bills were desperate for OL help. Drafting Magahee really sent me over the edge, but not as much as drafting Spiller, McKelvin, and especially Whitner did. Those were tough times for Bills fans!

Have you seen the kid at Georgia? -
In this world I'm living in I see the light Sins are gone, now I know what is wrong and right Morning came on slowly pushing back the night It's good times now that I can see the light On this road I'm walking on I see my way Paradise I'm living for each and every day 'Bout the crossroads of the past, nothing more to say It's good times now but we can see our way

Bryce Young and Will Anderson To Play In Sugar Bowl.....
Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in College Football
Well, I agree that most fans care about the bowl games. Most players? I'll buy that as well, but certainly not the ones who stand to make millions of dollars, unless they get hurt. And when/if they get hurt and lose out on millions, should they say, "well, most fans are happy, so it was a smart move to play in a bowl game with no playoff implications?" Below is a probably incomplete list of players opting out of bowl games in 2022. How many are from Alabama? My contention is that when the best players opt out of a game, the game is not real (for lack of a better word). There are no chances for a championship in the game between Kansas State and Alabama. Bryce and Will are going to play, but for how long? At least 12 Alabama players entered the transfer portal. It doesn't really prove anything if we beat them or if they beat us. Alabama is just not the same team as it was in Septenber. I care more about seeing Ty Simpson and Jalen Milroe begin their battle for the starting QB spot, not to mention 2 rookie prospects. I want to watch the freshmen at OLB and Jamarion Miller at RB. Anyway, I truly do appreciate the dialogue. Happy holidays to you and yours. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10058450-notable-cfb-players-sitting-out-of-2022-bowl-games -

Promo, your advice to the OP was kind and sound. I was only being a clown. What struck me as funny was the thought of me walking a mile in a blizzarrd at my age.

Bryce Young and Will Anderson To Play In Sugar Bowl.....
Bill from NYC replied to Bill from NYC's topic in College Football
It woud really shock me if Bryce comes back. As I said, he will be a top 5 pick in 2023. Many mocks have him as the #1 pick and while I don't necessarily agree, this would seem to be too much money to pass up. I'm talking about lifetime security for a level headed, great kid that he is. Bryce has nothing left to prove. A case could be made for Bryce to have won the Heisman Trophy this season too. He played injured, and behind a so-so offensive line. I wish him nothing but success and good health, and do not care about the Orange Bowl. Imo it is up to Coach Saban to preserve his future well being by removing him early. PS: If you watch the game, check out QB Ty Simpson! I have been wrong many times before but I predict greatness from this kid. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
This is a great suggestion, especially in blizzard conditions.

And I am really surprised by their decision. I know from his press conference that Saban is glad. He also implied that he will not leave them in for a long time but the decision is still a brave one and speaks to their character imo. These kids (if healthy) are both almost certain to be top 5 draft picks). They have contributed very much to The University of Alabama Football Team and school. They are wonderful leaders and role models with or without this affirmative decision. When I watch this game, I will be holding my breath that neither of them gets injured and loses out on millions of dollars. Numerous star players on other teams are opting out and I cannot say that I blame them. I have seen a few college players get injured late in the season and it has effected both their draft status and career. My point, which I have tried to make before is that bowl games are virtually meaningless to most players. With the playoffs expanding to 12 games, they will soon become a complete waste of time and risk for even more players. What do you folks think about bowl games having any real meaning in terms of winning or losing them?

Taking into consideration that the injury rate is 100%, I am inclined to agree with the above. -

Where was the best hamburger you’ve ever ate?
Bill from NYC replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
Several years ago we went into Manhattan to see the Carol King play on an April day. When it was over we went across the street to a pub/restaurant that advertised a burger made of steak tail from a porterhouse. When we could afford it, every once in a while my mother used to buy big steaks and have the butcher grind the tail and make hamburgers from it. It was nothing short of exquisite. To make things even better, the restaurant was televising the yearly Alabama "A" Game. It as the first time I saw John Metchie play.Talk about a perfect day!!!!! If there are any butchers out here, why is it all but impossible to find steak tail these days? -

Why did Saleh continue to play White
Bill from NYC replied to FLBillsGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
He would probably be a Drew Brees quality star, or at least something approaching that. Chandler was a great quarterback who got beat like a drum (after letting go of beautiful, accurate passes) in virtually every game in which he played. With the new rules he might have played until 40. -

OK.....I just have ugly memories of Schobel being our only pass rusher and lining up a mile wide. This, and Dareus standing there waving his arms like a trained seal instead of penetrating. It was rather sickening, no? -
I am not fully convinced that the OP's question is specifically about football. I mean, this is the "Off The Wall" Board!"
