I picked the Bills over Cinci 48-10.

We are "all ridiculous?" OK, thanks. Now do as you said you will and go get lost.

A day later, I'm still in the camp of cleaning house.

No problem. That is what the 1st Round is for. Just ask McClappy! Ah, let's keep him around. Like Marv Levy said, "you can't have too many corners." Maybe we should bring him AND Tre back! -
If they didn't luck into Josh Allen (after trading the Mahomes pick for a corner) they would have probably went another 17 years or more.
-
Perhaps but I don't think so. As I said above, I strongly believe that McDermott has control over the draft. As always, jmo.

Bill O’Brien - thoughts about him as OC?
Bill from NYC replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am all but 100% certain that he will not be back at Alabama. His contract expires in February and I don't see any scenario in which he stays in Tuscaloosa. None whatsoever. -
Is the OL better? Are the WRs better? The idea is to protect your future HOF QB John. It would be really cool if Josh didn't have to be the Bills leading rusher, no? McDermott should be held accountable.
-
Yes, and instead of protecting him they traded up for another first round corner and consistently failed to provide adequate weapons and especially protection for him. I too am for keeping Beane and ousting McDermott. Imo, McDermott is popular imo because of: 1) Josh Allen (although McDermott lucked out with Josh after trading the Mahomes pick and drafting a corner). Josh won us lots of games. 2) Look at the stumblebums that he followed. My grandmother would look pretty good at head coach if she replaced Rex Ryan, etc. 3) His use of the term "process" (which he stole from Nick Saban) made him sound like some kind of sage, which he is not imo. Fans bought into this jargon. I for one believe that McDermott has far more control over the team than Beane, and this isn't that unusual. Kirwan on Sirius said that when he was GM, Coach Carroll was his "boss." I am NOT saying that McDermott is the worst coach in the NFL. I do however think that replacing him would probably be a smart move for the Bills. As always, jmo.

Time to go all in on the OL - The grades
Bill from NYC replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have the best and most talented QB in the history of the franchise. Our defense (including our supposedly star studded secondary) got dog walked by an inferior team with 3 subs on the OL, and our offense (especially the perpetually inept OL) couldn't do jack siht.....this at home. Yes, this game pissed me off. -

Agreed and I even think that you overrated Davis. Jmo. Yes, and lots of dead cap space. -

The year before the Colts drafted Peyton Manning they drafted LT Tarik Glenn in round 1 and RT Adam Meadows in round 2. These were 2 excellent OTs. It works. Agreed and I'm not at all thrilled with McDermott. Jmo. -

Exactly! Seeing posts like this and so many others in this thread makes me feel better about this horrific loss. Seriously, this loss bothered me more than almost any game in the last 30 or so years. -

Morse has a very serious concussion history and needs to be replaced and soon. Yes, keep Dawkins but at this point he might look better at guard, I don't know. -

I don't deny that the scheme sucks. I just don't think that the Bills ever really cared about blocking. I think that it goes back to Ralph wanting to draft running backs to put "fannies in the seats," and then the Levy/Jauron "play not to lose" mentality which focused primarily on defensive backs. Either way, thanks for the dialogue Bro! -

I respect your opinion very much but I have been hearing the same sad song for almost 30 years. Remember when Mouse McNally was going to make our OL great? Folks were saying that it was only bad because of the "scheme." Yeah well the line got worse with McNally. Levy and Jauron obviously valued the secondary above all else. Even Butler drafted Leodis McKelvin in round 1, passing on 2 great blockers who were desperately needed. McDermott? As I said in another thread, he is a bald Dick Jauron. McDermott wanted a corner just so bad he traded away the pick for Mahomes and drafted one. Until I see it, I refuse to believe that the Bills will ever place adequate resources into blocking. Our blockers were beaten half to death yesterday. Did you see the Eagles OL trample the Giants? It works. Here were our most recent 1st Round offensive line draft picks: 1) Eric Wood - 2009 (With a pick we received for trading away HOF LT Jason Peters, who we lucked into) 2) Mike Williams - 2004 3) Ruben Brown 1995 Excellent post by the OP. -
Agreed. This team should be built to win in the elements and I mean ALL elements to include strong winds, rain, and snow. Did you see what the Eagles did to the Giants with their brutal offensive line? I am an Alabama fan and I'm telling you that Josh Allen is 10x better than Jalen Hurts but he needs more protection and better weapons. Some things will never change. 😟

I’m over this defensive scheme. Bring in a new DC.

Tough to argue with the above. -

Of course not. Frazier certainly needs to go. The fact is that we just got dog walked at home by an inferior team that was even depleted by injuries. They ran over us and completed passes at will. This is unacceptable by any stretch. Tbh I am surprised that you excluded McDermott from criticism. He needs too needs to be held accountable for this defense, as well as for his Levy/Jauron method of team building. We need a team that can and will overpower our opponents, especially in the elements. McDermott, just like his subpar predecessors emphasizes defensive backs. How is that working out? -
Is McDermott Really Marty Shottenheimer in Disguise?
Bill from NYC replied to Barnaby Wilde's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nah.....he is more of a bald Dick Jauron. -

I blame McDermott more than Beane. I can't prove it but imo McDermott has far more power than Beane wrt the draft. -

Are you sure? Marv Levy once said that "you can't have too many corners." 🙄 Are you sure that Bald Dick Jauron won't use our best resources to revamp the secondary? 😒
