  1. Correct. I confused the Jets with seattle. Thanks.
  2. I remember a similar quote by a Bills GM in 2008, mentioning how excited he would be if Leodis McKelvin was still there. Does this ring a bell?
  3. Not necessarily. Often the coaches have more power than the GM. For example. Pat Kirwin (former Seattle GM and currect Sirius radio host refers to Pete Carrol as his "boss" while at Seattle. In the case of the Bills, McDermott was there first and got the job for Beane. Remember, Beane wasn't there when McDermott traded away (and was WAY undercompensated for) the #10 pick in 2017. That was the selection with which KC took Mahomes. We in turn grabbed the 8th defensive back in that draft after trading down 17 spots. McDermott was fleeced, and this showed how he values defensive players above all else and it didn't stop there. Josh Allen is great. He is a generational talent imo. McDermott drafts defensive backs and undersized DTs in lieu of blockers and receivers. McDermott is a good field coach. His problem is that he has a dose of the Levy/Jauron disease which is not conducive to winning Super Bowls. He needs to be stripped of his power wrt the draft. This is jmo. I do not necessarily expect you to agree but you asked. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Most of you folks never heard of this relatively obscure band, but they were great imo. This is "Shadows and Echos" by IF on the album IF2.......
  5. Dressed myself in green I went down to the sea Try to see what's going down Maybe read between the lines Had a feeling I was falling, falling, falling Turned around to see Heard a voice calling, calling, calling You was comin after me Back to me
  6. I don't think that this is a racial issue. Two people were killed. Btw, did those deceased happen to be black? The entire incident is horrible and regrettable regardless of color.
  7. I don't have a huge problem with McDermott as a field coach. I do however deplore his method of team building and think that he has far too much say wrt the draft. Jmo.
  8. Is it OK for him to disagree with you?
  9. Joel Buchsbaum was THE best imo. I'm not completely sure how he did it but he was so good that GMs would seek him out from what I understand.
  10. Any draft in which Anthony Richardson (and his career 14 starts iirc) is talked about as a potential top 10 pick is VERY weak.
  11. That night we fell in love Beneath the stars above That was a lovely summer night Remember then, then Then, then, then Remember Re-mem-mem Re-mem-mem-mem-ber Re-mem-mem Re-mem-mem-mem-ber Re-mem-mem Re-mem-mem-mem-ber Then, then, remember then
  12. Your post would appear to shield McDermott from any blame. I respect your opinion but cannot understand how or why you would do so.
  13. I don't mind when you say, that you're going away I just don't wanna be lonely I don't care if we share, only moments a day I just don't wanna be lonely I'd rather be loved, needed Depended on to give the love I can't get When you're gone When you're gone I just don't wanna be lonely
  14. Really? In 2017 (the year before Beane was hired), the Bills traded down from 10 to 27 in the first round. They, while in need of a QB, still traded that #10 (Mahomes), were undercompensated for such a drastic move, and proceeded to draft the 8th defensive back taken in round one. Can't blame Beane for that; he wasn't here yet. Upon arrival, Beane drafted Josh Allen. We are just so lucky that he was able to! Looking at the subsequent drafts, do you not see the defensive influence? This is all of the proof I need that McDermott (not Beane) has the power in that duo. I think that the blatant error of prioritizing defense (especially the secondary) clearly lies on the shoulders of McDermott. As we speak, the Bills are weak at the OL and WR positions. This is Levy/Jauronesque and inexcusable, especially while having our first franchise QB since Jim Kelly (and I think that Josh is clearly superior). As always, the above is jmo. I am not trying to have any viscious verbal arguments lol. Thanks for the dialogue.
  15. Do you think that Frazier had full autonomy wrt play calling? I for one do not and do believe that McDermott was/is calling the shots.
  16. 1) I think that we are on the same page. Frazier is being used as a scapegoat for McDermott. 2) I don't believe for one second that Beane has, or ever did have the authority to fire McDermott. I firmly believe that the opposite applies and that McDermott has FAR more power than Beane, thus the many strange, defensively focused draft picks. As always, jmo.
  17. Yes, more OL was the answer. I must however admit that other than Collins, 1995 was one of their better drafts. They had some good picks in addition to Brown. In round 3 they drafted Marlon Kerner and Damien Covington. Their careers were destroyed by injuries. I sincerely believe that Covington would have been as good as London Fletcher. He had potential to be great! In round 4 they took Ken Irvin who was definitely worth a 4th. In round 5 they took John Holocek, a very nice LB. Iirc he had an injury history when we drafted him but he was very good until his body gave way. I remember a game saving tackle he made against NE on the last play of a game. In round 7 they selected Darrick Holmes, who was talented and really a fun player to watch. The man ran as if his life was at stake, or hell was chasing him. Seriously, do you recall how frantic he looked? I don't remember what happened to him. Time flies, no?
  18. Even the RBs that they selected (when first round RBs were not such a bad idea) were terrible moves. The reason for this is that they would draft running backs and place them behind absolutely horrid offensive lines. It is something of a Bills tradition (except for a season or 2). In 1997 the Bills drafted Antwain Smith with pick #23. His career was nothing to get excited about but again, the blocking was pathetic. Also, if they really wanted a RB, they could have drafted Corey Dillon who was taken 20 picks later (#43), and was a VERY good player. Not bad enough? Adam Meadows (a fine RT for many years) was drafted with pick #48. The Bills truly were in need of a player like this. In 2003, in one of the all time dumb draft decisions (however not THE dumbest) the Bills ever made, they selected Willis MaGahee at #23. His injury in college was just so bad that he missed 1 1/4 seasons of football before he played a single down for the Bills. I know that you are against first round guards and I get it, but I was watching that draft screaming for the Bills to draft Eric Steinbach, who went to the Bengals with the first pick of round two. It turned out that Steinbach was an excellent guard and also filled in at LT and wasn't so bad. Ironically, much of what fans are saying now is the same thing we heard way back when, such as "MaGahee is good!" Yes, he was good. Smith might have been OK too but this was an improper way to build a football team, even back then. Now we have McDermott (notice I didn't say Beane) chasing first round corners and undersized DTs. I hope that it stops. It HAS to!!! We need to protect who I consider to be the most talented QB in football, bar none. Josh can and will win us a Super Bowl if they bring him weapons and protect him. It's just that simple imo. End of rant. 🙂🏈🙂 https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/teams/bills

  20. SOOOO True!!!!!
  21. I really do hope that you get yourself together and feel better. Thank you SDS for the ignore list.
  22. He does. Part of the reason for this is that his team is fresh and rested after playing the patsies in the ACC. He puts everybody in the game and rests his starters when they are way ahead. I am not saying that he is a bad coach; he isn't. I do however think that it is to his advantage to stay where he is and beat up on all of the weak teams. Of course, jmo.
  23. Sorry that you had to go through all that.
  24. Saban has continuously called for an all SEC schedule. As far as teams outside the SEC, most teams refuse to play the Crimson Tide. You of course are too consumed by jealousy and hate to see this but it's no big deal at all. There are many other simarily closed minded, myopic, hate filled people in the world. You are far from original. Good luck.
  25. You never care for secrets I confide For you I'm just an ornament, somethin' for your pride Always runnin', never carin', that's the life you live Stolen minutes of your time were all ya had to give And I think it's gonna be all right Yeah, the worst is over now The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball
