Turning back the pages to the times I love best I wonder if she'll ever do the same? Now the thing that I call living Is just being satisfied With knowing I got no one left to blame Carefree highway I've got to see you my old flame Carefree highway You've seen better days The morning after blues From my head down to my shoes Carefree highway Let me slip away, slip away on you

Sitting in a transit all night long Playing clubs and rocking right on The road's much too long since I've been wasting my time Wish I was home again sipping my wine And I'm gone, gone, gone, I don't care 'Cause I'm gone, gone, gone I don't care, it's where I'm from I'm on the road again

Would you even consider the fact that you seem to be demanding that posters agree with you? I am NOT trying to be mean but seriously, some posters are unhappy with the way certain things are being done and post about it. I have been critical about the way McDermott manages the draft. Do you want me to say how much I love all of his picks? Am I whining if I don't blindly approve of his every move? I think that McDermott is a good game manager but I disagree with his method of team building. Now, is he better than the garbage we have had in Buffalo for more than 20 years? Of course. That said, I don't feel compelled to praise his sometimes counter productive moves (in my opinion of course). If everyone agreed with me, you, or really any other poster 100% of the time, this place really would suck. I happen to think that at this point it does not.

Pretty decent synopsis I must say.

Well then I consider myself lucky. Thank you for gracing me and the other posters with your presence.

I think that NIL will create circumstances where more players will get in trouble. Young men in GREAT shape will be out there with hundreds of thousands of dollars in their pocket, attending schools with 15,000 women. Many will just party down, to include weed, alcohol, going to clubs, and getting women pregnant. None of these things are terribly conducive to athletic or academic success. Btw, I am not insulting the players. Put me in the above situation as a kid and I would probably be partying with them. I am also not saying that players should not be paid. I do however make the case that some, perhaps many players will not be helped by NIL. Not every kid has the discipline of Bryce Young. Oh, and I do not have the answers to make this system right, but perhaps they should start with contracts of some sort. AFAIK, players can collect NIL money and then just leave their school. I am not completely sure how it works.

Eat Crow: Your most embarrassing Bills opinions
Bill from NYC replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
The thing is, at one point he was really special. Your take on his skill was not invalid. -
Screw Hill. The Dolphins need more character guys like LeSean McCoy, who was defended up and down on this board.

I thought that RJ was going to be a great QB. I also didn't care that much when we stupidly let Pat Williams walk. I figured it would be good for the cap. 😦 -

Sorry, I can't let this post go without comment. In 2009, the Bills (in a rather lackluster draft) used the 10th pick in round 2 on safety Jairus Byrd, who had 9 interceptions in his rookie season. Most Bills Fans had him destined for Canton. I even thought that he (a safety)was a great pick! 😃😮 One poster on the board felt otherwise and that was you. You went as far as to say that most of his interceptions were due to lucky tips or even being out of position. Well, guess who was "right?" Byrd finished the rest of his career (7 years) with 16 more total interceptions. He wound up being a so-so player. Remember how thrilled the board was when we hired Jauron? I do and you correctly claimed that he was a disaster, this after a strong (or at least decent) couple of seasons with the Bears. You said before he got here that he would have the Bills "play not to lose." Yes, Jauron was unthinkably bad. So you were wrong about JP? Big deal. You were on the money with countless other takes and predictions (often going fully against the grain) and I wish that you would list some of them as well. Oh and keep those predictions coming!!!👍 -
Make me shine just a little bit, just a little bit (With just a touch of love) It's in my mind just a little bit, just a little bit (You got to) Keep me high, baby, just a little bit, just a little bit (With just a touch of love) Can we spend some time? (Can we spend some time?)

He was and I am obviously fond of Diggs but I do also think that the Vikings are happy with that trade.

Thanks, I would like to read that article. And while I do respect the moves that were made this offseason, I remain just a bit peeved over the years of neglect wrt WRs and the OL. For the record, I think that you and others will grow to appreciate Damien Harris this season. He is by no means a superstar but between his running, receivng, and his bg time willingness to block, he might be capable of winning us a game or 2.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree. I have watched Hurts since his first game as a freshman. Of course he has improved since then and he is a tireless worker, and by all accounts a really great guy. That said, he is not in a class with Josh Allen imo. Hurts is a great runner but Josh is clearly superior. In terms of passing, Jalen is a good passer; Josh makes circus throws. He can throw 40 yard out patterns as easliy as Dan Marino, with even more arm strength. Josh could probably throw Hurts 30 or 40 yards. If Allen was on the Eagles they would be unbeatable. Hurts would have had problems on the Bills. Hey, the above is jmo but I don't even think that it is close.

I don't think it is as simple as you make it appear. Since 2017 (when McDermott took over the team) the Bills have had 7 first round draft choices (including of course the one in which he traded away the Mahomes pick and drafted a cornerback). 5 of them were used on defensive players and 2 went to the offensive side. Out of the 5 defenders chosen he actually traded up twice. In 2020 we had no first round pick and our second round pick was yet another defensive player. It seems to me that this is a very odd and rather dumb way to build a team that has a quarterback with generational talent. I like what he did in the 2023 draft and I hope that it works because McDermott has neglected the offense, or at the very least dedicated too much of our best resources (huge contracts and 1st round draft choices) to the defense. For decades the Bills have neglected the offensive line and it has never made any sense. Now, I truly do hope that his offseason moves to bolster the OL will be enough, 6 years into his stay here. The Bills need better blocking and receivers. They need to provide Josh with protection and weapons, not focus on defense in an offensive sport. https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/teams/bills

Here is a bit of unsolicited advice about how to survive on TBD, some of which I had to learn the hard way: 1) Stay off of PPP. You can spend hours on that forum and pour your heart out, but the chances of you changing the mind of even one poster are virtually nonexistant. Going on PPP opens you up to hate, and perhaps even a bit more scrutiny from the moderators who might not share your views. It isn't worth the time and energy that you will surely waste. 2) Do not single those out who you disagree and act as if they should post according to your likes, dislikes, and opinions. I think that McDermott is a pretty good field coach who has too much power in the Bills organization, drafts too much defense and not enough blocking and wide receivers. Do you now hate me? Do you want me to "stay away" because we disagree? Please. 3) Do not get into disputes with the moderators. They have the power and it is like picking a fight with Mike Tyson. The truth is that these are people who dedicate their time to keeping this place sane and orderly, and are not getting rich doing so. I have disagreed with a couple over the decades that I have been here but the fact is they have done a very good job overall. Without them, this place would be a jungle and a war zone. 4) Do take advantage of the block feature. It is easy to use and it will save you from getting involved in ongoing disputes, people who get you angry, and even those who follow you around and taunt you. I had one of the latter. Notice the word "had." 5) Last but not least, be open minded about football. Don't toss aside your convictions but accept the fact that you can and will learn from many posters. I am not going to name names and embarrass people but trust me, there are posters here who know more about football than you (and I am not including myself in this group, being mostly unfamiliar with your posts). In any event good luck and I hope this helps.

Miami Super Fan TUANON Passes Away at Young Age RIP
Bill from NYC replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
>>>>Well, yeah.. virtue signaling is all the rage now. How else can the world know I'm better than you if I don't donate to these random people and tell you that you're a scumbag if you don't. If Tua actually gave a damn he could easily donate more than 10k. He's just doing it for the optics like everyone else. <<<< The above is your quote. I am not by any means "putting words in your mouth." I would never do that nor would I have any desire to do so. I will however say that I am in fact sorry for responding to such drivel, and I wish you well.
