Herbert deal signed : 262M - 5 yrs extension
Bill from NYC replied to TBBills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think that the NFLPA will at some point agree a cap on QB salaries. They capped the rookies to help veteran players and it didn't work, whereas most (if not almost all) of the money went specifically to QBs. At the rate things are going they will soon make 100 million per season. The contracts given to Herbert and Hurts (and I suppose 90 year old Rogers) are just insane. I am not a financial expert but as a layman, I cannot see how the current system can last. Maybe it can and the QB salaries will continue unbridled escalation, but it does seem like the RBs and some other players (the off. lineman on Dallas) are getting pissed off. Anyway, just a preseason thought as the season approaches. -
For those still upset we didn’t trade up for Jordan Addison…

It would certainly appear so. Something like this certainly would indicate poor impulse control. I would be surprised if he does NOT have another similar incident before too long. -
I just can't believe that this is 49 years old. In Donald Fagen's biography, it says that Fagan gave a note to the wife of his college professor (Rikki), asking her out. She declined. I love this song, their biggest hit.....

He is a good player but that is quite a bit of money, no? Didn't they also bring in 33 year old Gilmore? I'm sure he will play very hard. 🙄 I heard on Sirius today that Dallas has allocated huge money to the defense, and that the coach claims that her wants to run more, throw less, and rely more on defense. Good luck with that losing philosophy.

The place owned by Hilton.

Thanks!!! Our hotel seems to be pretty close to a brewery with live music. They even have a riverboat that serves breakfast and lunch. I truly appreciate the info.

A goddess on a mountain top Was burning like a silver flame The summit of beauty and love And Venus was her name … She's got it Yeah, baby, she's got it Well, I'm your Venus I'm your fire, at your desire

I made reservations up there at a hotel on the lake. The pictures look great. When I take trips like this my primary goal is to relax, enjoy great scenery, and eat good food. I have never stayed in this reigon before and was wondering if any of you know much about the area. Thanks.

Yeah, like I said, you two are a bit too polite and respectful. You just don't get personal enough. Also, using the ignore option would tend to disqualify contestants.

I agree 100% with @mrrags. It isn't very tough to blame McDermott.

You to me Are sweet as roses in the morning And you to me Are soft as summer rain at dawn, in love we share That something rare The sidewalks in the street The concrete and the clay beneath my feet Begins to crumble But love will never die Because we'll see the mountains tumble Before we say goodbye My love and I will be In love eternally That's the way Mmm, that's the way it's meant to be

Not to split hairs but check out the great players drafted by the Colts (to include a great LT and RT) just before they drafted Peyton Manning. And iirc, it even took Peyton a while to settle in. https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/teams/colts

I think that you may have misunderstood me. Hurts had a fine career at Bama. He was a leader and a winner. He was pulled in the title game because he wasn't getting it done that night and Tua won the game with his heroic pass in OT against a loaded UGA team. That said, Jalen got them to that game. I am a fan of his. The point that I might have failed to make is that his Eagle team is LOADED with talent. More talent than any other team. Look at his receivers and his OL (and btw I was screaming for the Bills to draft Landon Dickerson). I have nothing but fond wishes for JH and with his attidude and work ethic I think that he will more than likely continue to improve.

Dominant in what way? Of course other conferences also have great players. Teams? No comparison. The big difference is on both lines, especially the OL.The overall defenses are also clearly worse in the Big 12 and every other conference except perhaps the Big 10. Did you see what UGA did to TCU? Or what a not so great Alabama team did to Kansas State? Talk radio tried to pump up both of these games as close contests. It should even get worse with Texas (who I think is underrated) and Oklahoma joining the SEC. Of course, the above is jmo.

I don't think that anybody who knows anything about JH would question his great attitude, dedication, intelligence, or the fact that he is talented. As far as the "Alabama thing," c'mon CB! The Big 12 is a MUCH easier conference to play in. This is beyond question. Much of the reason for this is weaker defenses. Don't get me wrong; he made the smart move. He was not going to start over Tua because (at least at the time if not currently), Tua was a clearly superior passer. I am thrilled that he got to the SB and wish he would have won it. He took the benching in the title game SO well that he deserves success. He is a good man and I am glad that he plays in ideal circumstances at Philly.

I saw every play Hurts was in at Alabama to include his first pass as a freshman. Jalen is a very smart and dedicated player. He always has been. He gains big yardage on the ground without blazing speed. In fact he is incredibly strong for his size. He is a very good passer, not a great one. To put it in context, a pre injury Tua was a clearly superior passer. Now..... I cannot say this for sure. The thing is, Howie Roseman is 10x better than McDermott at building an NFL team. It just isn't close. The Eagles are great at both the OL and the DL. Not only that they are stacked at WR. I can't even imagine what Josh could accomplish if surrounded by that much talent. In summary, even if Jalen were to win the next two Superbowls, he will never be as good or as talented as Josh. Not ever. If Josh was on the Eagles and faced KC for the title, I would place a very large bet on the Eagles, and I am a penny ante better when I do bet.

There should be a category for "Best Feuds," to include ongoing arguments and even stalking (which is sanctioned in some instances). @BADOLBILZ and @Alphadawg7 should get consideration, but they seem a bit too polite and subdued to win the award. Perhaps trophies or other small prizes should be handed out at a tailgate. I am thinking one for each category (perhaps cans or bottles of beer), and the winners could say a few words. If winners cannot attend, the awards could be accepted by proxy.
