In real life Josh Allen had an NFL average game yesterday.
Bill from NYC replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. The team lost not because of Josh, simply because of the way it was constructed. Can there still be any doubt of this? -
The only good news I can think of after this game is that at least we are all staying calm.

I am a Steely Dan freak. The Grateful Dead and anything Steve Winwood are the other artists I enjoy the most but NOT Dead and Co. or whatever they call themselves now. Maher is good but that is not Grateful Dead to me. I did however really like Furthur with John Kadlecik and saw several of their concerts. Jmo.

The Tide was two different teams in the first and second half. I actually thought that Saban might pull Milroe at halftime. In the second half the defense really took over. The DL is MUCH better than last season. The secondary is deep and talented. The linebackers are spectacular, and I am not saying this because I am a fan. They lost Will Anderson and are not only a little better than last season, they are MUCH better and MUCH deeper, and all of them make plays. Is some of this due to getting rid of Golding and hiring Steele as DC? Absolutely, but; they have AT LEAST 6 LBs that are going to be in the NFL. I am serious. I remember a comment (by a good poster here that I will not name) after the Texas debacle that stated that the only players worth looking at for the draft were the place kicker and the punter. Nonsense. This team is STACKED with talented players on both sides, to include the top RT in college football (JC Latham) imo. The problem with this team is at QB. If Hurts, Tua, Mac, or Bryce was playing QB this would probably not lose a game to anybody. Replacing Kiffen and Sarkisian at OC is impossible, and the jury is still out on Rees. Anyway, for those who enjoy college football and defense, do check out the Crimson Tide in the second half if the SEC Channel shows a rerun. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Times "extended service plans" actually paid off

We bought an expensive Samsung refrigerator approx. five years ago and purchased a warranty. Within the first 2 years it had to be repaired 7 times. It sounded as if there was a Harley Davidson in my kitchen. My wife actually found a website that had other consumers complaining about this product. To their credit, Samsung refunded our money. Approx. two years ago, we purchased a Frigadare for around $2,700, plus the cost of a warranty. The technician was here twice for this other piece of garbage. The first tech said that he had to order parts. We waited 3 weeks and the second guy came and said that our repair needed at least $1,800 woth of parts, and he might find more after he removes some part. This took place yesterday. He wrote a report saying that we need a replacement and we will find out Monday what will happen. Certainly it will be replaced with another fancy looking pile of junk, and who knows how long it will take? This after I replaced 80 dollars worth of filters last month. My friend's son in-law has a business repairing these things and told me that they ALL suck, and to always have a warranty. All of these worthless (imo) bells and whistles cause the refrigerators to break. The ones that I used to buy with a freezer on top and the fridge on the bottom were fine and lasted 15 years. I don't even know if you can buy one like that anymore. In any event, my sincere advice is to buy the warranty on these expensive junk boxes and get the longest one they will sell. Fwiw -
I agree with the top sentence 100!!! However, the last sentence woluld seem to contradict the first. Think about it GB. Are you sure that McDermott has never overridden Beane since 2018, especially given the focus on defense? McDermott's fingerprints would appear to be all over those defensive picks, or so it would clearly seem.

Alabama - 8 1/2 over Tennessee. The money is going on Tennessee; the game started at 9 1/2. The Bama QB is talented but VERY shaky and really hurts the team at times, and I do not like the OC at all. That said, Bama has a bye on 10/28. This is a do or die game for them in terms of the playoffs. The defense is better than it has been in several years. The offense is STACKED with talent however LT has been a bit of an issue (although much of this falls upon the QB). I think that Bama covers but not by THAT much. I was at the Alabama/Arkansas game last week. Their receivers are very good and getting wide open. If the OC can come up with plays that coincide with what QB Jaylen Milroe can do, Bama wins by 28. can he? I really don't know. What I do know is that Hurts, Tua, Mac, or Bryce would be putting up 40 or 50 points tomorrow. I am up a few dollars and will make a smally play on Bama -the 8 1/2. No strong feelings about the over/under. Jmo, don't hate if they lose LOL!!!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!

Do you think that Beane could override McDermott on a draft day decision? If not, what you are describing is NOT equality. Of course many people have input but I doubt that there is or ever has been one team in NFL history where there wasn't one person who ultimately wielded the most power in the organization. It isn't possible imo. For instance, if the 2 men disagee on a first round trade/selection and cannot come to a mutual agreement, what do you think happens? Do they toss a coin? Will they simply skip the pick? This is not the same as buying groceries with my wife at the supermarket, and even there; she would make the decision. I cannot understand your reluctance to what is simply how life (and certainly business) works.

I am not saying that this was the case for I do not in any way know, but; do you think that it was possible that the area which you describe had a high crime rate and warranted more patrols than areas with a lesser crime rate? if this was the case, does it still "suck" Augie? Jeez, folks complain about not enough police protection AND too much. Please, tell us exactly how this police department should have allocated their manpower to meet your exact yens and specifications. Despite the above, I must say that your concern for a better world does warm my heart.

Caleb Williams demanding part ownership

Perfect summary, saved me a post. -
I really do admire most of your takes about the Bills and football in general but I am not wrong just because you declare that I am. After McDermott traded away the pick for Mahomes (being WAY undercompensated for moving down 17 spots), he of course used the first round pick on a corner to play in a zone. This in a QB driven league on a team with almost 2 decades of QB issues. After this, most of his early picks were on the defensive side and he even traded up for another 1st round corner to play in a zone. He also gave huge extentions to defensive players and I'm quite certain that you know all of this. meanwhile we have Diggs at WR and who else? Of course there are also OL issues. Disagreement is great but correcting someone as if you are a strict teacher isn't so great. Unless you were/are in the war room listening to Beane and McDermott, what you post on this issue is just like what I post.....an OPINION. Did you catch the "jmo" after my post?

McD and Daboll hate each other probably 🤣
Bill from NYC replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
He belongs back in Alabama as the OC where he was spectacular, especially compared to what they have now. -
Not necessarily fired but he should be demoted in the sense that his is no longer in charge of the draft. I know that most folks believe that he is not in charge but his first season here (before the arrival of Beane) was a clear indicator that he was/is and looking at his early round picks, nothing has changed. Hey, jmo.

Blind man running through the light of the night With an answer in his hand Come on down to the river of sight And you can really understand Red lights flashing through the window in the rain Can you hear the sirens moan? White cane lying in a gutter in the lane If you're walking home alone Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning Find someone who's turning And you will come around

Glad to see you here!!!

Another Trade Target - Harrison Phillips - Minnesota Vikings

I would rather not use even more significant resources on defense until we are REALLY happy with the OL and WRs. Jmo. -
