Can We Get Rid Of Aaron Williams Quick Enough?
Bill from NYC replied to BuffBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree. I don't care one bit what he tweets. But make no mistake, he is a lousy player. He is just another example of wasted resources by inept management. He can tweet away for all I care, but hopefully while on another team. Justin Rogers is probably a better player. -
Rob Johnson Interview With Rich Gaenzler
Bill from NYC replied to Wayne Fontes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Promo doesn't hate Flutie. He will simply defend every single stupid move ever made by the Bills, no matter how much we lose. I admire his loyalty, and this stops me from confronting him with facts as much as I am tempted to at times. A part of me wishes that I could think like him. -
Bills' Worst Draft Ever...Try and Top this one

He was very good, and he too was lost to injury. I think that 1995 was one of the best for the Bills in recent memory. -
Bills' Worst Draft Ever...Try and Top this one
Bill from NYC replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I vehemently disagree. The 2006 draft was stacked with talent on positions of great need for the Bills. A draft should also be judged by who a team passed on. Levy/Jauron passed on great players in 2006 in order to draft primarily scrubs, and gave up an early 3rd round pick in the ugly process. -
Dick Jauron's on the Rams' wish-list
Bill from NYC replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fisher is the head coach, and he's a defense guy. He will implement his scheme and Jauron, a Yale man, will be able to teach it. As for Jauron, he was horrible. He, along with Marv, drafted Whittner at #8, then played him 40 or so yards off of scrimage. Then, he used a #11 on McKelvin, only to put him in a Tampa-2, in which receivers are handed off to safeties. He would even drop Schobel, a legit pass rusher, back into coverage. This team is still trying to recover from the Levy/Jauron Era. They beat this franchise half to death. -
Buddy Nix and addressing the QB position
Bill from NYC replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are fans who could have done a better job than what we have seen from the Bills front office people, and I am being totally serious. In 2006, it might not be possible to do worse than Levy/Jauron. They entered this draft with the #8, and an extra early 3rd round pick. They came away with Donte Whittner, Josh McCargo, and Ashton Youboty, and this draft was stocked with talent. This is only one example. So yes, the Bills usually draft at the level of a teenage kid who watches a little youtube and has a few draft magazines. Sometimes worse. -
Yes. It would be literally insane to trade away picks for Revis, even if he was not coming off of a serious injury. Again, it is very hard for some fans to get past the fact that a player is "good." The more important questions are how many games would Revis win us, and what moves would be prevented by giving Revis the huge bucks. The Bills drafted Gilmore hoping that he would be a shutdown corner. Maybe he will become one. There is ZERO need to allocate huge resources to Revis, or any other corner.

Buddy Nix and addressing the QB position
Bill from NYC replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buddy built an OL for this team after 15 or so years of futility. He is to be hailed for this imo. The thing is, he didn't only miss with Wilson. In 2011, he wasted the second pick in round 2 on a corner who completely, flat out sucks. Then, he took a light in the ass, sub-par linebacker with the 4th pick of round 3. This with Ryan Mallett sitting there. He passed on Kaepernick and Mallett for players who suck, and there is no possible excuse for this. And I don't care what he might have been told by Gailey, scouts, or anyone else. He blew numerous opportunities to make the Buffalo Bills Football Team one that is playoff caliber. There are no excuses for missing on this many opportunities. -
Don Banks of CNNSI has his 1st Mock Draft
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could not possibly agree more. I know that Mallett serious had issues, but he also had 10x the talent of Wilson. It's been years since I saw a human throw a football like this kid. He could go long as good as Bledsoe, and had a better fastball than Kaepernick. -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Bill from NYC replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fwiw, I watched Dysert on youtube, and I think that he does not even look like pro material. Imo he looks like a slower, less instinctive Flutie with a worse arm. Would you want the Bills to draft this kid? -
Ryan Nassib - QB - Syracuse
Bill from NYC replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You just might be elated, because there was a scout on Sirius this morning (I think that his last name is Lande). He said that Nassib might very well go first to KC and if he doesn't, he will not make it past Buffalo. He claimed that deep ball accuracy was a concern, and that several qb coaches that he spoke to said it could be corrected. Just telling you what I heard. -
DREW BLEDSOE VS. FITZPATRICK (stats in b-lo)
Bill from NYC replied to bobobonators's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
VAB, it is good to see you posting again. When we got Drew he was past his prime, and not mobile enough, even in those days. But he also played behind one of the worst offensive lines in the history of football. The Bills had this, poor coaching, and Travis Henry coughing up the football. But Bledsoe had a top 10 arm of all time. He needed a lot more help, but he could still play. And, it's quite coincidental that you mentioned Losman. I heard Ross Tucker on Sirius this morning say how upset he when the Bills replaced Bledsoe with Losman. Back in the day, you and I knew what a stupid move this was. In any event, so did Ross Tucker. -

Mock drafts, experts, and TBD - My thoughts
Bill from NYC replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's hard to tell where you are going with this post. This as you know is a Bills message board. Our team continuosly fails to make the playoffs. Are you suggesting that we stop speculating about the draft? A good draft is the hope that we cling to. And btw, there is no sense patting ourselves on the back about Spiller, or any other selection until we actually win football games. A case can be made that Gilmore is good. Hell, Donte Whitner made the probowl. If a team drafts "good" players and keeps on losing, there are other serious problems, to include draft philosophy and team building strategy. My respectful suggestion is to ignore threads about the draft if they offend and/or bore you. -
The Perfect WR...what we need
Bill from NYC replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best receiver I saw yesterday was Julio Jones. -
How can you be so sure John? Ralph, as a rule, hired long time cronies. He hired Marv when he was more than 80 years old to be the GM, Remember? This led to Jauron, and losing football games. Nix was more of the same. Brandon and Marrone are both from Syracuse, and serve on some sort of committee together. Who do you think hired Marrone? Whaley? Nix? Call me a skeptic, cynic, etc. You would be correct. But I cannot see good news for this football team. We needed a QB and a coach, and there were and are slim pickings at both slots. Giving up isn't an option, so once again we cling to hope that Marrone knows what he is doing, and that we don't, once agan, screw up the draft.

Have to agree with Jerry Sullivan this time
Bill from NYC replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The truth is, Marrone was the questionable hiring. This is NOT to say it can't work, but it's a move that I cannot totally come to grips with, let alone endorse. Not yet, but this can rapidly change. Donnie Henderson will be fine. He is old school, and a very tough guy. I welcome him to the Bills, and float out the possibility that he cannot be any worse than what we had. The DC seems to have a pedigree as well. Mr. Henderson is the very least of our worries as Bills Fans imo. It's ultimately about Marrone, and of course, Brandon. Was Marrone a crony of his? Help me out.....what has Brandon done successfuly other than ban cigarette smoking in designated areas at RWS? Well, now he and Marrone have their chance. We obviously are in desperate need of a QB in order to win. Let's see how they go about this. We need LBs too, but they shouldn't be so hard to get. Call me crazy, but imo there is some talent on this team. And, we are not in a great division. Not at all. If Marrone, Brandon, and Whaley have a clue, it won't take long for us to see it. And yes, the opposite does apply. As Bills Fans, we are used to clinging to hope, and this is where we are once again. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I hear ya, and I could probably talked into a move such as this. But going from 8 to 29 is obviously a HUGE drop. I don't think that I would do it without more compensation than a 1st in 2014, but this is jmo. And btw, I am not so sure how weak this draft is other than the qb position, or so they say. There seems to be a glut of blockers and defensive linemen. Some of them are VERY good. Jones, Warmack, and Fluker are flat out great. Seriously, have you seen these guys? And this is just from one (albeit great) school!!! In any event, your idea is one that I find interesting, if of course the Bills have a qb that they think will last until later on.

Russ Brandon named President/CEO
Bill from NYC replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is an impossible post to argue with. -
Tebow, while as strong as an ox, is a lot slower than the players that I mentioned. And he lacks accuracy. That said, if I ws a jests fan, I would rather enter a season with Tebow than Sanchez as my starting quarterback. Sanchez is as finished as JP Losman. One can see it in his eyes. And I think that there is a place in this league for Tebow as a backup QB.

I don't liken Newton to Kaepernick THAT much. Newton is a monster. CK is a tall guy, but his shoulders are a bit narrow. Cam would seem to have a better chance at being durable, but CK is no joke. And, all it does take is a knee to ruin either one. And btw other than Vick who looks beat up, the qbs who can run like this are young,. These kids will get better throwing the ball, or so it would appear. I am as old school as anyone on this board or close to it, but I think that a trend is starting to appear. Jmo.
