  1. is a good man. He didn't have to do this, but he cares enough about his community and those who reside there to want it to be more safe. I salute him, and I'm glad that a person like this signed for the big bucks. Way to go Mario!!!!! I hope you get 20 sacks next season!!!!! And thank you. http://www.policemag.com/channel/vehicles/news/2013/03/22/nfl-star-gives-houston-pd-dodge-chargers.aspx
  2. We don't know what Mallett will turn out to be, and we do know that Dalton is at minimum, a competent QB. One with room to grow.
  3. And his arm is no great shakes either. I will be surprised if he is drafted at all.
  4. Actually, the Colts drafted LT Takik Glenn and RT Adam Meadows in rounds 1 and 2 the year prior to selecting Peyton Manning. The year before that, they took Marvin Harrison in round 1. Setting up an offense before drafting a qb is possible and can work. The problem is that Buddy passed over QBs to draft Aaron Williams. This was simply a replay of long term stupidity, and it may happen again. They might draft Milliner at #8, but I doubt it. If Vegas was giving odds, I would bet on Nassib going to the Bills, whether or not he is any good, And btw I have no idea if he can or cannot play well in the NFL, but he will sell some tickets.
  5. So he would get revenge against NE by signing with the Bills? OK, gotcha.
  6. No? Gotta disagree SJB. In fact, it looks as if it already has. Levitre was a top guard, and we lost a decent backup. Now is the time to sell tickets. When they hired Marrone, I posted my fear of cronyism (Brandon and Marrone are connected). Watch and see what happens in this draft. Nassib, good or bad, would sell more tickets than any other college player because he played at Syracuse. This is simply my opinion. And he MIGHT be good. But my fear is that this offseason has been, and will be more about profit than team building. They might as well start getting Nassib's jersey ready.
  7. Happy Birthday Brother!!!!!
  8. In the past I would have agreed with you but not today. The prototype OG used to be a total mauler. Now it's a passing league, and Levitre has that left tackle footing. He doesn't pancake his opponents so much, but he gets good angles on the run. This will not help Glenn in terms of his development.
  9. I disagree. Levitre was absolutely in the same class as Ruben Brown. In fact, Levitre was a much better player than Brown on the year that RB left Buffalo.
  10. I might have heard the above somewhere.
  11. How true!!!! People act as if it is just so easy to grab a quality guard. Bill Parcells once said that it's easier to find wide reveivers in the dradt than guards, and no, I do not have a link.
  12. I doubt it. Now it's time to sell tickets. They will HAVE to draft a qb in round 1 imo. And please don't take this post the wrong way KD. I am 100% aware that QB is our biggest need. But now they are backed into a corner where they might very well have to reach for one. JMO!!!!!!
  13. Yes. Do you think that a team such as the Titans signed him because they are stupid? The Bills ran well last season with a qb who wasn't much of a threat. And Levitre was there in every game.
  14. This is horrible news. The Titans got him for a fair price too. He was easily one of our 5 best players. And he was durable and young. This should never have happened.
  15. Thanks. I suppose he feel that he can get a deal which including the bonus, pays more than this in year 1.
  16. In another thread, a poster put up highlights of Trent Edwards. A few of the plays were passes to Fred. I can tell you that he has lost a full step. Seriously, he might not be what we expect/hope for next season.
  17. 2 is low but after free agency and the draft, let's talk about how many games they will win, ok?
  18. John, I must stop you right there. Dialogue with you is actually great, and I will take responsibility that I am unble to get my point across. It must be true. I was accused of crusading by a few idiots on my last :Thoughts" post for what I DIDN'T SAY about Spiller. That didn't bother me. What DID was that a few good posters joined with them. Now, let me make this clear: 1) I DO NOT blame Spiller for the shape of this franchise. 2) i have NO ISSUES with Spiller as a player or a person. I DID admittedly have issues such as these with Whitner. In 2011, you and I coveted different qbs. You liked Dalton; I liked Mallett. Nix skipped over them and Kaep to draft Aaron Williams. THIS is where I place bame. Levy/Jauron in 2006 actually gave up an early 3rd round pick to draft 4 players who sucked and 3 of them were defensive backs.THIS TOO is where I place the blame. As much as you blast Nix, I really think that you are giving him undeserved credit for drafting Spiller. The team has been doing the same thing over and over, and losing games. Spiller is very good. The question remains whether or not he was a good pick. Meanwhile, the Bills W/L record sucks.
  19. John, for the sake of arguement, let's pretend that Spiller was responsible for each and every Bills win since the day he was drafted, ok? What my friend, is their record? When a team wastes it's best resources on RBs and DBs, said team will lose football games. Teams need QBs, pass rushing DEs an LTs. This is how football teams win football games. And wasting top draft choices is the primary reason why the Bills lose football games. Even though Spiller is "good."
  20. John, I am going to make a loose analogy.....McKelvin is the the JP Losman of cornerbacks. It isn't a strict analogy because of LM's ability on returns. I have watched games and saw McKelvin all over his man. The coverage was SO good, I would be expecting a pick, no problem. In a flash, this smothered receiver would catch the football. Please, do admit that you have witnessed this identical scenario time and again. Just like JP in that sense. I saw him hit Evans in full stride from 50 yards away, with little air under the ball. Then, he would have an open receiver 5 yards out and throw either a ground ball, or put it 6 feet or more over his head. McKelvin is one of the fastest players I have ever seen. I cannot think of a wideout who can just smoke him. But even on returns (and he is a fantastic punt returner), it looks as if he misses holes at times. If LM had football instincts, he could be better than even Mel Gray, or perhaps anybody who ever played imo. You can't catch that guy when he gets through a hole. The question becomes, can you count on guys like this? I wouldn't mind the signing and don't care what they pay him. The problem I have is that Levitre is a player who is talented AND can be counted on. He plays hurt, and even switches to other spots on the line when called upon. They shoud have signed Levitre, and THEN worried about Leodis.
  21. The scenario above is probably true, and most definitely scary.
  22. Or at least it would be if he was a good corner.
  23. Absolutely correct.
  24. You are correct (other than a typo, the 13 should be a 23), and I see that you started in 2002. Of those 10 selections, we drafted one RT, one DE, one WR, and one DT. The other 6 first round picks consisted of 3 running backs and 3 defensive backs. Yes, a whopping 60% of our last 10 first round picks were wasted on dbs and rbs. Btw it gets worse. If you go back 5 years before you started (2002) the Bills had 4 first round selections. One was defensive end Eric Flowers. The other 3 consisted of a running back and 2 corners. So by my math, no less than 9 of our last 14 number 1 draft choices have been either running backs or defensive backs. I won't even get into the early second round dbs. Yet, there are people who would actually be happy if we drafted Milliner, or even a safety at #8. Go figure.
