As I said in a previous post, I know little about Michigan. Yolo, Willyville Guy, and many other posters do follow the Big 10 and I hope that they chime in. Your question about UGA is a very good one. I think that Georgia is far superior to Washington. This of course doesn't mean that I am correct. Obviously I am partial to the SEC and lack a great deal of respect for other conferences but yes, UGA is clearly one of the 4 best teams. The above is of course jmo. It is not an all knowing proclamation and I know that the Alabama haters are butt hurt. Still, a few of facts do remain: 1) Georgia won 29 straight games, 2 consecutive national titles, was ranked #1 for most of the season and Alabama defeated them, in Georgia. 2) The last four national titles were won by LSU, Alabama, Georgia, and Georgia. This has to be indicative of something, no? And btw I appreciate the dialogue.

This is impossible to argue with imo. I think that UGA would wipe the floors with Washington and/or FSU. Texas looks great and I think that Coach Sarkisian is one of the best offensive minds that I have ever seen. I don't know much about Michigan and hope that @YoloinOhio will jump in and tell us more about them. He as always been quite accurate in his posts about the Big 10.

I get it. Strength of schedule means little to nothing to you and I clearly understand why. Florida State had a rough time against Louisville, who was beat by Kentucky, a middling at best SEC team. In fact, Louisville gave up 38 points to Kentucky iirc. Florida State is not even close to Georgia and/or Alabama. There is just no comparison. Why didn't FSU jump to the SEC? I think it is safe to assume that they know that they would struggle to be a .500 team. I am not saying that Alabama will win the title but if they do, it would not be the first time that they won it from the 4th seed. We will see what happens but at least we really might have been spared another debacle like the trouncing of TCU last season, wouldn't you say?

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
Bill from NYC replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree with everything you said except the bolded. The police that were on the scene would, judging by visible injuries, pulled out hair on the floor, etc. have a great possibility of knowing what happened. -
Alabama"s backup quarterback is 5 star Ty Simpson. I hope that he stays with the team next season whereas he really might be better down the road than Milroe. If FSU had a backup like Ty (and played in a decent conference) they would be in instead of Alabama.

Great info, thanks. I was actually thinking that the lady he assaulted will have to be bought off, big time. -
Sure, cheaters, a so-so team that plays against garbage, a very good team, and another so-so team with an injured QB who plays against absolute garbage and has NO chance to win the title. Alabama OR Georgia would probably shut out FSU. Either of them would be playing reserves by the 3rd quarter in a romp. I hope that the committee is honest and intelligent enough to remember the dog walking that TCU suffered at the hands of UGA, and that team was clearly superior to Florida State. The playoffs are (or should be) for the best teams, not imposters.
-
FSU is a so-so team that plays in a secod rate (and I'm being generous) conference. Michigan's coach is a cheater and Washington is in a vastly overrated conference. How was Bo Nix in the SEC? I know.....he was all but chased out of it. In the PAC Whatever, he is mentioned for the Heismann. Please. The best teams in college football are Georgia and Alabama and Texas.
-
Now let's hope that the committee does what is right. Georgia (imo) is better than any team that will be in the playoffs. That doesn't mean that we will beat them all. It means that we can. ROLL TIDE 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🦣👍🐘👍

Sources say ZERO PERCENT chance McD is fired
Bill from NYC replied to Brand J's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. The question is: How can he NOT be fired if he doesn't win out, which he almost certainly will not. He loses all the big games, and built the team ass backwards other than Josh Allen who he lucked into. I wish that they would fire him today. -
Midnight Cowboy has some good winter scenes.

And I was walking down the street one day A pretty lady looked at me And said her diamond watch had stopped cold dead And I said Does anybody really know what time it is? (Care) does anybody really care? (About time) you know, I can't imagine why (Oh no, no) we've all got time enough to cry

As you well know, this is what happens when you are a fan of a great team. In just a few years years Alabama lost Lane Kiffen, Kirby Smart, and Steve Sarkisian (who I consider to have the best offensive mind in the NCAA if not all of football). What makes things worse is that Smart and Sark have great jobs and are not likely to return when Saban retires. That said, Ohio State will be fine. They are a great organization and have been forever. They will always be in contention. Good to see you back and I hope that all is well.

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
Bill from NYC replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was that a jury verdict or did he cop? My guess is that he was allowed to take a plea. I know of a case where a man caught his wife cheating. He beat her up a bit was arrested. He was hitting her with an object and she suffered minor injurues. In NYS, an object/weapon elevates a simple assault to a felony. At intake the ADA reduced the charge to a misdemeanor. Not a surprise tbh. He was released on bail and issued a T.O.P. A week later he hid in front of the house and when his wife came out he stabbed her numerous times and killed her in front of her 10 year son. He had a clean record and copped to 8 years. He was more than likely out in 6. The chances of Von doing time are slim to none, but in his case it will likely cost him a cool million or more. Then, it will depend on what Mr. Pegula/the NFL wants to do. -

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
Bill from NYC replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
CB, @Bob Jones posted facts in the post above yours that seem pretty "full" to me. Von choked her, she bruised up, and as I said in an earlier post, women's bruises get worse on the following day. They also appear to have at least some controversial history. I am not against due process. Not at all but I feel OK about judging Miller as a scumbag with fading skills. It would be nice to cut him and not get hurt so much by the salary cap hit. -

Thanks for the great info! This is part of what makes this board easy to appreciate, even after decades of being here. If the police could see bruises on the scene, beleive me the bruises will be far worse on the following day. These players have super human strength and getting choked by one is going to leave noticeable marks. I'm sure that the police will take appropriate photos. Miller is likely crazed on booze, drugs, untraceable steroids, or any combination of these things. CTE anyone? I hope that the Bills cut him from the team and can save money on the cap hit. Thanks again. -

True, and I would put the chances of this case going to trial would be somewhere around 1%. -

In a vast majority of domestic assault cases, alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both are involved. Where am I going with this? I am guessing that the future is not bright for Von. If it turns out that he is found guilty in court, will Pegula be willing to keep him? The NFL forced a name change from Redskins because it was deemed offensive. OK, is beating up a pregnant woman just a bit worse? Again, if he is found guilty, the league will surely face pressure from women's groups, as well as other concerned citizens to punish him. That said, the woman will almost certainly be bought off. It probably has already started. You all have seen this time and again with NFL players and other rich athletes, actors, etc.. Still, it is hard for me to believe that Von will come out of this unscathed. Sadly, the Bills might be hurt as well (salary cap, distractions, etc.). I don't know the procedure for drug testing, nor do I know if suspended players count against the salary cap, but; if I owned the team I would want a drug test done immediately, assuming that I would be allowed to have him tested. My main concern is for the woman and her baby. I don't think that she injured herself. My concern for Miller at this point ranges from slim to none. -
Seriously? It HAS to be McDermott. For what other reason would he allow this mess to continue? The bad strategy is your screen name.

When he punched Beane in the face, tossed him out of the war room, and traded up for Kaiir Elam?

If we win out...what is impact on coaching decisions?
Bill from NYC replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott will likely be back and will continue to screw up the team with mostly stupid drafts, emphasis on defense (only to play Jauron Ball) and very questionable free agent signings. Hey, you asked.
