  1. That's easy: 1) Pettine is great. He really is. He puts players such as Searcy and Robey to make plays. He's the best we have had at DC as far back as I can remember. The aggression is just fantastic. 2) Mario has 11 sacks. 3) Between Dareus, KW, and Branch, the Bills are stong up the middle. 4) Kiko and Woods are 2nd round picks playing at first round level. 5) Glenn looks like a totally legit LT. 6) Hughes for Sheppard. Credit Marrone as you choose, I will go with the above.
  2. Thank you for this. If this was the first time this happened, it wouldn't be THAT much of a big deal. But Marrone is screwing up before halftime week after f&*%$#g week. He doesn't deserve a pass for this ongoing display of inadequate coaching.
  3. The Chiefs had 2 timeouts. The Bills could have forced them to use them. As for the pick six, if Marrone didn't make that call, he should have. Great coaches take charge when it counts. This is what makes them great.
  4. 1) I like Robey more and more every week. He made a great play on that 3rd and 3 to hold the Chiefs to a field goal in the 2nd quarter. This kid is a keeper, and they need to sign him for a few years. 2) Kudos to CJ Spiller. The guy can make plays. Hopefully with a rest he will get to full speed. 3) The middle of the Bills DL did everything I asked of them. They were not at all the problem today. 4) Question for all.....who would you rather have on your football team, Jairus Byrd or Aaron Williams? Place me in the Williams camp. And let me be the first one to admit that I thought he sucked, and was a wasted pick. He not only is a talented safety, he goes balls to the wall on every play. 5) Two passes just after the deuce at the half while KC had 2 timeouts and then an incompletion? They left the Chiefs with 1:47, after burning all of 13 seconds. Is this how it works? More about Marrone later. 6) Same old story and I know it's been told. Some like jelly jelly, Some like gold. Many a man's done a terrible thing, just to get baby, a shiny diamond ring. 7) It's a shame that Tuel has a worse arm than an average high school quarterback. He does seem to feel the pass rush. That said, he should be cut, and I am talking about tonight. 8) I always did like Chandler, but he had 2 drops today that turned my stomach. It's time for another tight end folks. 9) Speaking of drops, the one by Easley was rather gut wrenching, no? 10) Help me here.....was there a worse call in NFL history than the one which resulted in a 101 yard pick six? I hate to be to critical of Saint Marrone. Wait..... this is a lie. He is an amateur. A rank amateur. He hasn't a clue. Not one freaking clue. 11) Gilmore was brutal today. How long must we wait for him to produce? Maybe we should wait for his contract to expire and slap the franchise tag on him, no? 12) HUGE shout out to Coach Petine!!! He is doing a splendid job with what he has, despite being hamstrung by the coaching on the offensive side and of course from the top. 13) On the pass on which Woods was banged up (late 3rd quarter) he was held for 5, maybe 10 yards. Am I the only one who saw this? 14) Kiko is on a fast track to being all pro. He is a pleasure to watch. 15) Lots of talent on this roster. Good quarterback play and we are a legit team, let alone a very good one. 16) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. As I said Bandit, field position at home can work wonders. What I mentioned above is why Gilmore was drafted and why Byrd was franchised. I hope that we kick to start the game, hold them to 3 and out, get field position, and of course score. We can come back and look at this, but I have a strange feeling......... GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I am surprised that nobody has mentioned what I think could be a HUGE factor in this game. I am referring to the Bills secondary. The Chiefs love to run, but imo the Bills are strong enough up the middle to slow them down. Players such as Dareus, KW, Branch and of course Kiko can clog up the middle and force Smith to throw. Byrd and Gilmore have been hurt most of this season. They would at least appear to be at or near full strength. I think that this is a perfect chance for them to take over the game. And they don't need pick sixes to make me happy. Good coverage and a pick or 2 between them could make the difference between winning and losing. Holding the Chiefs to 3 and outs and giving the Bills field position at home would be just what the doctor ordered. This team has invested a ton of resources in these two players. One was a #10 in the draft, the other an early second round pick who was given the franchise tag. I wish they would step up today and win us a home football game. Here's to keeping our fingers crossed! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. It's hard to fault fans for wanting a quarterback. And judging a quarterbacks career by 12 passes is a bit of a reach .
  8. Very true. The rule changes this season have decreased the value of running backs even more. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that now they are banned from leading with their helmets. Earl Campbell and John Riggins would not be too pleased. They would absolutely punish tacklers. In this sense, one could make a case that Spiller does fit this modern game, and he is very good. Imo, the question is (and always was) whether or not he can be an every down back, or is he more of a situational player? Either way, it will be interesting to see what the front office does if or when he hits free agency. They wouldn't pay Levitre, who never missed a game. How much will they offer Spiller?
  9. I thought so too. I am not at all worried about Woods. In fact, he looked frustrated on a play or 2. He is going to be an important part of the foundation of this football team. Goodwin was very impressive. On one particular catch he looked like he had soft hands. If this is the case, he has the potential to be a star. The Bills have talent. I am sure of this. A draft as good as 2013 would be a lot to expect, but if they can even approach it, they will be contenders IF EJ develops into a good quarterback. He doesn't have to be great. Dalton isn't. Just imagine this roster with another pass rushing DE, some help at Guard, another linebacker, and most of all a better than average quarterback! We might not be that far away. I just hope that Pettine stays around for a while.
  10. The score didn't reflect the game imo. I assume that Hughes chasing a wideout was breakdown. Things like this happen. Aside from that, I thought that the coverage was decent. The fact is that Brees was on fire. He felt some pressure and again, the coverage wasn't SO bad. Put Brees on the Bills and they are as good as the Saints, or at least close to it.
  11. No, as a matter of fact I had nothing but praise for Kyle Williams. Did you notice that they rotated Branch at DT and spelled Dareus? The three of them are a great rotation. We could use another DE who can rush the passer.
  12. I tried to save them, but they are in cyberspace, and I don't have time to re-write them. But I will say this..... 1) I blasted Marrone last week, and I won't back down. I don't mind consensus disagreement, nor even personal insults lol. I think that he needs work on challenges and especially clock management. That said, this team fights back. I didn't notice one player quitting. The truth is that I am, and will be a Bills Fan under any and all conditions. But if I am going to blast him, I want to also credit him big time about the players not letting up. 2) Thad Lewis was exposed today. He was hurt, under some pressure, and he is inexperienced. But, he lacks touch. Again, I hope that they utilize his ability to run. There now seems to be very little to lose. 3) Go Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. The Bills can win this game. I would not have thought so last season. I feel this way primarily because of the defense. An ex-poster on TSW (and a great one) AKC used to constantly stress the importance of DTs. He was as big on this as I am about not drafting defensive backs in the top 10 lol. Looking back, I see his point. If Kyle and Marcel can take over this game, Hughes, Lawson and Kiko will make plays, and Mario will kick ass. It's a big if, but it can happen. Think about it.....Gilmore and Byrd are back. And while they were out, players such as Leonard and Searcy made game changing plays. My point is that this defense has talent, depth, and now coaching. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. McKinnie more than held his own for a few years. The knock on him has been his lack of effort. Williams was a far worse selection than McKinnie. At this point, McKinnie is of course done.
  15. RJ, and it isn't close. He had SO much talent that I thought that even after he left Buffalo he would develop at some point. Then, I was at RWS when the Redskins put him in and Schobel almost killed him. People knew he was horrible WAY before I did and I just couldn't understand. Ultimately, there was a reason that a qb with those skills and tools was not drafted until round 4.
  16. Lewis is tough to not like. He seems to be a smart quarterback. Call me crazy, but my favorite offensive play of the game was the 18 yard (I think) completion to Lee Smith. Good quarterbacks are able to utilize a slew of options. Lewis has the ability to run. Because Manuel is hurt, I see little risk in the Bills using this weapon. We both know that the goal is to win football games. We cannot count on Mario to win us every game, as good as he is. The Bills have speed at wr, as well as two very good possession receivers. That said, Spiller is very talented but seemingly injured as I pointed out in the OP. Freddie got beat up too, and to his credit came back in. I have a problem forsaking a valuable weapon such as a young, mobile qb running the football. My tone wasn't great. My point is that this team has talent in my opinion. We cannot afford mismanagement of the clock, nor failing to utilize the talent we have in order to win games. Again, let's win football games!!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Thanks for making my point better than I did. Before the game I called a fiend of mine and asked him the point spread. I told him that if I was betting football, this would be my lock of the year. I said this because I honestly believe that this is a talented team, partially due to our rookies, the true emergence of Mario Williams, Petine, and other reasons. The thing is, we still need to play smart football to win a game like this, let alone on the road. If this was the first weird sequence before the half I would have been less angry. But it wasn't, and things like this can cost us a much needed win. Right now, I am not even focused on our divisional opponents. If this team plays disciplined football and avoids costly errors like the one you list above, we will win more games! The other 3 teams are not great, and can be caught. Maybe my expectations are too high. They were NOT coming into the season. But again, this team is talented enough to win games. I guess we will find out soon enough.
  18. Dislike for Dareus? I am an Alabama Fan. I watched his entire career and have rooted for him big time since day 1. That said, he was the 3rd overall pick in an NFL draft. I am thinking that we have a right to expect more.
  19. 1) Aaron Williams played his ass off today and I for one appreciate this. 2) Dareus recorded 4 tackles and 2 assists, but imo he didn't play so well. He provided vey little push up the middle. 3) Marrone is a horror show. I am sorry, but he is. Before the deuce at the half, he cost us 7 points. This is not the first time he has hurt us before the half. And really, are you looking at him? Does he not look lost? Please list coaches that you think are worse than him. 4) Mario is just great. Seriously, the man is GREAT!!!!! He took over this game and won us a divisional game on the road. This is what is supposed to happen with players on whom a team invests their most resources. It was wonderful to see this fantastic player play at such a high level, no? 5) If anybody wants to sing the praises of Gilmore, please do. That said, I loved what I saw from Robey!!! 6) Kyle Williams recovered the fumble, but he was not all that impressive. I am thinking that the Bills gave up a bit too much up the middle. I don't know what his story is. 7) Sun went down in honey, Moon came up in wine. Stars were spinnin' dizzy, Lord, the band kept us so busy, We forgot about the time. They're a band beyond description Like Jehovah's favorite choir. People joinin' hand in hand While the music plays the band. Lord, they're setting us on fire!!! 8) Robert Woods didn't have great numbers today, but I am just SO impressed with this kid. I feel like he is always helping this football team. 10) Granted, Choice and SJ had brutal drops in the first quarter, but both missed passes appeared to have been forced and lacking in touch. 11) There should have been more called running plays to Lewis. Period. I won't back down on this and I blame Marrone. 12) Kudos to McKelvin for playing what I think was the best game of his life. 13) Congrats to my Bills friends!!!!!!! 14) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. 1) If the Powerball goes up to $600,000,000 and I win it twice, I am going to purchase the Buffalo Bills. I will offer Nick Saban 10,000,000 per season and full control. If he says no I will give him 12. 2) If the above doesn't work, the Next GM will be Badolbeelz from this message board. Simon and R.Rich will also have jobs. I am serious. 3) Levy and Jauron crushed this franchise and left it without a core of good players. 4) There is hope for Manuel, Dareus, and MAYBE Gilmore. Aside from them and Clements (because they picked up an extra second round pick),the Bills whiffed on every first round pick since 2001. That's as far back as I am willing to go. 5) I hope that I am 100% wrong but I don't like the odds of Marrone being a good head coach.
  21. Fair enough. Before I post anything else I will run it by you for approval.
  22. 1) For the record, I would not have cut Colin Brown. He filled in for a while at OC and didn't play poorly. Do you people remember when Levitre (and I remain a huge fan of him) played center? He couldn't do it. Brown could. And Woods is looking VERY good this season, but let's not forget that he is prone to injury, OK? 2) Marrone needs to back away from the hurry-up. It makes no sense to go with a huge OL and rely too much on an offense that will tire them out, let alone wear down the defense if and when they don't make first downs. This with inexperienced quarterbacks. 3) The QB situation is strange, it really is. EJ is more talented than Lewis imo. In fact, I see little doubt. BUT, when he returns, he needs to be coached up BIG TIME. EJ throws (from what I have observed)primarily ropes with little air under them. This takes away from his "touch." 4) RG111 has proven 2 things to me: 1) Running QBs can win football games in this league. There is a real place for them. 2) Running QBs can easily get hurt. Lewis can run. He really can, and with EJ waiting in the wings, I see little risk in taking advantage of these skills. Marrone should, imo, let him loose and call plenty of designed QB running plays. I say this because I want the Buffalo Bills to win football games. 5) Cameron Wake is back. I think that plays should be designed for Glenn to kick his ass. 6) I hope that Spiller can get loose and win us this game. 7) This game, imo, is a big test for Marrone. 8) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Nobody is saying that Kiko isn't a good player. In fact, I think that if the kid stays healthy he is on the way to being one of the best linebackers in the entire league. That said rookies make mistakes, but again....it's all good. And btw, as he ages, learns, and perhaps even gains a pound or 2, he is also on his way to being one of the best bargain draft picks this franchise has ever made. I know we are the Bills but there would be some great names on that list.
  24. As much as I respect him, I'm not sure if Kyle Williams will last much longer. He has taken a big time beating.
