  1. It is mind boggling because of the new CBA. Beerman, Donte Whitner was drafted at #8 in 2006. He was paid more than 30 million dollars by the Buffalo Bills (I think 32). He even held out!!! ANDREW LUCK will be paid FAR less than this. Times have changed. EJ has promise I suppose, but he was NOT good last season. If the Bills brass really likes a QB they should draft him. With the new CBA there is little to lose.
  2. It depends on how good the RT is, dontcha think? As a Tide Fan, I got to see almost every game that Fluker played. He was one of the easiest college players to rate that I have ever watched. The Chargers took him at #11 and he was instrumental in getting them to the playoffs. And watch him get even better!!! I have not seen enough of Lewan to make a pertinent comment about how good he is. What I will say is that if he is up there with Fluker they should run up to the podium and grab him. I think that the Bills will draft a wideout in round 1. A player such as Evans will sell tickets. A Right Tackle will not, no matter how good he is. This is not the philosophy that I embrace, but it's better than the Bills wasting #9 ON Clinton-Dix and again, I am a Tide Fan. I would probably be ok with Aaron Donald after a trade down as well. This draft is said to be deep at WR. I don't want the Bills to waste the #9 on one, let alone a defensive back, but we ARE the Bills, ya know?
  3. Ironically, they also finished 28th in time of possession, despite being 2nd in rushing yardage. This is beyond belief. The reasons for this (imo) are as follows: 1) Rookie OC who was not at all flexible. 2) Rookie QB with big problems. 3) Horrible LG. 4) This mess was overseen by a rookie head coach who looked lost, and was terrible at managing the clock, especially before the half. I mean Rich Kotite bad. It is amazing that the Petine defense put up those numbers. They were weary from being on the field too long, and suffered injuries in the secondary. Players such as Hughes, A. Williams and McKelvin had zero history of making game changing plays yet they all thrived in the Petine system. So I agree, Schwartz really needs to keep this system in place. And all of the above problems need mending. They were "hurrying up" to do things they lacked the ability to do. And much of the blame rests upon the shoulders of the head coach imo. I REALLY want Marrone to excel. He is from the Bronx, and once said that if he didn't work in football he would have wanted to be a state trooper. How does one not like a guy like this? But sadly, I get the feeling that he is in way over his head. Am I wrong?
  4. It occurred to me that you are, and always have been a great Bills Fan.
  5. Good, but surprising post Promo. It's as if you are implying that selecting Spiller at #9 was a display of imperfection by the otherwise infallible Bills brass. The truth is that he was an awful selection. Would you, or anyone else like us to draft a small, situational running back at 9 in May? I for one think that Spiller has very little trade value. That said, if a team would offer us a 2nd round pick I would jump all over it. I would probably grab a 3rd. The Bills have bigger needs than a scat back, who is possibly hobbled to boot. Mario is great. KW is very good but neither is young. There is a drastic need at LG. So yes, if a team out there is willing to offer up a nice pick for Spiller it would be just wonderful.
  6. I am going to guess closer to 7 million or more.
  7. I don't think that they should go that route Tip Man. I respect the opinions of my friend "Doc." He is big time against taking one of the 3 SEC qbs who are coming out. Count me as all in for either McCarron, Murray or Mettenberger. Jmo.
  8. I am very pleased with this. He has flaws but he IS also productive. He is able to get open. Any word on how much they are paying him?
  9. I won't go as far as to predict this, but stranger things have happened.
  10. That's easy...."The Bird Song" by the Grateful Dead..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLnXLmPuzDY
  11. Fantastic! Another favorite of mine is, "The Truth Hurts." My girlfriend is a Giant Fan (very sympathetic to, and roots for the Bills). I told her about these names and she burst out laughing. But we are the ones who can truly relate to this.
  12. LOL!!!!! Dick Jauron must be insulted as well! One thing great about being a Bills Fan is the humor. Look at this board....the screen names keep on coming! "Pills N Bills" is great. "Pass the Pipe" is posting again, and we wait the return of "Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail."
  13. Was signing the absolute best coach the Bills have employed in far more than a decade a step in the right direction?
  14. Seriously, I respectfully urge you to calm down. You want to talk about the signing? Kirwin and Miller were asked about it today. Kirwin said that he has not shown anything since as far back as the Senior Bowl. Miller was a bit more kind. He said that he played poorly at Guard and had big problems at LT, but he had some success at RT. I have not read the entire thread, but according to these announcers he is a swing tackle more than he is a guard. I have not seen enough of him to form or present an opinion. If he is a decent swing tackle, the price is right. If not and they think he is a guard, it will be attempt #3 to plug the hole that the front office created when they let Levitre walk. What is important to me is that they address the OL in the draft, in spite of this new addition which appears to be not such a big deal.
  15. I don't have much to say in this thread but I gotta tell you, yours is a top 10 screen name in the history of TSW!
  16. I don't know.....in 113 career starts Whitner has 1.5 sacks. Searcy has 3.5 sacks in 10 starts.
  17. It makes sense imo. And btw I have heard her on Sirius. She is very smart.
  18. Yes he does. Maybe while he is there he can get tased a few more time lol!! Either way, I hope Cleveland does sign him and pay him well. It's somehow refreshing to see a team with a front office that is dumber than ours. http://deadspin.com/5208901/tazed-and-confused-at-ted-ginns-birthday-bash
  19. Upgrading the OL would certainly help the defense as well. The Bills were 28th in TOP. Of course some of this is to be blamed on the QB position and head scratching coaching, but a better OL would keep the defense off the field and fresh. That said, EJ needs competition. Jmo.
  20. TB signed him to an extremely interesting contract. He was given 16 million dollars per year, with the only the first year fully guaranteed. That's it. Cutting him doesn't cost them one penny in cap space, and they save his entire contract. I wish the Bills would sign players in this manner, but I digress. Because of the above, a trade is 100% out of the question. He would cost 16 mil. per season. Honestly, if the Bucs offered Revis AND a draft pick, it wouldn't be worth it to me to take upon his 16 salary. Revis is a financial genius. He shook down the Jets more than once for more money. This guy has been one of the biggest earners in the NFL, but luck can run out. There is a glut of UFA corners on the market that good are players. Maybe this is because teams are finally listening to me about the futility of devoting huge resources to defensive backs. Sure, Byrd will get a huge contract. It only takes one team. But the secondary is not, nor ever will be the place for a team to use the bulk of it's resources on. Nope, I for one will pass on Revis, his attitude, injury history, and 16 million dollar salary. See my post above.
  21. You rarely fail to accept the idiocy of this organization. I am not less of a fan than you. The great thing about TBD is that it allows us to talk about the team we love. McKelvin? Check this out! http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/years/2008 Who was drafted AFTER him? Clady and Albert. Are you really going to defend this dumb draft selection? Seriously? It's not like the Bills had a OL in place before this draft, let alone a quarterback. I don't judge you for saluting stupidity. I think that Bills Fans cope in different ways. But please, think about what you are saying! If you think that McKelvin was worth a #11 with those great players right behind him, do ask yourself if you are talking football, or defending idiocy at all costs. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I guess that settles it. EJ is going to the HOF and Mallett is going down the toilet because he couldn't unseat Tom Brady. Gotcha
  23. And I would be fine with this as well FTL. But the skeptic in me foresees neither. Let's hope! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Do you mean more stupid than they already look? We need a solid QB Promo. Desperately. Manuel or even Lewis might be good enough. It isn't impossible. But there is never harm of bringing in talent at the QB position.
