  1. I am rooting for the Bengals and think they can win. If they do win, will people be angry? It seems like McCarron will be the starter, and the Bengals got him in the 5th round, AFTER we drafted Cyril Richardson. Plus, there is a thread here about EJ being our #2 qb next year.
  2. I am high on Dak Prescott and hope that the Bills draft him at some point.
  3. Losing Gilmore to draft a corner would remind me of the Thomas Smith, Winfield and Clements days. That said, Gilmore does not now and will never deserve Revis money. Generally speaking, that is WAY too much for a corner. OJ Howard is risky imo. He CAN block and he runs nice patterns too. But, I have seen him drop a few passes. This is 100% speculation on my part. Yes, 100%, but I have seen him where he appears to be not concentrating. The thing is Badol, he was never on a team that really needed to use him that much. His teammates included Cooper, Lacey, Yeldon, Ridley, Henry, and many other top players. For this reason, I think that he might take some time to develop. Now, would I like to see him on the Bills? Yes. He has a high ceiling.
  4. Have you made a decision on your screen name yet? Great minds think alike. This board has amazingly funny screen names.
  5. 1) Whaley will trade away draft selections. 2) They will use the first round pick on a defensive back.
  6. Pooj, a good friend of mine is a jet fanatic and a smart guy/fan. He told me: 1) We were getting a very good coach in Pettine and we would be happy with him. 2) NEVER be fooled by Rex. He is just an inept blowhard.
  7. Brandon and Marrone were Syracuse cronies. I remember reading that they served on some sort of committee together. Brandon should have absolutely no say on this team. He is a liability and not needed at all imo.
  8. Kelly is excellent. He got off to a rather slow start in his career. I think he will be a fine NFL center as long as he can keep his weight up. Btw, I think you will appreciate this. He is even scarier on the field.
  9. @26: >>>>>19. Buffalo Bills: A'Shawn Robinson, DL, Alabama The vaunted Buffalo defense looked mediocre at times this season with many claiming that Rex Ryan's “scheme” was the issue. Robinson is a player who transcends scheme and would give Ryan a player who can play anywhere on the defensive line.<<<<< If the above (which is from your link to CBS Sports) is true, Kyle Williams is through in Buffalo. I do however strongly disagree that Robinson can play "anywhere" on the DL. He is a DT, and he is a fantastic player. Try to catch him on Monday.
  10. This has been my complaint all season. I watched Dareus week after week since he has been in college. He is not made to go back in pass coverage. When you draft a player at #3 and then give him 100 million dollars you should let him do what he is good at. Marcel Dareus is good at disruption.
  11. He was the second leading receiver on the team today and made some clutch plays. Your innuendo was not called for, but if saying something this dumb makes you feel better about yourself or just good in general, I am happy for you.
  12. 1) Watkins is making a strong case to be considered one of the top receivers in the NFL. Revis couldn't do much to stop him now could he? 11 receptions for 136 yds. was amazing under the circumstances. 2) Did anybody notice that the Jets were unable to goad Incognito into a fight and/or penalty? Later, Tyrod pulled Mills away from a fight. When did this team become disciplined? Today, during game 16? Unbelievable. 3) I hope my friend John C is reading this. Tyrod HAS to be a running quarterback, at least for now and the near future. He is SUCH a good and clutch runner it would be criminal to hold him back. 4) I want to be happy like Todd Bowles. I mean this. It would be cool to be like him and live my life with the same smile, no matter what is happening. I wonder if he is on meds. Or, does he have the world's greatest therapist? 5) You folks know that I am fond of Corey Graham as a player, but how did he drop what would have been a pick-6 in the first quarter? 6) Life may be sweeter for this, I don't know. Feels like it might be alright. While Lady Lullaby sings plainly for you, Love still, rings true. Midnight on a carousel ride, Reaching for the gold ring, down inside. Never could reach, It just slips away, But I try! 7) Let's talk about effort: How about the clutch 3rd and 2 run by Karlos? That kid is as strong as an ox, has good speed, and is a player who is very easy to be a fan of. I really do hope he stays healthy next year because he is quite the weapon. 8) Did you see the players after Mario had the sack? They looked as if they were thrilled to see him trying. Then again, I might read into this stuff a bit too much. 9) I am not sold on Rex Ryan as a coach. Far from it but let's give credit where it's due. He coached a fine game today. 10) What caused the pick by Lawson right after the deuce? Wait, I know.....PASS RUSH!!! Dareus rushed him, crushed him, and made him throw early. Why on earth did we have to wait for game 16 to see this? 11) This kid Salas has some heart, no? 12) I know it was a nice hit but we are VERY lucky that Thompkins dropped that pass. 13) Well, here we are again. Our season is over and we missed the playoffs yet again. Still, there is a lot to talk about this off season. The Bills are a bit of a train wreck, but I for one think we can turn it around with some luck, work, and a big dose of common sense. 14) Thanks everybody for the wonderful dialogue about this team that we care so much about. There is no better place to talk about the Bills. Next year, my last post of the season will be about a post season game. Be well everyone and God bless. 15) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. But do you think it HAD to take time? The team was 9-7 with Orton and freaking EJ. Rex came in, talked about being a "bully," and turned our feared defense into a group of 300+ pound ballet dancers wearing football helmets. And do not think that I excuse the players; Mario broke my heart as a fan. But the rest of the defense runs around like a disorganized, undisciplined group of losers. Not good, no matter how one attempts to paint it. Absolutely great article. Thank you for this.
  14. I was calm after the Darby pick but that was a second rounder. A first round defensive back or running back in 2016 would probably destroy us for another few years.
  15. First round safety, huh? I am on a weak blood pressure medication. I guess I should consult my doctor before the draft.
  16. These were 3 great moves, but doesn't he also strike you as the proverbial kid in a candy store? The better GMs are more frugal with their cap space and draft choices. Jmo.
  17. Sorry TFR but I gotta disagree. Imo, any offer more than bus fare out of town was too generous for these two. If you haven't noticed, I am not so fond of Whaley. Going into this draft, I fear that he will trade away, or waste more picks. McCarron may suck when all's said and done but he had more upside than Cyril Richardson, wouldn't you say? Instead, we were stuck with EJ. A 4th for Bryce Brown? McCoy's contract? The Cassell drama? He hit right a few times but he is way to generous with team resources imo, and obviously the results are not something to brag about.
  18. Why would they need to play him one snap. Can't you simply bench a player who isn't performing?
  19. So true BV. Posters continue to praise Whaley for getting rid of Byrd and Spiller, but the truth is that he offered contracts to both of these lousy players. This team really is bad enough. Can you imagine just how awful it would be if Whaley would have got his wish and signed both, or even one of them?
  20. Wow! I for one cannot see how Jarred Allen or A'Shaun Robinson can fail. Allen is 6'3/313 and can get to the qb. Robinson is 6'3/312, and is like a brick wall. Let me put it like this: John Miller would probably be hospitalized after a game against Robinson. Also, I think that MLB Reggie Ragland is good in coverage and VERY good against the run. He is however harder to rate because he plays behind a DL unit which probably has 4 or 5 future NFL players. I kid you not.
  21. This is probably double what he will gain in the rest of his short career.
  22. Yolo, although some of the same players were there, it is (in my strong opinion) not an accurate comparison between those two Crimson Tide teams. This team might have the best front 7 I have ever seen, and I am going back a lot of years. They are deep and great. The Tide offense has some standout players but they are not even close to the team that beat Notre Dame a few years ago. The defense is clearly superior, especially up front. It's going to be tough for Clemson to move the football without getting pummeled. It might happen too, but I wouldn't bet on it.
  23. He only did that when the Bills were trying to kill the clock before the half.
  24. I couldn't find a link. What a jerk off! I really thought the kid had a much better shot at being a good qb in the NFL than most seem to believe. He truly set himself back, and if he is guilty I hope he goes to jail for a stretch.
