Badol, I know you are not crazy about Reed and I am NOT trying to sell him to you, but I must say that imo he is a lot better than his numbers. I have not seen his 40 times at the combines but for a guy his size he is pretty quick. He is huge Badol, and at the college level disrupted many plays. As far as Robinson, he and Reed are about the same size but imo Robinson is stronger, and possibly even suited for nose tackle. He isn't very fast but again, he is very strong. As a DE in the Rex system, Reed is powerful enough to hold the edge. That said, I don't think Rex would want him because he might not be able to cover wide receivers.

That is historically what the Bills do. They use top picks on corners and let them walk, only to use another top (usually first round) pick on yet another corner and repeat the process. If they are going to use an early pick on a corner in 2016, I suggest that the Bills explore a trade for Gilmore. If he is 1/2 as good as posters here claim, a first round pick for Gilmore should be a given, wouldn't you say? This would save them a HUGE amount of future cap space (remember, Tyrod is due for a contract), and the team really might not suffer. Call me crazy, but I would MUCH rather the Bills use cap space on Tyrod than on Gilmore.

Any offensive tackles or guards you like?

Stephon Gilmore: "I Know I’m an Elite Corner."

How confident are the Bills in RT Seantrel Henderson?
Bill from NYC replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Brother, you are 100% correct. True, and the option to trade down shouldn't be overlooked. The year we drafted Byrd in round 2, the team that drafted AFTER the Bills traded down and acquired a first round pick in the next seasons' draft as part of then deal. Whaley seems more inclined to trade picks away but who knows? -
Bills enamored with Cardale Jones?

McCoy? I'm not so sure. -

Ya think it is just a matter of time before Gilmore is inducted to Canton? -
Jets LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson retiring
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
An acquaintance of mine knows his family really well and has known D'Brick since he was a baby. He told me that they are absolutely wonderful people. If I recall his mom is a nurse. I noticed that D'Brick never really played with a mean streak. He was probably too normal for that. I wish him health, good luck, and happiness. -
Looks like Donte Whitner cut by Browns
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Levy was not meant to be a pro GM. He was a person who no other team would have hired and he brought in his clone (Jauron) who of course no other team would hire as a head coach. These people thought that the secondary was THE most important aspect of NFL football, followed of course by special teams. The Levy/Jauron combination had absolutely no chance of winning. I remember when Schobel was our entire pass rush and these morons would send him back into coverage. Rings a bell today, no? -
Looks like Donte Whitner cut by Browns
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes my friend. He was a 36 million dollar disaster as the #8 selection in a draft that that was absolutely stacked with talented players. Not only that, Levy said that he turned down numerous offers to trade down and that one offer involved more than an extra 2nd round pick for doing so, according to Marv himself. There were certainly draft selections who were worse than Whitner as players, but selecting Whitner at #8 was one of the worst and dumbest moves in Bills history, and sadly this is quite the distinction. -
C'mon CB! I am stating that Smith is twice as good as Orton and EJ combined. Maybe 10x better. Can you possibly disagree? Well, that team finished 9-7 primarily due to a fantastic defense. Last year the offense got way better and the defense was down more than 60% in sacks. The best lineman quit and the rest were in pass coverage. Do you really want to make a case that Rex didn't destroy this team? Now we even have his horror show brother, as if things weren't bad enough. Brandon and Whaley will have to answer for this mess. If they fail to make the playoffs, all of them should be fired. PS: I have more faith in Tyrod than most posters do, and think that he is really the only one who can possibly save this team from sinking like a rock. What we really need is a good season from him in order to compete.

Rex Ryan: I won't be shocked if Ed Reed is HC in 5 years

They might need to rush opposing quarterbacks to achieve this goal, wouldn't you say? -
Tyler Dunne Asks: Was the Watkins Trade Worth It?
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. And I have trouble excusing Whaley for the fact that he would NOT have drafted Beckham. Whaley tends to over spend for contracts (Clay, McCoy, and even Marcel if he is to be used as a 350 pound corner) and over pay for trades (a 4th for Bryce Brown). He certainly made a few good draft selections (Darby and Karlos come to mind), but again, he has a propensity toward spending which has left us with a possible problem in paying Tyrod. Jmo. Because last season the defense was a disgrace of epic proportion. The talented defense was down more than 60% in sacks. How much worse could it have been? -
Crashing and burning and Bill
Bill from NYC replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes John but how many of us know enough about anything that we should completely ignore the views of others? My views have been changed based on things I read on this board. It wasn't really so long ago that the keys to winning football games were to run the ball successfully, and prevent your opponent from doing the same. If I held steadfast to my views I would still believe this, and those days are long gone. I didn't think getting McCoy was such a bad idea until I read some views here and was honest with myself. Giving him a new, fat contract was a very, very bad move by Whaley. And btw, I expect Whaley and Rex to be gone before the 2017 season. -

Get used to it. He has the time and patience to beat it into our heads to NOT think that Rex is a phony, self serving huckster. TBC seems to demand that we don't blame Rex. We should even be glad that we hired his loser brother. Now, Tyrod was what was wrong with the Bills, and if you don't march lockstep to this nonsense you might have a problem. -
I have not had even one beer. I was told by all my doctors that 2 is ok. Like I said, I need a rest.
-
I am actually allowed 2 alcoholic beverages per day. The thing is I stretched this quite a bit over the years and want to give my body a brake. I find it 10x easier to give up than cigarettes. But you and Yolo are correct. Rex is harder to accept without a few beers!!!

I will no longer be posting a weekly thread after games. It really is time to pass the baton to someone else who may feel up to taking on the challenge. Last season, there were similar posts to mine and they were good. Here are my itemized (of course ) reasons: 1) First and foremost, I think that my time has passed and KNOW that others can do a better job of recapping the game. I want this for TBD. 2) My health is fine, much better than before. No smoking or even drinking since October, and I work out in the gym. That said, as amateurish as the posts were, they really did take time. I want to travel more to see my daughters, grand children, and friends. 3) I want to watch a game without a pen and notebook. 4) I might be coming up for a game this season. It's been a while and I miss it, especially the tailgates. 5) Having seen almost every play of every game for well over 2 decades, I have a bad feeling about this season. It is my opinion that Rex is destroying this team and that Whaley is almost as bad. I don't want to be in constant battles with those who think that this situation is good. There really might not be so many good things to report this year. But, this IS a Bills Fan Site, and I don't want to spend my Sundays bursting bubbles and depressing people I have grown to like SO much over the years I have spent here. Hey, I will continue to post. This, imo, is the only place for Bills football. Thanks to the mods & SDS for indulging me. Thanks so, SO much to each and every one of you for the dialogue. My "thoughts" were not all knowing declarations. They were just thoughts and observations and the intent was to create dialogue. I think that for the most part, it did work. And most of all, thanks for the support when I was sick. My daughters and I will never forget this. Not ever. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the board! This board is filled with hilarious, imaginative screen names, and imo yours is in the top 10. Thanks so much for the morning chuckle! -
Chandler Jones is gone from the AFCE! Traded to Cards
Bill from NYC replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are 100% correct, especially if Tyrod improves. It could cost 18 or 20 million per season to keep him if he gets better, which imo he will. Gilmore will probably cost 13 million per season. I think that he is a good player but I don't thing he is worth that much cap space. Jmo.
