I would like to give a kid like Dak Prescott a chance to be #2. EJ has had years to prove that he is a bad quarterback and has done exactly that, quite well I might add. When the Bills can dump him and not use cap space in doing so, this is what they should and will do.

Stephon Gilmore: "I Know I’m an Elite Corner."
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. What will likely happen is that he will walk, and the Bills will replace him with a first round defensive back. And it won't really matter if we are winning or losing because this is what the Bills do. The certainty of the Bills drafting first round defensive backs is a large part of what makes your screen name just so fitting. -
Article about Bills future..compares to Rams
Bill from NYC replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good question. Any ideas? Perhaps because one would think that LA has a lot more going for it than St. Louis. It had the power to bounce back. Ya think there will ever be another CVS in Ferguson? I will say this: if I owned the Rams I would think long and hard about getting out of there. It's sad too because I suspect that the criminals who burned down the CVS, car dealership, etc. were mostly out of town political agitators as opposed to community residents, but I am guessing. -

I have a question: Does anybody think that the riots had any effect on the owner wanting to get away from St. Louis? I have zero idea if the riots did or did not impact the decision but the possibility has crossed my mind several times. -

Possible, partial explanation for why D was bad
Bill from NYC replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
People also use misleading stats about how many times our Linemen actually dropped back into coverage. In addition to more drop backs, players were often just standing around defending an edge or a zone, rather than showing any aggression. We can pretend that he isn't, but the bottom line is that Ryan is a bad football coach and was a huge mistake. And, if his contract was not guaranteed he would be fired. Pegula IS rich, but he owes this buffoon approx. 22 million dollars whether he takes the field or not. I hope that Whaley is smart enough to try to hire Pettine, but I suppose this too is a reach. -

:) You have been on one comedic roll as of late! He suffered a torn groin muscle, didn't he? -
Megatron to retire? (Update- he is done)
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely agree. There are probably psychological reasons that make these guys stay. Years ago when salaries were low, football players were more like working people. They needed their jobs. Today, they have millions. If I had millions of dollars in the bank, a hot wife and some kids to come home to, I am thinking that I would not want to be hit by Marcel Dareus or Suh. I might not want to be hit by anybody, especially if I am already injured in some way, which imo most if not all of these guys are. I have been looking at this since Borland and Willis retired. By coincidence, I wanted the Bills to draft both of them and posted about it. -
What will get you excited for next season?
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) Agreed and I AM saying Pettine. 2) Not sure I would do that but it's probably a moot point. Whaley already spent that money. 3) Incog and Glenn? It would be nice but I still believe that Glenn will cost 12 mil. per season. 4) The positions you list (2 WR, ILB, and RT) are traditionally not that hard to find. This is hardly the case with the Bills, especially at RT (and guard for that matter). Imo, we could fill these spots with a good draft and yes, I agree these are huge needs. And if you think that ILB is the biggest need, do watch some you tube clips of Reggie Ragland. 5) Until he proves otherwise, Rex is just another clown. He needs to get rid of this dumb defense, learn how to manage the clock, and stop making it all about him. It would seem to be a daunting task but who knows? GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Ragland is an incredible player. He is not quite as good as CJ Mosley was against the pass, but much, much better against the run. Ragland is a whole lot stronger.

That is one great point you make! And btw, your signature is hilarious. I have come to appreciate the humor on this board more and more. The screen names are just SO good, I think they are worthy of a thread. -

Sure Dave but if the pick would have been Ebron, who would you blame? Or would we be here saying that he "needs more time?" -
Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess time will tell and of course, I hope I am wrong. Of one thing I AM certain: This team really does need a good draft. We shot our free agency load so to speak on Clay and McCoy. By the way, your response was a good one and was way funnier than it was probably intended to be. -
Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, the kids from LSU aren't so bad, wouldn't you agree? And again, EJ Manuel (a Whaley blunder) was the quarterback when he made this deal. John from Hemet posts that if not for injuries, Sammy might be the best. Maybe so. And if he WAS seriously injured the Bills would be missing not one but 2 first round picks (and a 4th) and this board would be on fire calling for Whaley's job. In other words, there was an awful lot of risk in that deal. I also remind you that we have not had a playoff appearance since the trade was made. Do I blame the trade? No I don't but the results are what they are. And please, let's not forget that he offered contracts to Spiller and Byrd. He got very lucky there, but there is nothing wrong with good luck, right? In all, Whaley doesn't completely suck. I never claimed that this was the case. Imo he is so-so at best but the team has ben so bad for so long, we as fans tend to embrace any Bill who isn't completely awful and sadly, even some who are (Losman, Manuel, etc.). -

Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, thanks for the dialogue. My fairly strong reservation wrt Whaley is that he is a bit too free with the team resources for my liking. Hey, he certainly has hit a few home runs. Tyrod (I will credit him for TT), Darby, and my man Karlos were fine moves. Sammy, imo, while a ballsy move, was costly. And when the deal was made there was no Tyrod. In retrospect it was a good move but that draft was chock full of top wideouts. EJ was a major blunder, as were Bryce Brown and Kujo. Hiring Rex was a disaster too imo. There were others, such as the McCoy contract. Badol will disagree with me, but imo draft choices are worth more since the rookie salary cap was implemented. No more spending 36 million on a Donte Whitner. I prefer getting more to giving them up. Hey, jmo. If I owned the team I would not let him be reckless with trades and contracts. -

Bill from NYC replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A little off topic, but why are you and countless others so ready to part ways with Urbik? It doesn't appear that doing so would save much cap space. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/kraig-urbik/ I don't think he is a tremendous player by any stretch, but who do we have that is better? Miller? I think not. Richardson? Please. I would like to see them keep him AND draft another guard. Jmo. -

Bill from NYC replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My post was in no way directed at you. I'm sorry if it seemed to be. Imo, the fact that Shady is a good player is one of the few things that the entire board seems to agree on. The cap space is another issue. Not the money btw. I am not a jealous person, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for a person with 10 billion or so dollars, unless it was over health or family matters. But the point Badol has been trying to make is tough to dispute. When a player has guaranteed cash like this, you are stuck with him for better or worse. RBs don't last. Shady has lots of miles and is already nicked up. It's a tough position. Karlos is probably 2x as strong as Shady and who knows how long he can last? Whaley signs multi-year extension with Bills
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For what it's worth, I agree that extending Whaley is a bad decision. I was hoping that both he and Rex would be shown the door. Am I surprised? Not at all. Who gets the next big contract? Brandon? -
Marrone/Schwartz to Miami? Nope. Gase it is.

Good post. I am no fan of Marrone but the above is hard to dispute. -
