  1. But Dave, why should this force me to agree that Clemson was as good as this Bama team? And btw they have a qb who didn't play one down this year, but I saw him on you tube throw a football 70 yards through the uprights in a perfect spiral. I am NOT claiming that the Tide will win the title in 2017. I AM suggesting that you don't count them out either.
  2. It is great that you think this and seem so pleased to say it, but this doesn't make it true.
  3. Saban said that he knew what to expect from Clemson's kicking team, and had someone in the booth to tell him if they were doing something different. That is just one small example of just how much of a great coach he is.
  4. Now this is a post with which I fully agree. Clemson was/is much better than I expected them to be. Fwiw, I watch every single Tide game. As great as this team was they were not the best Alabama team. The team which destroyed Notre Dame had a much better offense than these kids, and the best OL I ever saw. They were more balanced, and imo one of he greatest teams ever. This squad had the best front 7 I ever saw, but the team had to work harder to be where they are. Now, how about a title for the Bills!!! Why, because you say so? How about if we agree to disagree?
  5. I think that if Clemson had the same schedule as Alabama, it is unlikely that they would have made the playoffs. Frankly, I think that 14 games is a bit much for these kids (15 counting the Title Game). Alabama seems to be a bigger and stronger team. Clemson might be a bit faster, especially at QB. The Tide is certainly deeper, especially on defense. Their front 7 consists of 10 or more players who eventually will be drafted, some early. I have never seen anything like it. Once again, jmo. If you and I live to see the Bills win it all, I want to hear you say that it was a "shame" to see the other team lose, OK?
  6. Dave.....this is post 124 on this thread. You came in on post 86. Since then, you have posted that Coker: "Isn't any good." (2x) "doesn't look any good." (2x) "very mediocre." (1x) 5 times you saw fit to slam a kid who just quarterbacked a team to a National Title. A team that put up 45 points against a Clemson team that you are praising up and down, implying if not outright saying that they are better than Bama. By the way, they are not. Coker is not Andrew Luck. In fact, he has only been a starter for 1 season. He needs to find open receivers quicker, and so do almost 100% of young quarterbacks. He is a very clutch player. Over the course of the season, the kid has picked up a lot of key first downs and the ground and in the air. He is brave and confident. Will he be a great pro? Good chance he will not, whereas there are only 10 or 15 of these guys in the world, right? Who is your college team pray tell? Whoever it is, I am sure that I'm a little sorry they went down. Maybe they will win a title some day. Or 5. Or 16.
  7. Here we are losing a very talented coach and gaining yet another lame blow hard. Whaley is not at all to blame, and I mean ZERO. That was the consensus on TSW when the latest Ryan was brought in, and this will be the party line with losing Henderson as well. Wait and see. If I was Mr. Pegula, it wild cross my mind that the 3 Stooges (PT Brandon, Whaley and Rex) are proven to be inept, and have fleeced the organization of untold millions due to unsatisfactory work, cronyism and now nepotism. I would fire all three of them instantly. But hey, this is jmo, and the world would be a boring place if everybody agreed with me.
  8. He probably will be gone if Rex goes to a 3/4. Most high school teams have taller DEs than Kyle, as much as I like him.
  9. Could it be that Dareus and Mario were NOT better than they were before at covering wide receivers and speed backs? I don't think this is allowed, is it? I was under the impression that Whaley is great and can do no wrong.
  10. As a fan of the National Champion Crimson Tide you should know.....there is no arguing with a hater.
  11. But these issues are important enough for you to post 10 or so times in this thread alone? Really, I think you have bored us enough.
  12. No. I am assuming that Whaley had, or should have had some say on the issue. The new Ryan is employed and paid by the Bills. Whaley is the General Manager. It seems trendy, W/L records notwithstanding, to absolve Whaley for any and all blame for this mess over which he presides, but doing so does not necessarily equate to accuracy.
  13. Maybe instead of dropping back into coverage, the defensive line can line up in our own end zone, no matter where the line of scrimmage is.
  14. I fully agree, but at least we have Whaley to fix things.
  15. Does this mean the team will be more disciplined?
  16. Sadly, the above is a great summary. Whaley's first move since the extension sure was a smash!
  17. Hey, I wonder if Whaley was on board with this.
  18. In my perfect world he would come to Buffalo, but thanks.
  19. Bill, there is WAY more to it than the above. His daughter just got married and he is a recent grandfather. He set up his son with a car dealership.....in Alabama. He and his wife are very active in the church down there as well as charities and rebuilding after the tornado. But, there is probably more pressure in Alabama than there would be in the NFL. Tide Fans are as crazy as Bills Fans and would have almost no patience for a losing team. We can certainly agree to disagree, but imo Saban, if given control, would create an all world staff and organization, and turn around any losing team (ahem ). The man is a winner. That is a good and fair question CSB. I don't know if he would have AS much success at Syracuse, but he has improved every program with which he has been involved. My guess is that given time, a championship at Syracuse would not be totally out of the question.
  20. If you don't think that Saban would be a better coach than Doug Marrone I really don't know what to say.
  21. I am not a fan of Cowherd but he sure does make a great point here. He compares hiring Saban to hiring Marrone. I know this has been discussed before and if it the mods wish to close this, it's all cool. But if Saban leads the Crimson Tide to victory tomorrow, my fear as a Bama fan is that someone is going to offer him 10 million per season to coach in the NFL. It makes total sense even economically (as Cowherd explains). Think about it if you will, Saban or Rex? Not such a tough decision, ya know? Jmo.
  22. Are you certain that EJ is better than Mallett?
  23. Agreed, but doesn't this make post 26 something to strongly consider? Count me as one who would take a first round pick for Gilmore in a second. It really is telling that there are better ideas on this board than in the heads of Bills management.
  24. Serious questions, NOT a wisecrack: How many games would you say he won us? Now, has he lost us any games?
