Riverboat Ron gets a New Three Year Contract
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jauron was an complete, utter disgrace. Rex is just as bad. He has defensive linemen running backwards and jumping around like ballerinas, while telling us what "bullies" they are. As bad as Jauron was, he was easier to tolerate than Rex, but of course this is jmo. -
Tryout Player Renfrow Signs with the Bills
Bill from NYC replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It sure does. -
I would prefer a pass rushing defensive end. There are less humans who are big, strong and fast enough to play DE. There are more who resemble Leodis McKelvin. I do however appreciate the premise of your post. I do not believe that Gilmore should be the highest paid player on the Bills. He is a good corner, not a superstar. Personally, I expect Whaley to break the bank for Gilmore and give him virtually whatever he wants. If Whaley can actually refrain from over-spending on Gilmore, I will re-think some of my critical statements about him. Btw, if Gilmore is just THAT great (as many here surely believe) he should fetch us AT LEAST a first round pick, right? Well, under those conditions, count me as a proponent of trading him AND drafting a first round corner (if they like one) with the extra pick. Sound like a plan?

Cigarettes. I haven't had one since 10/15/15. If I had one today I would smoke 2 packs a day by Sunday, even though it would more than double my chances of death, according to my neurologist. That said, if anyone wants to try and quit you CAN do it. If I can quit, anybody else can.

First time in years I'm not as hooked.
Bill from NYC replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will yet again watch every play of every game. That said, I haven't felt as bad about a team since the year that Van Pelt started a chunk of games for us. All the color coded charts on earth will not make me think anything is OK wrt the defense. It was a sad, sick joke last season. Now, our #1 pick has a pre-packaged injury. Tyrod, imo, is going to be a very good qb some day, but maybe not for the Bills. Did they get him a #2 wide receiver? How many games will Watkins miss? How much does Karlos weigh? Who is playing RT? RG? Ryan did nothing to help this kid on offense. The team plays with no discipline and is run by a circus clown (Rex), a free spending kid in a candy store with a questionable at best strategy (Whaley), and a carnival barker (Brandon). It ain't pretty. -
Miller was pretty bad which was strange because I thought he looked good early in the season. Looking back, many of the great teams had a standout right tackle. Guys like Bob Brown and Erik Williams (I think the best ever) really made a huge difference on their teams. I never looked it up, but I always felt that teams that Jon Runyan played on did pretty well. Whaley can say what he wants about Kujo, but even as a huge Tide Fan I couldn't grasp that draft pick. Mills looked pretty bad to me and yes, Seantral IS talented, if he's ok.

A pass rush and a RT would work too. How long has it been since we had a good RT? Peters before he moved to the left? Jonas Jennings? I honestly think that Pears looked better than the crew at RT last season. EDIT: Badol, do you consider the RT position more or less important in a passing league? Must he be more agile with the smaller defenses?

Ryan's Defense: DL-men in Coverage
Bill from NYC replied to Ronin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree with this post. Mario is a huge defensive end, and is suited to rush quarterbacks. This is why few active players have as many sacks as he does. Marcel probably weighs 360 or more. He is not a pass defender. Rex took a capable, talented defense and destroyed it. -
Ryan's Defense: DL-men in Coverage

Didn't you read the previous page? Kyle Williams had an interception in game one of 2014!!! Doesn't this prove that Kyle in coverage is a great idea, or do you want me to switch my screen name to one which originated as a tribute to JP Losman, and break out color coded charts to prove that Rex's defense is great? -
Ryan's Defense: DL-men in Coverage
Bill from NYC replied to Ronin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, and failing to take into account linemen simply standing still, protecting an area. This after claiming the team would be "Bullies." Even more sickening is the abuse the OP has to take from pseudo football intellectuals for having the nerve to have an opinion that differs from their kool aid driven, color coded, boring as all hell drivel. -
Dareus probably weighs over 100 pounds more than Miller, and is just not built for pass coverage. Btw, do you really want to tell the posters and readers of TSW that sacks were down more than 60% as a result of Corey Graham not playing so well. Not Rex mind you, Corey Graham???!!! Congrats for the dumbest post that I have ever seen on this wonderful site. If you have time (and I'm pretty sure you do), why not make us another color coated chart of stupidity and "prove" to us that Graham, not Rex is to blame for the demise of the defense. You really are a complete waste of time. I have only myself to blame for indulging your idiocy even for a few minutes.

C.J. Spiller healthy now after 36 carry, 2 TD season
Bill from NYC replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rascals, yes, nice catch! I hope he chimes in on this thread. Manning was an all time great, but look at who was drafted the year before him: http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/teams/colts Meadows was very good and Glenn was great. Also, a hall of fame wr and rb didn't hurt. Today, the qb is actually much more important. I realize this but if it was up to me, I would have got more help up front for Tyrod in this draft. I view this as more important than an injured Lawson, but that's just me. -

I agree with the last 2 sentences. Absolutely. But CB, bad draft choices are the primary reason the Bills suck. I will not go over them one by one because you are right. I can't go back in time and change these stupid moves. But as far as Bulaga vs. Spiller (which I did not bring up), I doubt if even TBD's spokesman for the "He-Man Bills Fan Hater's Club" would say that he thinks Spiller was the better move. He would wiggle in a few insults to Bills Fans, but that's about as far as he could stretch it. PS: I hope I am NOT the only one who knows where that quote comes from. -

Bill from NYC replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, are we getting all out of sorts? Now, who is our current RT? Anybody as good as Bulaga? I'm afraid not. There are numerous threads on this board where people lament the FACT that the Bills suck at the RT position, and this is certainly true. Otoh, right now there are at least 2, perhaps as many as 4 running backs who are at least equal to Spiller, and I was kind with the word "equal.". And for every "A" game he has, Spiller will lose a team more than A game. So yeah, give me Bulaga, faults and all, over Spiller in any scenario CB. Come on now, really! -

Welcome to my world. :) I was going to post this. Can we please have another countdown? And maybe another for 10,000 yards rushing, no? -
I gotta admit, it DOES appear odd that the seemingly one time you are not all over the place praising the Bills, it comes in the form of an slight to Karlos Williams. It IS interesting e-man. Big Cat loves Rex, and seems to think that going from 54 to 21 sacks isn't really a big deal, but he throws a bit of sarcasm and skepticism in the way of Tyrod, another ray of hope in Rex's chaotic mess. I am NOT insulting you guys either. I'm really just trying to understand, and it isn't easy. Have a wonderful weekend! This is a great time of year and when it's over we get to see the Bills, (and for those of you who partake, the Tide )
-
This might very well be the case, but he was one of the best things to watch on the Bills last season, week after week. I don't know his combine numbers, be he sure looked fast for a bruising, punishing back, dontcha think?

RLB, jmo, but I would not place Thurman in a class with those 2 backs. Barry and McCoy make people miss with their moves. Thurman did too but I think his strength was the ability to SEE and get through a hole, He seemed to spot a hole as it was forming. He also was an all purpose back who was even great in pass protection. And let'sce facts, Thurman was a much tougher guy than either of them. Btw, I would be hesitant to sell Karlos short. I am not a fan of Whaley. I make than clear on this board but Karlos was a fantastic draft choice, and I credit Whaley for selecting him. And Badol is right.....it just makes sense for bigger backs to physically pound these smaller defenses, and it works. Imagine Karlos slamming into Kiko at full speed, with a 5 yard head start!!! I knew Spiller was a nightmare from the day he was drafted. I also thought Rob Johnson would be a great quarterback.

I am very sorry for this bad news.
