I have not had even one beer. I was told by all my doctors that 2 is ok. Like I said, I need a rest.

I am actually allowed 2 alcoholic beverages per day. The thing is I stretched this quite a bit over the years and want to give my body a brake. I find it 10x easier to give up than cigarettes. But you and Yolo are correct. Rex is harder to accept without a few beers!!!

I will no longer be posting a weekly thread after games. It really is time to pass the baton to someone else who may feel up to taking on the challenge. Last season, there were similar posts to mine and they were good. Here are my itemized (of course ) reasons: 1) First and foremost, I think that my time has passed and KNOW that others can do a better job of recapping the game. I want this for TBD. 2) My health is fine, much better than before. No smoking or even drinking since October, and I work out in the gym. That said, as amateurish as the posts were, they really did take time. I want to travel more to see my daughters, grand children, and friends. 3) I want to watch a game without a pen and notebook. 4) I might be coming up for a game this season. It's been a while and I miss it, especially the tailgates. 5) Having seen almost every play of every game for well over 2 decades, I have a bad feeling about this season. It is my opinion that Rex is destroying this team and that Whaley is almost as bad. I don't want to be in constant battles with those who think that this situation is good. There really might not be so many good things to report this year. But, this IS a Bills Fan Site, and I don't want to spend my Sundays bursting bubbles and depressing people I have grown to like SO much over the years I have spent here. Hey, I will continue to post. This, imo, is the only place for Bills football. Thanks to the mods & SDS for indulging me. Thanks so, SO much to each and every one of you for the dialogue. My "thoughts" were not all knowing declarations. They were just thoughts and observations and the intent was to create dialogue. I think that for the most part, it did work. And most of all, thanks for the support when I was sick. My daughters and I will never forget this. Not ever. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steward, Randall Johnson, or Reddick

Welcome to the board! This board is filled with hilarious, imaginative screen names, and imo yours is in the top 10. Thanks so much for the morning chuckle! -
Chandler Jones is gone from the AFCE! Traded to Cards
Bill from NYC replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are 100% correct, especially if Tyrod improves. It could cost 18 or 20 million per season to keep him if he gets better, which imo he will. Gilmore will probably cost 13 million per season. I think that he is a good player but I don't thing he is worth that much cap space. Jmo. -

I hope that this is true, but I will not believe it until I see it. Whaley seems to have a propensity towards trading up, and for over spending. -
Nigel Bradham's comments about Rex Ryan's defense

So do I, and I am admittedly very tough on Rex. I have high expectations for Tyrod, and I even think that he is a symbol of how NFL Football is evolving. -
Nigel Bradham's comments about Rex Ryan's defense

Very good post! I too am tired of fans being blamed for this mess. We thought we were getting a tough, aggressive defensive mind. I bought into this, until I saw Mario and Marcel dancing around, and consistently going backwards into coverage. There is no excuse for being down more than 60% in sacks. Not one. I enter this season with very low expectations. We rewarded poor coaching by giving Rex's brother a job. How many teams would do something this stupid? -

I really do hope you are right. For some reason our blowhard coach still has fans, but even the die hard will turn on him after he loses game after game this season with his undisciplined, ballet dancing defense. Whaley is another problem and hopefully he will be replaced sooner than later. Brandon, as far as I'm concerned, has no business on the payroll and should be fired perhaps as early as tonight. -
The right side was so bad last year that at times they lined up Mills next to Kujo, and I am NOT talking about a goal line drive. When a qb can run as good as Tyrod, it can mask poor line play. I pay an inordinate amount of attention to OL play during football games. I don't claim to be all-knowing, but from where I sit the Bills were better with Urbik in the lineup than they were with Miller. In other words, I have no idea what Whaley is doing wrt the OL.

Except for the fact that they were unable to sack quarterbacks as compared to 2014. They did however look ok in pass coverage.

Odds that Whaley does a "Sammy" in the draft?
Bill from NYC replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the odds are pretty good. Whaley (imo) has proven that he will spend the Pegula's money and resources like a drunken sailor. I have little reason to think that he can/will contain himself. I think that a good, disciplined GM can improve this team without squandering our future. The above is not to say he has never made any good moves. He has, but he is far from my image of a good GM. Again, the above is simply my opinion. -
Report: Fitzy to hit the market
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bledsoe had that awful game vs. Pitt. and we wound up with Losman. Sometimes that's all it takes. -
Thanks for yet another great post. I think that I would have placed a bit more importance on the kickers, but I guess that is just the old school talking. I also have a question.....why has the LT position seemingly lessened in importance? Here are some guesses: 1) Pass rushers move around more and the RT is catching up in terms of being important. 2) The quality of LTs doesn't seem (to me) to be as high. I am not seeing an Orlando Pace, Walter Jones, or Ogden. In fact, I think players such as Brad Hopkins or Jumbo Elliot might be the best LTs in the league today. 3) Qbs are getting rid of the all faster? Again, I don't disagree with your rankings but a LT used to mean MUCH more to a team. I lean quite frankly towards #2 above. When Pace was at his best, 99% of defenders couldn't do a thing with him. He pancaked defenders on pass plays and trampled them on running plays. Am I missing something or have things dramatically changed at LT? If so, why?

Are we actually considering Harvin????
Bill from NYC replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I completely agree, but Jet rejects are in these days. -
Same here. I wish Leodis well, but he represents what is wrong with this team. Draft choices such as McKelvin and Whitner set back a franchise for many, many years. Whitner collected approx. 36 million real cap dollars from the Bills, this when the cap was much lower. I am too lazy to see how much Leodis cost us but one can only imagine. Players such as Ryan Clady, Brandon Albert and of course Joe Flacco were drafted AFTER McKelvin. So sad..... http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/years/2008

Would a first round corner really surprise you?

I have no problem at all with the above. Under no conditions was it excusable for Mario to quit. That said, what I saw last year was very strange, SO strange that I am unable to come to a conclusion that Rex didn't totally lose whatever coaching ability he appears to have once possessed. In this sense, I see it as somewhat natural that the thread spun off in this direction. Remember, we were going to be "bullies," right? Instead, Rex had 100 million dollar, brutal pass rushers spinning, dancing, and running into coverage, including 350 or more pound Marcel Dareus. I need to watch a return to aggressive, non-Jauron football before I am sold on what has happened to this defense, and my hopes were set back when they hired Rex's brother. The term "knucklehead" was funny. The edit was not imo because it implies that I am or anyone else is suggesting otherwise. But, make no mistake.....Bills Fans are in a unique situation. Many of us will absolutely cling to any little thing in order to pretend that thinks are OK at OBD. In this case, it's the premise that Rex was a decent coach a few years ago. But facts are facts. The team went down more than 60% in sacks. This "great defensive mind" had a worse record than Marrone, a coach that nobody wants, despite huge offensive improvement, especially at quarterback. If everybody spent hours on end trying to prove to or convince other fans that things are working out well with Rex, this site would suck. It would be a place for science fiction more than for serious football discussion. I mean really, how much idiocy must one witness before putting down the pom-poms? And you are correct. I am a huge fan and a proud one!!! And, I DO see hope in terms of Mr. Pegula owning the team. I do however think that progress will be stunted until he gets rid of the ineffective people on the payroll. He should start with Brandon and work his way down. Just my opinion, NOT an all knowing, phony, stat driven proclamation.
