The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity
Bill from NYC replied to racecitybills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't be ridiculous. I EXPECT Ryan to lose. Therefore if he does (as I suspect he will) I want him fired. If he wins 10 or so games and we make the playoffs I would think that he deserves to stay. NOWHERE did I say that I WANT the Bills to lose. I can't even bring myself to want this when games don't matter and losses would give us a better draft pick. 26, this team went down more than 60% in sacks. 360 lb. Marcel Dareus drops back in pass coverage. Our best player just broke his foot and our 1st round draft pick is already going under the knife. If the above is a winning formula that sounds promising to you, let's agree to disagree and stay friends. Shall we? -

I don't think for even a minute that Rex will ever get the Bills to the playoffs. We might not see .500 again until Rex is fired, which I hope happens during the season. -

The OL needs talent on the right side and overall depth. -

Yes, the Ryan circus needs to leave town. -

What matters in this conversation really isn't Mario (imo). The Bills went down more than 60% in sacks with mostly the same players because of a sub-par coach who should be fired. 60%!!!!!!! I wonder how many times this has happened to any team, ya know? -
Alabama hiring Karl Dunbar as DL coach

Thank you. -
The above is SO true. This is why I consider pass rush to be much more important than the secondary. Even if a young Mel Blount was playing today, he could only cover 1 receiver at a time. Teams now use 4 or 5 wide sets on a regular basis. Pass rush prevents completions and causes turnovers. It's too bad there doesn't seem to be a way to keep track of coverage sacks, plays on which the coverage lasts long enough for the pocket to collapse. This is a vital area in which a good corner earns his money. That said, a professional receiver will get open given the time. Pass rush is the most important way to prevent this. Jmo. How did you like our corners in 2015? And how did you like our defense?

Davis is very good when healthy. I hope Miller gets better but bandit, he looks small to me. I was never one to trust the height/weight numbers teams release. Maybe I'm wrong, but I sat in row 2 once behind the Bills and it looked to me that Sam Adams weighed 375 and Pat William 400. Tell me, do you believe Marcel is 325? But I digress...... There is a thread about Ross Tucker speaking about the Bills. He is VERY high on Tyrod as a qb. So am I. In fact, imo he is the best running qb in the league. He is a good passer too considering he had all of 1 season to start! I really want to see him re-signed, and NOT for a 22 million or so dollar franchise tag. This matters more to me than Gilmore, and is of course just my opinion.

Do you or do you not realize that my response in this thread was to a link of a sportswriter (of whom I never heard) saying that Gilmore should be a priority over Tyrod. I disagree, so now you attack me? You sound like you don't agree with him too much either. I make the case that a solid qb (Tyrod) is more important than a pretty good defensive back (Gilmore). The Bills, since Kelly, have devoted far more resources to the secondary that the qb position, or perhaps any other position other than possibly running back. How did that work? Most important of all, it is great that posters here have different opinions. There are fan haters, Jauron lovers, and people who think EJ Manuel can play football. Some even think that Rex was OK last season. I don't agree with these folks but it is good to have them here. The day that posters here just agree on everything, this great site will suck. Jmo.

If the team HAD to lose either Gilmore or Tyrod, which loss would be more devastating? Would you like to go back to EJ? Ya think that would work? Seriously, you are quite the good poster. I mean this but I suggest that you open your eyes, if even to a squint. Take away Tyrod's rushing yardage and where would they rank? Mills needs to take a major leap forward. Kujo was flat out awful and Urbik was clearly superior to Miller. Hey, they brought in Slaussen for a reason. Improvement IS possible because these guys are young but I am not feeling all that great about it.

This post is crazy in so many ways. He wants us to place more importance on a corner than on Tyrod? How many Games has Gilmore taken over and won for this team as compared to Tyrod, who won behind an OL with a horrible right side and a defense that went from excellent to the toilet under Ryan? Maybe it's me, but imo Tyrod doesn't get the credit that he is due. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as Gilmore stays healthy he is going straight to Canton, right? Maybe Rex and Gilmore will get inducted together. -

Well that settles it. Gilmore is better than all of the above players. -
Absolutely!!!!! It reminds me when we drafted Whitner in 06.

I agree with this entire post and I think that with improved OL play, TT will be just fine as a passer. He really is pretty good now imo.

Bears release Matt Slauson -Signed w/ San Diego

I agree Scott. If he is any good at all at Guard we need him. I don't care if he ever plays tackle. -

Yeah, any way you look at it we are thin at guard and in dire need at OT. I doubt if this player will be moved to tackle. How about you? -

I'm sorry Promo, what is your point? -
Friendly, honest question: Can you think of even 1 move that Whaley has made........1 move, that you didn't whole heartedly agree with?
