  1. This is wonderful!!! TT is (imo) the best thing happening with this franchise, which was in dire need of some good news.
  2. Agreed. It is a scary situation and the man should let well enough alone before something terrible takes place.
  3. No my friend, Crimson Tide fan. The title game this year (which I mistakenly thought would be fairly easy) was one of the highlights of my sports watching life. That's why I specifically mentioned Kujo. I have seen almost every game he played in, and I'm saying he was the 4th or 5th best blocker on the Tide. I posted this way back when. Where we disagree is I don't think most of his actions are prudent, specifically the trades and the McCoy contract.
  4. I am a HUGE Crimson Tide Fan for many decades. I was glad to see them take Ragland, but I think that the sentence above is a problem. Whaley strikes me as the proverbial kid in a candy store. He gives away far too many draft choices and way too much money. When he DID trade down for draft picks he wound up with Kiko, and of course EJ Manuel. Shabby indeed. Yes, I do credit him with a couple of good draft picks, Darby is one. But his mistakes are glaring and huge. Even I knew that Kujo was injured, and not very good. EJ? McCoy's contract? Numerous draft pick giveaways? REX????!!!! I understand loyalty, but to whom are we loyal, Whaley or the Bills? Once again, my money says Rex won't last this entire season, and Whaley will be gone before next year. Hopefully they will turn out to be great, highly respected football gurus and I will be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. No, yours was lost some time ago when you declared war on and unleashed scorn upon Bills Fans. To call yourself a fan and spend untold time bashing other fans is bizarre behavior but I must say, original.
  6. Fair points. To clarify my stance, I am not trying to sell Bowles to you as a great coach. It shouldn't matter, but I even find his constant weird smile disturbing. I would not however make the case that Rex is better than Bowles because of head to head competition. Rex was/is experienced at coaching against Fitz and, I think had a better team. Jmo.
  7. I think so. If they still had Rex they would be drafting in the top 5.
  8. Consider this one of the oh so few times that I actually disagree with you, but here goes: Rex took a talented, aggressive defensive defense and turned it into a bunch of weak sisters, undisciplined to boot. They went from 54 to 21 sacks with talented pass rushers. It was a disgrace. Kyle and Aaron Williams are mentioned above. Kyle has taken a huge beating season after season. If he can hold up that would be great, but I wouldn't be 100% shocked if he is cut. I don't predict it mind you, but it wouldn't shock me. As for AW, any production from him would be a bonus. His injuries sounded serious, and frankly dangerous. Now, we lost our top 2 draft picks. When the contact starts, it's going to be an ugly, sad situation. I see no hope for this defense. Zero. I do however think we are on the same page wrt Tyrod. I think he really is the only hope right now for this team, and I hope they lock him into a long term contract. He brings another dimension to the team and I personally think he will even improve. I hope the receivers not named Watson get better, and this includes the perhaps fragile Clay. Once Rex and Whaley are fired, I will feel a lot better about the Bills.
  9. Absolutely! Many think Bryant was the best ever. Imo Saban is clearly superior to the Bear, and any coach in NCAA history. Not even close, but that's jmo.
  10. Interesting. My guess is that you are right, the older crowd is probably less tolerant of Rex. I tend to think it comes mostly down to the fact that as one ages, he or she is less likely to be fooled by a blowhard who brings nothing to the table. We have been around longer and seen and heard lots of Rex Ryan type losers. I must however give Rex kudos in that he has taken being a non-productive blowhard to the next level, and made quite a sum of money doing so.
  11. I agree. This is a major part of what is wrong with the Bills. Ours are sub-par and I am being kind. Or, do you think it is out players that make this such a bad team?
  12. You are making lots of sense CB. You and I differ about Jauron (I despise his defensive philosophy). I think he was an awful coach, yet I think Ryan is worse. This was a tough, aggressive defense. Now it is passive, undisciplined, and their best players are misused. I understand that this is a fan site, so it's great to keep the faith. That said, I wouldn't be too surprised if they win 5 games or less. The good news imo is that Taylor really does have a chance to be very good if he stays healthy. Will he be good enough to save Rex and Whaley? You tell me. I truly don't think Rex will last the season. I think Whaley will, but that's about it. I really am sorry to be so negative, but I am just unable to see good things happening with Ryan or Whaley. I hope to be happily surprised.
  13. I am all for giving TT a new contract. He is one of the few good things happening on this team.
  14. My bad, sorry. He will almost certainly enter the draft. I do humbly suggest that juniors be included in these rankings. It's tough to see a list of the top OTs without including the best. Not so sure if Kujo was projected to be a "stud" left tackle. Those guys are drafted in the first round. Kujo was the 4th or perhaps 5th best blocker on his team and had a serious injury to boot. If anyone wants Crimson Tide players on the Bills it is me. but this was one dumb draft choice and I said it when it happened. PS: By all reports he is a really good kid. I would absolutely love for him to have a long productive career.
  15. No Cam Robinson on this list? Sure, no problem.
  16. Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama) is only a soph. this year. If he doesn't get hurt I am of the opinion he will be a flat out superstar when he comes out but again, he will have to play this season and next. I truly hope that he stays healthy and keeps his head on straight. The kid is a tremendous prospect.
  17. The truth is, #Badol knows more about football than anyone I have ever met. I can think of perhaps 2 that might be in his class but that's it. Badol understands every phase of every game and is a long, long time season ticket holder. He tapes college games and studies them. By the time every draft rolls around he has been watching these kids for years. If you ask Badol for a 4th round right tackle or 6th round olb he can name names and I have seen him do it. Seriously. And yes, he can seem just a bit brusque on this board. That said, I suggest you have a beer with him at a tailgate. The man is an utter gentleman. He doesn't show off with his knowledge but will happily answer your questions. Another thing great about his posts is that he isn't afraid to go against the grain. He is willing to say that the Shady deal was a bad one. He backed me up when I said that Whittner and Spiller were wasted draft selections that actually hurt the team. Most posters thought they were good picks. Some STILL might! I have been posting here for about 20 years. I have met many of you and feel as if I know quite a few of you. You people were there in good times and bad and I thank you more than you could probably ever know. But I'm telling you, this board would be just SO boring if we all agreed on every issue. I almost never agree with Promo (although we seem to see eye to eye on Taylor ), but I make sure to read his posts. It's all good. PS: People, chances are that when you argue with Badol, you will be proven wrong. Make sure to take in what he says and revisit it down the road. You'll see. End of rant. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. I think that another coach would cut down on undisciplined penalties, and employ a sane defense. I am of the opinion that Tyrod is good enough right now to win football games and bring a team to the playoffs. I can't say the same for Rex or even Whaley, who is often sanctified on this board.
  19. At this point, TT is about the only thing that can save the Bills. I hope they redo his contract today. Between injuries and suspensions, the roster keeps on getting thinner, and this is before any contact. Not good. The GM is way over his head and we have one of the worst coaches in the league, if not THE very worst. The last time I felt this down on the team entering a season was the year AVP was the starter for a while. I know almost all of you cannot see it, but I sincerely believe that Rex will not last the season. We shall see.
  20. Once again I say that if Gilmore is half as good as some of you think, teams would be beating down our door to trade us a first round draft choice for him. Look, it IS a passing league, and a team WILL pay him, but he is certainly not worth the 14 or 15 million per year he will want. I would rather take the first round pick and pay Tyrod. This team will probably win 5 games or less if Tyrod isn't good or gets hurt. I happen to have a lot of faith in him and would strongly prefer spending the big bucks on a quarterback than giving Gilmore a huge guaranteed contract.
  21. As I have said many times, there were players drafted who were a lot worse than Whitner, but Whitner was the worst pick I can remember in semi-recent history. The 2006 draft was just stacked with very good players at a host of positions of need. Levy/Jauron set the team back for many, many years with their awful, disgraceful draft, and one could easily predict the disaster that ensued.
  22. Do you, or does anybody remember Dan Brandenburg? My memory is sketchy, but here is what I got: He was drafted in 1996 in round 7. I remember thinking he was small for a DE but his combine numbers were good. He was fast enough to play lb. No problem! When he hit the field in preseason he had qb sacks galore. He seemed to have blazing speed and good strength. I thought he was a freaking steal and couldn't figure out how he lasted until round 7. He looked like something special, until the season started..... He made the team and was absolutely crushed. He was pancaked at will on the rare occasions he played at lb, and never had a sack. He did last a few years on special teams, although I saw him get beat up there a couple of times as well. How about a thread about players that Bills fans KNEW would bust out?
  23. Your post says "Police" but the article quotes some chief. There really is a difference. Police take orders. If you dislike the situation I suggest blaming the politicians.
