From EJ to AJ ?? A Definite Upgrade !!
Bill from NYC replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ McCarron is one shining example of why it is SO important to draft quarterbacks. The Bengals got him late in Round 5. http://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/years/2014 The above is a link to the 2014 draft. We took stiffs in round 4 and 5, before McCarron was drafted. AJ played pretty well when he got in there and will fetch a 3rd or more in a trade, or so I think. When the Bengals drafted him, their qb was Andy Dalton and they took him anyway. When Whaley shunned him, our qb was EJ Manuel. What a mess. -
Bills are at Clemson this morning

Why not draft a qb AND keep TT? Would you rather we take the 2nd or 3rd highest rated corner or safety? How did that work out with Whitner and Gilmore? -
Drunk on 2 beers? Lucky you! I used to drink quite a bit of beer. If 2 was all I ever needed I would probably have another $50,000 in the bank.

Dolphins Cut Branden Albert
Bill from NYC replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL John, we are getting old. The younger posters (lucky for them) were not around for much of our suffering. When Whitner was drafted in 2006, I remember posting on TSW, asking if he was tall enough to get on all of the rides at Disney. We were here for draft after draft watching our GMs shun good quarterbacks and blockers for much less useful players. That said, I will never stop hoping. SOME day, we will have a killer draft! We will probably have to get rid of Whaley for this to occur but again, there is always hope. -

Ah yes, Brandon Albert. We could have drafted him or Flacco but opted instead for Leodis McKelvin. I mean after all, we "needed" a corner, right? I hope we don't do something so stupid this time around. -
It's time to get the band back together.

Good choice! Marcus Spriggs could block for him. -
I agree with you 100% but this time of the year is when Bills Fans can actually cling to hope. We have a top 10 pick which I suspect would be worth quite a bit. There will surely be opportunities to gain picks for this and next years draft. Will Whaley take advantage of this? Will he stay put and address important positions? Like I said we can only hope.

It is coach but I think we can win a few more games for having ousted Rex. Now, if we can have a productive draft without Whaley giving away our picks.......

Whaley wants Cardale to be 2017 starter

John C. is frequently on the money and has been for years. Sadly, he will soon be apologizing to me for saying that Whaley is anything near adequate. -

I'm sure this doesn't include the numerous times he just stood there dancing and futilely waving his arms. Rex and his bad defense were both an utter disgrace. -

Whaley put this team in a hole with the foolish, wasteful contracts and squandered draft picks. Rex made matters that much worse. Your post rightfully points fingers at Rex who was a disaster from day 1. Still, Whaley was as undisciplined as Rex. And then he sent this 350 lb. man into pass coverage. -

When you put it that well and in such simple terms I don't know if we should laugh, cry, or both. -

One site lists him as 6'7"/277. If true, he is a freak. It's hard to tell how fast he is from the video but he sure looks to be worth consideration. Nice fiend! -

Gilmore is a UFA. He is not under contract so he currently does not count against this years cap. Fantastic point! Taylor? I'm not so sure but in my very strong opinion he would NEVER give Gilmore a huge contract. -
"True dark ages." Indeed. Watching these men destroy the team was painful, but being at games with you and others at Lot 1/Pole 4 eased the pain. The best part of rooting for the Bills (imo) was always the interaction with other fans. Btw, I do not for one second rate Whaley above the people you listed above. This team has major holes, isn't in great shape wrt the cap, overpays decent and or/players with major issues, has qb issues, faces a tough schedule, and is low on draft picks. Only Bills Fans are loyal enough people to support a disgrace such as Whaley. Jmo.

The NFL Gets Into Politics - Do You Care?
Bill from NYC replied to IDBillzFan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes, I agree but any person or entity is capable of making a mistake. The people who decide this are more educated than me but I think they are making a mistake. And to the OP, yes, I do care but not to a very large extent. I am hoping/planning on moving to NC. Gov. Cuomo wants to or did cut off business from NYS to NC. He is, imo of course, a complete a-hole. He is taking a stand for and against who? For men who want to wear a dress and go in a women's bathroom, and against mothers and fathers who could do without their daughters exposed to pervs and psychotics? PS: I have nothing whatsoever against trannies. In my career I have dealt with hundreds of them. If anything, I have compassion for them. That said, I don't really think that the world owes it to them to cater to their whims/cravings. -
He told of how he was on the Bills when they dumped Bledsoe and went with Losman. He went on to say that the best players on the team were furious and virtually quit on the team. They knew that there was no chance to win with Losman. He also said that players such as Incog, Glenn, Wood, and others would do the same if Whaley cuts Tyrod and goes with CJ. He went on to list several dumb moves by Whaley (letting go of Hogan, drafting EJ Manuel and other stupid moves). He is NOT impressed with Whaley, nor am I. I guess any time a Bills Fan thinks that it can't get worse with this team, reality smacks us in the face. I for one hope that we keep Tyrod and fire Whaley, who is a rank amateur and a sub-par joke of a GM. I do however hope that he keeps us posted with fashion tips. He sure knows how to dress (and destroy a football team). GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John, I base my opinion of Whaley on MANY things, although the first one does happen to be how he mishandled the QB position. I heard yesterday on Sirius that the Patriots are 63 million under the cap. 63 Million!!!! We are nowhere near this and we pay Clay approx. 63 Billion to be an average Tight End. Whaley did have some OK signings and draft picks. For instance Darby is OK for a 2nd round pick. Hooray! The man drafts crippled players with high picks and gives away draft picks at will. Who put the clause in the overpaid Marcel Dareus contract that drug suspensions were ok? Whaley, imo, is an utter disgrace. He might not appear to be a clown/buffoon like Rex, but he is a rank amateur. Tell me, if he is fired, do you think there will be an NFL team stupid enough to hire him as GM?
