  1. Oh, ok. I will change my vote from QB lol!
  2. 31 votes for secondary. 5 votes for a LB and 1 for a DE. Pass rush takes a back seat to the secondary? It's almost as if we hate ourselves.
  3. Grudge? Absolutely not, now nor ever!!!!! I don't even remember this but I am guessing my stance on RJ was just as bad or worse lol!!! I wish you would have sent me a PM if you thought that I would harbor that sort of grudge. And you know, this is the time of year we can all be hopeful. I mean, we haven't been knocked out of the playoffs yet, or shunned qbs in the draft. We have not yet squandered our best draft picks on defensive backs. The dialogue is great, thank you.
  4. Good post! It's easy to fall into that trap when your team acquires a qb with some talent. RJ had tons of talent. I mean this. He was big, had a superb arm, could run, and was even accurate. Losman could run and had a good deep arm. EJ was big and he too threw a pretty good deep ball. It was easy believe that these guys would develop and lead our team to the next level. I became much harder to fool after thinking RJ might be a top 5, or easily top 10 qb. With EJ, the entire premise of trading down 8 slots and drafting a qb was weird, wouldn't you say? Would you, or anyone reading this not jump right on a player who you thought was a franchise qb? What this tells me is that they had EJ rated about the same as Geno Smith. Bad news from day 1 in that sense. I wish EJ well. He is a horrible qb, but he seems like a good kid. He is no longer hurting this team That said, Whaley is a horrible GM and should be shipped out of town. He IS killing this team.
  5. Fluker is listed at 6'3" which is generally considered a tad too short for an OT. I would LOVE for him to come to the Bills as a Guard. He's a hard worker and is really, really strong. His name was mentioned here before but he didn't get rave reviews from posters. Oh well. He is visiting with the Giants today. Their weakness is their OL and my guess is that they will sign him.
  6. That's for sure. Using our best resources on players such as Whitner, McKelvin and Gilmore is why we have all of these playoff appearances!
  7. He was a solid player and I wish him well.
  8. The above is pretty much where I am at. I totally understand what you said about happy mediums. I used to drink too much beer, mostly cheap beer at that. I stopped for a year and was fine, meaning not a great struggle. My doctors all say that 2 drinks a day are ok. I do this with my girlfriend now once every 1 or 2 weeks, and for whatever reason I can no longer stomach commercial beer. So, I do 2 IPAs or craft beers every now and then and it's cool. That said, I have watched almost all of the Bills and Alabama games alcohol free. It doesn't bother me but to be honest its a little confusing. Once I am actually sitting there looking at the games I don't care at all, which is great. I have not smoked a cigarette since 10/15/15 and never will smoke again. That is getting easier but urges still occur. If I can quit cigarettes anybody can, although it is tougher (for me) than alcohol by a wide margin. I'm not sure how this is for other people.
  9. Please, PLEASE post more often!!!
  10. Bills Fans are a loyal bunch, to the point where many of us (myself included at times) continue to delude ourselves. EJ cannot play at the NFL level. It doesn't even seem possible. But hey, I thought that RJ was the real deal.
  11. He was an absolutely horrible player on the Jets in the games I watched. A friend of mine is a huge Jet Fan and would always complain about him. I am gonna call him up and get more info. EDIT: From my Jet Fan friend: "He was a 2nd round project/reach by Rex Ryan who never developed. He is literally as strong as a horse (expletive deleted). A few times a year he will throw someone around or pancake a tackle but athletic ends beat him like a rented mule." He sounds like another Chris Williams type Whaley special.
  12. Yeah, let's have another great, productive draft like we did in 2006! It didn't set us back 5 years, ya know?
  13. I couldn't agree more.
  14. I don't have the stats to prove it but he would frustrate me by giving up key first downs. I know that it wasn't all his fault but I really think we could have won more football games if he would have put forth more effort. The skillset was there.
  15. Yeah, the 49ers gave him 70 million or so as I recall. I liked Nate because he was a great athlete and a hard worker. He was also a very good return man. Btw, the new posters should note that ours is what arguments look like on TBD!
  16. I hear ya brother! Thank you. As I said, I don't think he wanted to be here. Neither did Clements and he didn't play so well after he left as I recall.
  17. Sure, Gilmore has talent and BB has 60 million in cap space, plus Brady. Make no mistake, I respect you as a poster but you are usually not so dismissive to those who disagree with your takes, and I have been reading your posts for many, many years.
  18. His lack of effort last season was more than that 1 play that you so readily excuse. Other people agree; you do not. What makes your takes all knowing and beyond dispute?
  19. Why? Because they disagree with you? Have you ever been wrong about a player?
  20. I haven't gone over the responses to this, but I am guessing that there are 20 or so excuses for that play. Gilmore is a talented player who put forth a lackluster effort last season. Will he play better in NE? Probably. Hogan did. In any case it's clear (imo) that he didn't want to be here. His situation reminds me a bit of the circumstances under which we lost Clements, who I actually preferred over Gilmore. I wish him luck but let's just say it won't take me that long to get over his departure.
  21. He blocks pretty well on running plays but gets beat a lot on pass protection, wouldn't you say? And of course Tyrod makes him look much better than he really is.
  22. Fluker is better than our entire right side combined.
  23. I know, I can't even blame Whaley for this in good faith!
  24. I would take him, but only if James Hardy turns us down.
