  1. Oh you are so right about RT!!! The only good ones I remember since the playoff days were Jonas Jennings and of course Jason Peters. Both moved to LT and then out the door. People often blast Pears but as mediocre as he was, the man was great compared to Corey Louchiey, Terrance Pennington, Mills, etc. And don't even get me started wrt Guards!
  2. Imo the draft will determine the direction in which this team heads. I have seen the Bills in this situation (recently departed first round corner) many, many times. If we jump on a replacement at #10 in this deep corner draft, the situation will get worse. I am all about using our best draft resources on qb, wr, blockers and pass rushers. Whaley traded away picks so trading down would seem to be a good move if we can get the right price.
  3. This post seems to imply that coaching was the only thing holding EJ back from stardom. It was not. There were some physical issues and certainly some mental issues as well. Tom, if teams thought coaching was his only problem, he would have been offered a HUGE contract instead of a chance to be third string on the Raiders. I hope that you are right but this imo, is a huge reach. How do we know if Cardale is "moldable." Isn't he a 4th round pick who lost his starting job in college. He seems to have a few tools. So did RJ and so did Losman.
  4. But calling someone named Bill "Madam" is OK? Sure, very respectful.
  5. Madam? Is that the way you want to go? I have a better idea.....why don't you go F#%* yourself.
  6. I didn't say that, and I don't appreciate your sanctimonious comments. Whereas you are something of a newcomer, I am guessing that most of your posts will be equally stupid. Other than that, welcome to TBD.
  7. In retrospect it was a stupid move and it represents a huge lack of discipline from Whaley. He likes to give away the store.
  8. Btw in the Sirius mock draft today, Kirwin has the Jets taking OJ and the Bills drafting the corner from Ohio State. Wow would that suck!!!
  9. I don't know but your screen name is probably in the top 20 funniest ones I have ever seen here.
  10. What the F%#* are you talking about? Seriously. I would not come within miles of the things that you mentioned and neither would (in my very strong opinion after almost 20 years) 99.99% of the posters here. And, SDS would be the very last person on earth to allow this. He would shut the board down before allowing racism and bigotry, let alone criminal behavior. Really, WTF????? If you think that posters are bigoted pedophiles and you DON'T report it, something really is wrong with you.
  11. I disagree. I knew Lori very well and while the Graham thing had a major impact on her, I didn't sense a crush. Lori is a journalist in her own right. She also knew as much about football as any fan (with 1 exception) who I have ever come across. Lori is brilliant and a truly nice person. It was a sad day when she left TBD.
  12. Me too and he (imo) proved himself to be correct at the time. His premise was that a team needed big time depth at the DT position. Now the league is obviously geared more toward passing but he made tons of sense back then. Great guy too!
  13. I doubt that EJ will make their final roster. Imo he is that bad, but I don't wish him any bad things. He did try; I just do not think that he is an NFL level qb.
  14. Yeah, beers can go down fast during games. With the Bills, I think 1t has much to do with anxiety. Many Bills Fans watch games waiting for the bottom to fall out, and then it happens. Next thing you know you have finished 6 or 8 beers. As for the Crimson Tide, I think it is different. This season they would start games rather slow on offense, but the defense would keep it close. You could see that they just needed the opponent to make one mistake and they would put the game away. You are sitting there watching this well oiled machine and there go the same 6 or 8 beers. There are a few Bills/Crimson Tide Fans on this board. I think most will agree that it truly is mixing pleasure and pain. Imagine going from Rex to Coach Saban! I guess it's easier for me to have none than my allotted 2.
  15. NOW I know what Whaley sees in him! Whaley is the most inept GM in the NFL. He will never get another job in this capacity, but he sure is a great dresser.
  16. I strongly urge you to get involved in your church or synagogue. If you want to, start small. My church feeds hungry people. Just bringing food to the food bank will make you feel good. I went back to church a few years ago after having not gone for decades. I made sure to sit on the aisle because I didn't want to talk to anyone on the way out. Not good. Now, I have met and am friendly with a group of nice people. If you think it might help, don't be shy.
  17. I say the same thing about Miller. I read here a while ago that someone called him the most improved player or something of the sort. I don't think Miller is good at all against the pass. He's only 6'2" and a little light in the ass imo.
  18. I am a fan of OJ Howard and have seen every game in which he has appeared. He has fresh legs because there were always so many weapons on the Tide that he wasn't used an awful lot. He is big, fast, gets open and has very good hands. His blocking continues to improve as well. Despite the above, #10 is a tad early imo. If a solid, playoff team thinks it needs a TE to get to the next level I would understand. The Bills have too many needs to take a TE that early. I also don't think he will go that soon. Probably between 15 and 25 but of course I am just guessing.
  19. I agree with you but not completely. Maybe I'm nuts, but I think that a healthy TT, some offensive help (perhaps OL, WR, or TE) and good coaching could get this team into the playoffs. That said, I would still make a qb the 1 priority. You can't go wrong with qb depth. Now, will these things happen? History says no but again, there is hope this time of year.
  20. Let's not forget McKelvin and Whitner. Did THEY result in playoff wins? And John, this losing philosophy goes back decades. When Kelly, Bruce, Thurman, and Andre were still good but growing older, the Bills were not drafting bpas to step in. They were drafting first round defensive backs. For a while it looked like the common denominator was Levy, but it continued after he left. That said, Levy/Jauron took quite the toll on this club. We really have still not recovered. I suspect that I think more of Tyrod than you do. Still, imo the Bills should trade down AND grab a qb. If thy really like one in particular I hope they stand pat and grab him. If they are sold on TT, how about a blocker, pass rusher or wide receiver? Jmo.
  21. Please explain to me why the above would not apply to the secondary. Landon Collins was an ok player for a second round pick, no? It seems like a very deep draft for the secondary. There looks to be no rush. Whaley is an impatient amateur; I hope he doesn't reach in this draft or give away the store once again.
  22. Oh, ok. I will change my vote from QB lol!
  23. 31 votes for secondary. 5 votes for a LB and 1 for a DE. Pass rush takes a back seat to the secondary? It's almost as if we hate ourselves.
  24. Grudge? Absolutely not, now nor ever!!!!! I don't even remember this but I am guessing my stance on RJ was just as bad or worse lol!!! I wish you would have sent me a PM if you thought that I would harbor that sort of grudge. And you know, this is the time of year we can all be hopeful. I mean, we haven't been knocked out of the playoffs yet, or shunned qbs in the draft. We have not yet squandered our best draft picks on defensive backs. The dialogue is great, thank you.
  25. Good post! It's easy to fall into that trap when your team acquires a qb with some talent. RJ had tons of talent. I mean this. He was big, had a superb arm, could run, and was even accurate. Losman could run and had a good deep arm. EJ was big and he too threw a pretty good deep ball. It was easy believe that these guys would develop and lead our team to the next level. I became much harder to fool after thinking RJ might be a top 5, or easily top 10 qb. With EJ, the entire premise of trading down 8 slots and drafting a qb was weird, wouldn't you say? Would you, or anyone reading this not jump right on a player who you thought was a franchise qb? What this tells me is that they had EJ rated about the same as Geno Smith. Bad news from day 1 in that sense. I wish EJ well. He is a horrible qb, but he seems like a good kid. He is no longer hurting this team That said, Whaley is a horrible GM and should be shipped out of town. He IS killing this team.
