NFL Offensive Linemen are 300+ lb. genetic mutants. They know the snap count and get to fire out on running plays. When they pull they have even more of a running start. On pass plays, they are often going backwards and they are getting hit in lieu of being the aggressors. I think that this is why a player like Mike Williams looked so good in college. As I recall, he might have set a combine record for the bench press. At Texas, he would flatten his opponents on runs. In the pros, he lacked agility and balance and would at times even get pushed to the ground on some passing downs. Again, I don't think that OL sucks. I do however think that we overrate our center and right guard. I am glad we drafted the kid from Temple. Jmo.

I respectfully disagree. It is just SO much easier for offensive linemen to run block than pass block, which is of course more important these days. Right Tackle means much more than it used to and the Bills had huge problems there last season. Also, I disagree with those who blame the Bills OL problems on Tyrod. Imo he buys time and makes the OL look better than it is. The current OL is not as bad as it was in the Levy/Jauron days. Those lines had some of the very worst players I have ever seen. Still, this line needs work in my opinion. I would rate it to be pretty close to average.

Vince Young cut (update: and complaining)

It makes sense that he is a lawyer. On the field, he looked like a regular person, not like Jumbo Elliot or Jason Taylor, etc., yet he was playing LT in the NFL and getting beaten half to death. There is a LONG list of horrible offensive linemen who played on this team. A good friend who is a Jet Fan told me that Ducasse is one of the worst players he has ever seen. Not good. -

There were times while watching Jerman that I was genuinely concerned about him and/or others being killed on the field. Defenders used to knock him down, step on him, and sack the quarterback. -
Yes, and I admittedly was furious when they let him walk, without knowing about any possible injury. I saw it in the sense that they traded up to draft him, and he did all that one could expect. AL was a left tackle in college which helped him quite a bit wrt pass blocking. On running plays, he got great angles and was a fine blocker. Next thing I knew, he didn't get an offer. Hey, Whaley was (imo) a disaster. A sub-par GM and I am thrilled that he is gone. But yes, he was right about Levitre.

I think we both know that I never said "at any cost." I still suspect that he was hurt when he left, thus making it a good move not to sign him. That said, he look pretty good last season, no?

You beat me to the punch FIC. That was accepted as truth for years!!! I have one for you that I think at least 1/2 of the posters still believe: "Gilmore is a shutdown corner." I suspect that he will not go over so well with Belichick, but if I'm wrong it won't be the first time.

Did you ever see Greg Jerman at left tackle? -

Good to see you back! -
I still think Henry will do quite well and keep your eye on a freshman this year named Najee Harris. Hey, he is a baby and we don't know if he can play football yet. But, he is 6'2"/230 lbs. (some places say 224) and runs a 4.3 40.

He sounds like a really nice guy. People must be victimizing him for no reason. -
Jonathan Williams DUI verdict: Not Guilty

I'm sorry, maybe I was being to literal. In NY, the charges are listed in the report. What I was getting at is that tickets were at no time handed to the accused. -
Ya know, in Alabama he played behind the best OL I have ever seen in college football. Life was pretty easy for TJ but as I said, he did everything pretty well including seeing and anticipating holes. I would love to see him sign with us as long as we don't have to give up a lot.

Different system in NY. The DMV charges are listed on the arrest report. Summonses are not issued. Police officers do not issue summonses to incoherent drunks. They arrest them. -
As I recall, Henry didn't get much playing time with Yeldon. He shared time with Eddie Lacy. Yeldon is a big, strong runner with some speed. He can also catch as well as block. I haven't kept close track but I suspect that his pro career has been hampered by injuries. If this kid is healthy, the Bills would be well advised to grab him for a reasonable cost.

You do not issue tickets to a drunk driver. You arrest him. All summonses (other than parking tickets) are in lieu of arrest. -
Not on purpose lol. I remember that game. It was in the bag! Losman threw some great passes but could not kill the clock with a first down or 2 and win the football game. I was never a fan of Losman; I always thought he was horrible. Seriously, from day 1. But again, I thought RJ was going to be not good but GREAT!!! For the record, I think that the second string quarterback on the University of Alabama Crimson Tide is going to be a superstar. I am talking about a modern day Kenny Stabler but as I readily admit, I could be wrong. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a game like that against Miami which he tanked, no?
-
Which team won?
-
There was an article about Dareus and his coaches after the one about Losman. I must say that it was very encouraging. It sounds like Marcel is getting the discipline that (imo) he strongly needs to play up to his potential in this league. I don't think that Marcel had much of a chance to reach his peak with Rex due to the easy ship he ran, not to mention the stupid defense he employed.
-
I wish he would come back. He usually made sense when he wasn't posting about Rex. Every long time poster here has misjudged some players. I thought that Rob Johnson was a tremendous talent and would make a great quarterback. And I wanted the Bills to draft Ryan Mallett.

Same here CBF. What a pity and may God rest his soul. -
How should Brandon feel?
-
As I recall, the Bills players were very upset as well. I am not saying that players should call the shots but they seemed to be correct in this instance.
-
In strictly a football sense, a case could be made that Levy/Jauron were every bit as bad. They just lacked the theatrics. And, if Brandon played a role in hiring these people, he should be fired. In fact, he should be fired even if he did not.
