ROLL TIDE ROLL BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you mean it thanks! I really am just so freaking thrilled. BB, this was perhaps their 7th or 8th best team in the 11 years of Saban. This was his best coaching job by far. Without major injuries, next years team will be much better. Seriously.

Do you have a local crying room?

Step down hater, step down!!! Time for a mood coloring book?

Yeah, OK!!! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No doubt, especially as a pro prospect. Hurts truly might not be the best QB on Alabama. If he was injured (God forbid) on the first play of the game, it might not matter all that much. Have you seen Tua play? That said, what separates Hurts from a freshman is how cool and calm he is. I have seen every one of his games and he never gets rattled. The kid doesn't panic and is Derek Jeter cool. Last week he was asked by a reporter what he did in the city of New Orleans before the game. His answer was "Nothing." Trust me BB, it was a business trip for this kid. I have stated ad nauseam that this Alabama team isn't as good as the previous 2 and they could easily lose this game. Kirby Smart is a great coach but you might want to look at Coach Saban's record against ex-assistants. It's pretty good. I wouldn't bet the farm on UGA, but that's just me.

I'm guessing that you said the same thing about Clemson, and that the SEC was no longer any good. Am I close? The truth is that Ga. and the Crimson Tide are about equal this season, and the Tide is once again a little dinged up. That said, a freshman qb against Coach Saban really isn't such a safe bet. Also, Coach Saban is 10-0 in Atlanta. It matters that Bama usually doesn't beat themselves, and most of the team has been there before. We will find out soon enough. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His personality might have to be toned down in the NFL. Jmo.

Was it THAT bad when they destroyed your favorite team?
-
Every single sportscaster I listened to today predicted that the National Championship Game bound University of Alabama Crimson Tide was going to lose. Well, it's time once again for all jealous haters to step down because the Tide once again did prevail. The Bills are in the playoffs!!!! The Crimson Tide are in the Championship game!!!! GO BILLS AND ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Team again quit on McDermott
Bill from NYC replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is my point. If the Bills do advance in the playoffs (not an impossibility mind you), I think that Tyrod may stay. Think about what happened when Peterman was brought in. We at TBD are the diehard fans but what would this board be like after another Petersman disaster or 2? Maybe I'm wrong, and there are parts of TT's game that are tough to defend, but I don't know if I can think of a precedent of a team dumping their playoff qb, in his prime. If they lose to Jax I suppose anything can happen. -

On that note, does it buy credit for Tyrod? -

What QB do you want to draft.
Bill from NYC replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. He has only lost a couple of games in his entire life. And I like the fact that he has been sitting on the sidelines and learning. He's a very smart kid. If the Bills go with our plan, there would be no rush to toss the rookie in there. He could sit behind McCarron and learn. Another bonus would be to keep the extra picks and bolster both lines. -
What QB do you want to draft.
Bill from NYC replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If McCarron wins his grievance and is a UFA, I am in favor of signing him AND drafting a qb. My draft selection at this very early stage is Mayfield but this may change, and I wouldn't want to trade an excessive amount of picks to move up. Please, let's not give away the store ala Whaley!!! -
Oh, White is a very good player. I think that he is already superior to Gilmore, but imo he was a poor choice. We traded our pick and we could have instead drafted Deshaun Watson. Then, we made how many other moves in the secondary? This was his obvious priority. This rings of Jauron ball to me. There are things to like about McDermott, but my fear is that he is a play "not to lose" type of coach. It doesn't work. Never has and never will.

Year End Awards TBD style
Bill from NYC replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are just so many posters who know a ton about football. Many can even put aside the fact that they are Bills Fans and make intelligent comments. I thank you all! That said, there has never been a poster on TBD who understands football and the Bills to the degree that Badolbilz does. I wish there were more who came close. A friend who used to post here named Lori was certainly in his class. She put hours of research behind her posts and I do miss her presence on this board. The tailgates with those 2 at RWS were great beyond words. Badol knows about many of these players before they arrive at college. He watches a million college games and if you ask him for a solid Guard who will be there in Round 3 or 4, he can name several. Again, this post is not to slight anyone else. The guy simply stands alone in his football knowledge. If you don't believe me, meet up with him at a tailgate and ask him a few questions. -
Watkins and Woods would have been better with Tyrod
Bill from NYC replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Do you remember the game in which Woods caught a pass and fell down sideways? It was bizarre and talked about quite a bit on this board. I can easily believe that he was playing hurt here. -
No, I actually cannot say this about TT. We used 2 first round picks and a fourth to get Sammy. This, on a team with quarterback issue. That (to me) is a virtual textbook definition of a wasted draft pick(s). TT cost us virtually nothing, and it's not about whether or not I "like" him. Obviously I don't despise him the way you appear to. I find him to be an exciting player who probably has enough talent to take a team to the playoffs. Sadly, I don't think that he makes his reads fast enough to be a top 10 qb in this league. I have followed football for close to 50 years but I don't know enough about qb play to say for sure whether or not coaching can help this to a large degree. I tend to think not. I am all about drafting a quarterback in 2018. I also want to draft OL and DL. I hope that it happens but the Bills tend to focus on defensive backs and running backs in the draft. This is what is to blame for the Bills not making the playoffs to a much larger degree than is TT. Sadly, it seems to never end. Oh, and starting Peterman was one of the dumbest coaching moves I have ever seen. Happy New Year Bro!!!!!!!!!!

Same old story. Sammy was "good." So were Whitner and Gilmore and all 3 of them were wasted draft picks. They didn't win game for us and put us in the playoffs.

A few thoughts about the Patriots game
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) It's hard to play the Patriots, but it's even more difficult to play the Patriots, the refs, the networks and the advertisers. This game did not go a long way to making me trust the NFL. 2) I will say this for McDermott......the team puts forth a solid effort. 3) Dawkins looks like a very good LT. I thought he would be good coming into the season but he far exceeded my expectations. 4) Why can't we find a player in the 4th round like this kid Trey Flowers? He looked like the strongest guy on the field and he isn't THAT big. We need a player just like him SOOO bad! 5) If you hear that same sweet song again, will you know why? Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passing by. Laugh in the sunshine Sing, cry in the dark, Fly through the night. Don't cry now. Don't you cry. Don't you cry any more, La da da da da. Sleep in the stars, Don't you cry. Dry your eyes on the wind, La da da da da da! 6) This team, despite the final score, looks promising. I have not felt this way in many years. 7) Merry Christmas to each and every one of you, and may God bless you all and all of your loved ones. 8) Keep up the good work Virgil and thank you. 9) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I could very easily be wrong but imo, Mayfield's draft position will be greatly influenced by his playoff performance(s). NFL teams might be reluctant to pass on him if he lights it up. Not drafting Watson bit a lot of teams in the ass, including the Bills. I can't see Mayfield dropping to the Bills unless he completely tanks.

I know. I was merely responding to the OP's comment (the one you responded to) about McDermott having this much power. I think it is too early to tell whether or not it was a smart move to make him this strong. In some ways, McDermott reminds me of Levy which is a tad unsettling. But he sure is 100x better than Rex, rookie mistakes notwithstanding.

I like #2. Call me crazy but I consider Smith to be a better QB than Cousins by a considerable amount. Maybe not but Levy had his issues as well. Very serious issues.
