Candid conversations w college coaches
Bill from NYC replied to Cripple Creek's topic in College Football
Thanks for a great link. Believe it or not I am surprised to see THAT many coaches (92%) called Alabama the best team. The secondary is brand new and the lbs are thin due to injury so I am not exactly sure how good they are on defense. On offense.....different story. This offense might be even better than the one who wiped out Notre Dame. They have stars at every skill position and the OL (if they remain healthy) is just stacked. -
Being polite is not allowed in school

Maybe the teacher was a trans sexual. -
I agree with this 100%. A person who put their life on the line deserves respect for having done so. Period. That aside, there are few politicians that I hold in a lower regard than John McCain. He was a shill for Hillary Clinton. He supported her agenda and worked hard against his president. To this day I think that he was nominated to assure that Obama would win, and I think the same of Romney, that sellout scumbag. I do however thank McCain, Graham, Romney, Rubio, Kasich, and others for turning me off to most republicans.

But CB, exactly WHICH police department? Besides, police departments don't let psychopaths out on bail. Courts do and to be fair, the mental health laws make it hard to hold someone. Are you familiar with this? I had a case where this old guy's wife passed away. He then lived alone on a fairly wealthy street. He was the godfather to the lady next door, now in her 50s. He started smoking crack and bringing pimps, prostitutes and drug dealers to his house. They were on this beautiful block at ALL hours. His neighbors and 2 daughters took him to court, claiming he was incompetent. This guy had a clean sheet and was apparently normal his whole life. He told the judge he was fine and the daughters just wanted his money. The judge ruled in his favor CB and didn't hold him. As for Incog, he could kill someone at will with his hands, let alone 5 guns. He didn't. I don't worship him because he was a Bill and wouldn't choose to be his friend in the shape he is in, but; he didn't hurt anyone in this incident. I have seen some of these guys up close. I was there one of the times Gastineau was arrested and was talking to him. He wasn't taking care of himself and was in bad shape by then. Still, he could have ripped someone's head off at will and he was a weakling compared to Jumbo Elliot when he was acting out. These guys are genetic mutants, many crazed on steroids. You see where I am going, no?

A problem in the SEC is that Bama is SO good, one can forget that there are other first rate teams. Auburn and UGA are powerhouses, and (imo) Mississippi State is a very good football team. Fitzgerald is a fantastic college qb and their OL is almost always strong. I do completely agree that we need to watch some games before we have educated opinions. The Auburn-Washington matchup intrigues me. Who do you like in that game?

I will not argue with you about the Big 10. There are quite a few good teams in that conference and some of them are likely to beat each other up and affect the rankings. As for conferences like the Pac 12, ACC, and the Big 12? Please. These conferences are weak in comparison to the SEC, wouldn't you say?

This might sound weird but the bolded indicates to me that he was crying out for help. The guns in the trunk were more than enough for suicide by cop. I applaud him for not taking his own life and harming the life of (or killing) a random police officer, or any other person. I pray that he gets better and receives the help that he so desperately needs. I I am sorry that you feel this way. Did you have a bad experience with the police when you were arrested?

I don't know man. Iko Iko was a Brent masterpiece down to the very last 2 notes. Jerry would look at him and smile that whole tour. I remember Jerry telling a reporter that Brent was settled in and he wanted him to take a more active role. Like I said, summer/89 was as good as it gets. Enjoy!
-
The safeties would have killed those guys. One Raider game with Atkinson and Tatum and those guys would be finished.
-
The bolded is a very interesting perspective. I think that Brady has the talent to have got rid of the ball on time in those days, no problem at all. I do however think that he would have been beaten half to death by late hits. Players must pay these hefty fines themselves now so the late hits are less common. Today, receivers own the middle. Jack Tatum, Steve Atwater, Ronnie Lott, etc. owned it back in the day and that makes a huge difference. I do however respectfully disagree about Marino being the best of all time.
-
The shows from 1989 are my favorite. Alpine Valley, Philly and of course Buffalo were just superb. Jerry was (or at least strongly appeared to be) sober and Brent was at his best. You could tell by the look on their faces that they knew they had it together.

I am more impressed by the small windows that he needs to complete passes. This from a kid who was labeled as, "inaccurate." I don't know if he will start immediately but I was thrilled when he was drafted and even more pleased today. -
2nd Update: Early 2019 mock draft
Bill from NYC replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in College Football
Have you seen Jonah Williams? He looks great but not very big for a LT. You want an interior lineman? Here he is...... https://rolltide.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3940 Notice that he is one of those big Iowa farm boys. -
2nd Update: Early 2019 mock draft

Interesting.....a RT at #1. I guess it would depend on where we select, however; the Bills drafting OL in rounds one and two would make me one happy S.O.B.!!!!! -
Why is nobody discussing the offensive line?

Thank you so much for the above. Sadly, it is nothing short of the truth. -
I wish that Dawkins was our biggest problem. He had an off night yesterday but he is really better than I thought he would be coming out of college, and I liked him then. I don't know if I believe his listed weight (320), whereas he looks lighter than that to me. Maybe this is why he didn't go in round 1. Do LTs have to be gigantic like Jumbo Elliot and Orlando Pace these days? Maybe not but that is another topic. I think that Dawkins has great footwork and extends his arms well. If he keeps improving he will be one of the best draft picks by the Bills in quite some time (imo). I'm not concerned with him at all. The bad news is the rest of the OL. The old time fans on this board have been through this year after year. Ducasse is going to get someone seriously hurt. Miller gets some love on TSW. I however think that he is average at best. Mills? Please. I am fully aware of how much the game has changed. That said, we are a cold weather team that plays in a windy stadium. The Buffalo Bills need a strong OL. Incog was/is a nutcase but he attacked his opponents. A man who knows a bit more about the "process" than our coach said that in order to win, you must impose your will on your opponent, and this is part of said process. Our OL looks horrid. Do you see them imposing their will? if things don't change, we are in for a very long, dismal season. Anyway, the good news is that Dawkins can play quite well and he will be just fine imo. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) University of Alabama Crimson Tide 2) Clemson 3) Washington (great coach and easy conference) 4) Georgia I left the Big 10 out because imo they will wear each other down. Lots of talent up there. I didn't see your post before I sent mine in. I didn't think anyone else would give Washington much of a chance.

Patriots rookie OL Isaiah Wynn suffers torn Achilles

The kid is a very good player. I feel sorry for him. Is this the injury that ruined Bryce Paup's career? -
Do you trust the process?
Bill from NYC replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trust it in terms of what? This seasons w/l record? Long term success? Now, is McDermott going to be better than Rex? Absolutely but that is a low bar indeed. Also, if you have to shamelessly copy another coach, it might as well be Nick Saban. I would say that McDermott has a pretty decent shot at success based on this alone.
