  1. This National Champion Alabama Team had no less than 12 players drafted, and this does of course not count our 2 (and I don't know how many other) udfas. I'm unsure if this has ever happened before. I am NOT making a statement that the Crimson Tide will win #18 in 2018. They need to stay healthy, etc. I do however think that the Tide offense will be better this year at every positional group. Maybe a lot better. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. How about 2 udfas from the Crimson Tide who just celebrated their 17th National Championship!!!
  3. That Sir, is quite the original screen name. Coupled with the avatar, it is top 20 imo. Yes and they are used to hard work and tough practices. Some will disappoint but a majority are solid.
  4. Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron!
  5. Levi Wallace was an actual walk on. That's right. a walk on at the University of Alabama who made the team. I am not saying that the kid has Minkah Fitzpatrick type talent. He does not. But, he works his ass off and I have seen him make some clutch plays for the Tide. Now, I am not qualified (nor do I focus on defensive backs enough) to predict how well he makes the transition to the NFL. What I do know is that Saban loves him (btw Saban started as a defensive backs coach) and Calvin Ridley praises him. The following link is a nice read. A qb? A pass rusher and a DT? Late round and a UFA defensive backs? I don't know how it will turn out, but this is my favorite draft in 20 years or so. http://www.espn.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/130603/how-levi-wallace-went-from-a-walk-on-to-a-star-at-alabama
  6. 9 hours have passed. Are you ok yet?
  7. Yes, he will certainly have to put forth a great deal of effort AND stay healthy. And while I am not claiming that he is great, he did make some clutch receptions for the Tide and again, not a huge amount of chances. I like the fact that Coach Daboll more than likely had some serious input; and, I think Bills Fans will like Coach Daboll as well. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly ABF, I think he prefers passing over the media.
  8. Did you watch the Crimson Tide much this season, or only the championship game? Foster is a speedster who was playing for a quarterback (Hurts) who isn't the greatest passer. He was also surrounded by great receivers including Calvin Ridley, 3 freshman (1 you might remember), and others. There are only so many chances. Now, throw in the fact that although he does adapt and change with the times, Coach Saban, deep down, would rather unleash his running attack on opponents than pass. I think that Foster will make the team. If nothing else, the kid will provide a deep threat. Imo, this signing is something to be happy about. Why such a huge longshot? Are the Bills simply stacked at wideout?
  9. Well, I'm going to give my obligatory shout-out to Bradley Bozeman - C - Alabama. He wasn't invited to the combines due to concerns about his athleticism but he lost some weight for his workout day in Tuscaloosa. Saban really likes the kid and he played at Guard for a couple of years. I also like that he was voted team captain. The Bills might be able to grab him in a late round and I hope they do. The kid is very smart and he is a winner. https://247sports.com/college/alabama/Article/Bradley-Bozeman-goes-through-Alabama-Pro-Day-at-a-new-low-weight-and-giving-his-best-effort-115943719 PS: Of course, I don't want anyone to think that I am partial to National Champion Crimson Tide players.
  10. I believe in credit where its due. I often disagree with Promo but he nailed it this time. Brandon, Levy, Whaley, and Nix were horrid; even TD was a disgrace on The Bills. These folks seem to be different. They had a plan and executed it and the plan makes sense. Joe, I would rather take a risk on a qb than lose with another 1st round DB, even if it was Minkah!
  11. This is probably your best post ever on TSW.
  12. He truly does deserve a chance. The kid seems happy to be in Buffalo. Remember when Gilmore was drafted? I blasted that pick as well and most posters were thrilled by the pick. Yet when the selection was announced, the only person sadder than me was Stephon Gilmore. He was going to be the "shut down corner," no? Meanwhile he was quite average and his effort was well below average. We missed with player after player in round 1 and neglected the most important positions. Now I think it is time to cheer on our new young quarterback!
  13. Well you see omf, I was one to complain for many, many years. For example, when Whaley gave away the store for Watkins, I blasted the move from day 1 (and still do). People said I was wrong because he was "good." Tell me. what "good" was he for the Bills, a team with huge QB problems? Now, we went after a big strong QB who might also be good. I would much rather miss with a qb than waste another prime pick on a db or rb.
  14. I have been on this wonderful board for many, many years. Now, I am reading these posts that are absolutely hating the Allen pick and it is hard to understand why. Almost every season, I was on this board blasting yet another idiotic first round pick by the Bills. For instance: A #8 (in a stacked draft) on an undersized Donte Whitner? How about a 1st on a half dead Willis McGahee? In 2008 we had a very poor OL. It was awful. We drafted Leotis McKelvin, passing up both Ryan Clady and Branden Albert. I could go on and on but my point is that fans were generally supportive of these clearly stupid picks. Now, we finally use resources on a big, strong quarterback and most people seem to hate the kid. Why? Because he said stupid things when he was a toddler? Because he went to a small school? After what seemed like forever, we took a chance on solidifying the most important position on the field. We moved up to make sure we landed a qb with a cannon arm. What is SO freaking bad? I for one am glad that we did something smart (for a change) in round 1, and welcome this young man to Buffalo. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Well, there have been plenty of episodes but as I said, I have calmed down. But Tom, a DB in this draft will likely elicit a temper tantrum, and why not? We need a quarterback and if we are dumb enough to pass on one, how about a freaking blocker or 2? The lack of quarterbacks and blockers have destroyed the Bills for 20 or so years. Wasting 1st round picks on defensive backs and running backs is what caused our team to be a dismal failure; in other words, suck. What always stuns me is how any sane Bills Fan can dispute this.
  16. Yeah well Pat Kirwin, in his final mock draft, predicted that the Bills would draft a safety at #12 and it wasn't even Minkah Fitzpatrick. I get about 10-25% as upset as I used to; but, if the Bills draft a defensive back or a running back at #12 my head will likely explode.
  17. I wasn't going to go there but it appears that tenses in general are a huge issue. Is that you Coach Saban?
  18. Being a Bills Fan is a good reason to scorn the draft. Year after year we turn our backs on qbs and blockers in order to draft running backs and defensive backs. I mean who needs Deshaun Watson when there are corners out there? Maybe this will be the season where the stupidity ends. We can only hope.
  19. John is a great guy and I think he was going to kick "Combo's" ass. I actually went with him to other pages to see his work. He used to torture vegetarians. He's a superstar!
  20. Nothing ever posted in 2 decades of TDB was as funny as the work of Hogboy. All of his threads were absolutely hysterical. The man, in a moments notice, could adopt dozens of different personalities. Remember him as "Miami Don Johnson?" He would claim to be sipping a pina colada on the beach while Bills Fans are shoveling 2 feet of snow. He once brought in his son for help on a thread. He would purposely misspell words to anger others and get them to call him stupid, etc. He used to go on law enforcement sites and call correction officers "jail guards" (he was once a corrections officer) and referred to volunteer firemen as arsonists who derived sexual pleasure from starting fires (quoting nutty, made up stats). Now he is on Facebook and he tortures both Trump and Hillary supporters. He has better trolling luck with the Trump people, whereas most Hillary supporters will just claim that she is not relevant and dismiss her corruption. Hogboy is the Babe Ruth of trolls!!!
  21. Guard? The last first round Guard we drafted was in 1995. The Bills draft 1st round defensive backs and running backs, not guards. Tua looks as if he will be not good but great. Still, waiting for him is not the answer. Even if he turns out to be all world there is no guarantee that they will be in a position to draft him. It would be a dream come true for me but the odds of Tua in Buffalo are slim at best and we MUST go and get a qb in this draft. When I read this I wondered, "why such a nasty remark from such a good poster?" Then I read your location. It's all cool.
  22. I think that Gettleman meant was that it takes 5 years to recover from NOT drafting a very good quarterback when you have the opportunity to select one. For instance, the Bills passed on Mahomes last season and chose to draft a corner. I am not claiming to know if Mahomes is any good but if he is, the Bills will be set back no matter how good the corner turns out to be. I am not a Giant Fan. Never was; but, I think that Gettleman is going to be a fine GM. And I don't think he will pass on drafting a qb.
  23. That is a nice mock. I heard someone on Sirius predict that we would trade down to 9 with the 49ers. I do however think that the Giants will draft a qb. Gettlleman is a very interesting guy and is on Sirius quite often. He says that missing on a qb is a "5 year mistake." It made me think how a vast majority of our Bills 1st round picks were 5 year mistakes lol. Donte Whitner anyone? I really do not think that our current leadership is this stupid; good news indeed!
  24. No prob., let him rest.
  25. Mine would resemble yours except that I would place CB at #7 just above MLB.
