Gaines released....Wallace promoted
Bill from NYC replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am thrilled to see this young man get a chance to play. He was an actual walk on.....at Alabama which is all but impossible. THAT is how hard he works. I don't know how his skills will translate to the NFL but he contributed to a national champion winning team and was very clutch. Calvin Ridley even spoke highly of him. I hope he kicks ass!!! -
John Wawrow on the QB situation
Bill from NYC replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know that they are heavily tied into the qb position, but I want to toss piss poor drafts into the equation. For decades they have been passing on good to even great players at positions of need and drafting secondary and running backs, many of whom were too small and/or injured. -

Same here. I was Watson all the way. -
How many games do you think these unpaid college students should have to play in a season? 16? 20? Every extra game gives many of them just that much more risk of losing millions in the NFL. I think that even without expansion, conference title games should be eliminated. The team that wins the title this season will have played 15 games, which imo is too many. And what would be the justification? Allowing mediocre at best teams a chance to be in a playoff? Sorry, I think that expansion might be a bad idea.

I can't agree with this 100%. If the bpa happens to be in the secondary, I would pass. Allen is young and needs tools and big time protection. I would, for this particular team, even draft a freaking RB before another corner. We both know who they passed on and took a corner 2 years ago. Imho, the team will have the cap space and the picks to right the ship. They also have demonstrated the capability of screwing things up. I am hoping for a trade down and 2 seasons of multiple picks to increase the odds of good things happening.

Any objective fan could see that the above is 100% true. In fact, I think you might have been a bit too easy on Ivory. If he continues to play, do you really think that there will be much left of him next year? The cap space and especially the draft picks will help quite a bit, but imo they will need 2 years to contend. This team is as bad as one can imagine on offense, and some of our best defenders are old. I think the team can be turned around, but not in 1 season. Not when a team is THIS bad.

Anything can happen. It would be very cool to see The Tide vs. The Irish.

Why did Rex only get 2 years?

Rex drafted Shaq, no? -
Why did Rex only get 2 years?
Bill from NYC replied to RosenNOTchosen1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills defense was strong with Schwartz and even Petit. Rex came in and ruined it and the entire team, with help of course from his inept brother. Actually, Gilmore and Rex deserved each other imo. They were both lazy and content to cash their huge, undeserved checks at the expense of Bills Fans, and the people who wrote said checks. -

He did seem to, I agree. Perhaps he didn't like playing cornerback whereas Rex kept sending him back in coverage. -
2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
First round dbs are fine......as long as the team has a quarterback, a rock solid offensive line, pass rush, a strong DT rotation, and last but not least......a talented, fast receiving corps with players that are hard to cover. With any luck, the Bills might be able to fill these needs by 2030. Then I say go for it! -
I suppose he does but he too was absolutely terrible. EJ on occasion looked like a QB, but it was a mirage. That said, why do you think that no team has offered him a job even at the league minimum? This question is not rhetorical. Is EJ worse than every QB on every roster? He never seemed like a bad guy.

Everyone that wanted TT gone, we told you
Bill from NYC replied to Dadonkadonk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The point I often tried to make (and was shot down) was that Tyrod made the OL look better than they really were. Then of course we lost Incog and Wood and the bottom completely fell out. Couple that with lousy receivers and what a surprise, our rookie QB is injured. Not bad enough? Lets give a functional McCarron the boot and keep Peterman. But just in case, lets bring in an 80 year old qb who never was any good and put him behind center there with no blocking and no tools. Sounds about right, no? Yep, this is the 2018 Bills. If I said it once I've said it 1,000 times: Bills Fans are the best fans of any team in any sport. Who else would put up with this? -
The outside pass rush from both Jennings and Miller was the best we have seen this season. Also, everyone in the secondary had a great game. The running game really impressed me this week. Did you see Najee Harris? He was on fire! Sucks that he hurt his ankle but supposedly it isn't so bad.

Or a certain team which is not in a conference?
-
Perhaps but if that happens, fans of lesser teams will scream until there are 64 playoff spots. If they do expand the playoffs (and I am unsure where I stand on this), they really need to do away with conference championships. Jmo.
