Transfer Portal: Welcome to CFB free agency

How so? I am not arguing but I don't think I understand. -
Ted Washington not impressed with Bills DL

That is pretty amazing because once we sat behind the Bills bench in the 2nd row, and Pat Williams was bigger than Big Sam Adams. -
I am hoping for wide receivers. We could realistically lose 2 great ones, perhaps 3 after 2019. And as you may have guessed, I am always wanting blockers, DL, and 3/4 olbs.

This is a VERY important class for Alabama because they will be losing a slew of great players after 2019.

I remember when Parcells paid Center Kevin Mawae HUGE bucks and said that the contract was because of Ted Washington. -

The above is true but what we are also seeing is many Alabama players (Foster for one) are coming into the league with fresh legs. Look at Da'Shaun Hand on the Lions. He was one of the top recruits in the entire country but couldn't see the field much because of Jonathan Allen. Even Kenyan Drake wasn't really a starter and look at what he is doing. There are other examples. Wait until 2020 when at least 3 receivers will be draft eligible and all of them are great!!! QBs don't really need to come from big programs these days Yolo. Our own QB is from Wyoming, and the kid from Clemson chose Missouri (where he is replacing a pretty good QB). I even liked what I saw from the kid at Duke. It seems to me that QBs can pick and choose their schools without it making a huge difference these days. -
2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
Not as many as last year. Don't forget they had 16 players drafted and 4 udfas signed last year. The players that the other poster listed are 2 that I will be keeping a sharp eye on. Jacobs is essentially a 3rd string RB but he is behind Damien Harris and Najee Harris (true soph). Lately he has seen more action. He is only 5'10" but he doesn't care; he is a gamer and fights for every yard. He is listed at 216 but I absolutely don't believe it. I would say he is closer to 205. Imo he will be a great target out of the backfield. He is more quick than fast but he has pro skills. Will he be there in round 4? I say probably. Isiah Buggs plays end in Saban's 3/4. I see him as a DT in the NFL. He isn't a speedster but he pushes through the line and has tackles for a loss, and even sack. He is extremely hard to push backwards, is said to be a very hard worker and a team leader. He doesn't have the flash of a Jonathan Allen so he won't go as soon but with Kyle aging, I really would love to see him on the Bills. Btw John, player after player from the Tide is tearing up the NFL this year in addition to our 2 steals. Last week, 2 safeties (Jackson and Fitzpatrick) had game saving interceptions. Jonathan Allen and Payne are kicking ass, as is Drake on Miami. And what about Derrick Henry? I think the has over 430 yards and 6 tds.....in the last 2 games. I guess the nonsense about Tide players being system players instead of stars can be put to rest, no? -

I fear that it might get worse. There is nothing to stop a perfectly healthy play from not playing. Stars such as Bosa would be drafted even if they get hurt (of course not as high). If a player scheduled to go in the 3rd or 4th rounds suffers an injury, they might miss out on getting drafted at all. This is bad for fans like us but I can't say I blame them. -

Do you consider him to be as good as Montez Sweat? I don't consider myself an expert but I saw Sweat play a few times this year and imo he has the potential to be a great player. -

John I cannot disagree with you about the transfers or the bowl games. That said, is it just a matter of time before they skip out on playoff games? Obviously I voice this concern for selfish reasons but imo it is a legit question, and I don't have answers to solve this soon to be problem. -
Bills fall from 6th to 10th in Draft Order
Bill from NYC replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Whoa!!! Nice work!!!!! I find the Colts 2018 pick quite interesting. Guards almost never go early but when they do I feel like there is a very high success rate. Now, Luck isn't getting beaten to within an inch of his life on every play and the Colts are playing much better. Once again, I am beating the drum for the Bills to draft blockers. There are some players that I really like too, such as Sweat from Miss. State but the Bills have neglected the OL for far too long. -
You are correct. It was a totally different offense. You always knew Foster had talent (and especially speed) but Ridley wasn't going to come out. And, look at the running backs and even TEs on that team. There just were not many chances for Foster. Hurts also ran much of the time and you know that Saban, although he has adapted, prefers a running game and a mistake free offense.

I don't have time to look it up right now but I recall a trade down involving Julio Jones. I'm sure there are more examples but they are generally not blockbuster deals. Edit: There were a few last year that didn't involve qbs, to include our own Edmunds. -
Once again we really need a TE
Bill from NYC replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah he is also a strong runner after the catch. He is another players who I would be interested in his combine numbers. Metz was great blocker. It was almost like having another Left Tackle on the field. He was also a great target in the end zone. -

That my friend would be one EXCELLENT 4th round for the Buffalo Bills football team!!! -
I'm not so sure. Lets ask BADOLBILZ what he thinks. Oh wait, he told us long ago and was shouted down!!!

What’s your definition of an alcoholic?
Bill from NYC replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall Archives
A friend of mine who went and still goes to AA told me that when one stops using alcohol, they must than deal with what he called the "ism." He implied that a personality defect caused the alcoholism. Please don't attack me for saying this whereas I don't know if it is true. I am just repeating what I was told by a person who I respect. -
OK, lets chop that down to once.
-
C'mon Yolo, seriously? I would rather the Tide played twice there than once against LSU at Tiger Stadium!!!
-
The teams in the finals would have 16 game seasons. Pros played only 14 for many years. That 1 extra game could destroy a multi-million dollar career for a student athlete, many of whom come from impoverished backgrounds. It isn't fair imo. I even think that the conference championship games are b%%^&$@#.

This would be too many games for these kids imo.

Take Your Pick - 2019 FA Wish List !!

From having watched him for many years I can tell you that TJ Yeldon has great hands out of the backfield and would be an excellent weapon for Josh. As a runner he has some speed and he is not easy to bring down. He has had his share of injuries and I wouldn't break the bank for him, but I think that he would be an asset to the Bills.
