  1. Actually, if this post was "worst other than Peterman" it would have been an interesting thread. Plenty of room for discussion ………
  2. Imo Riemsmera was a possession type TE with bad hands. Every now and then he would make a great catch, maybe 2 or 3 times a year so he had people fooled, but; I can remember being at RWS and watching him drop pass after pass. Oh, and he couldn't block to save his life. I think that he was easily one of the most overrated players the Bills ever had. It was like we were just pretending he was good. I liked Metz. He was great in the end zone because he was so wide. Kelly would throw darts at the middle of his body. And, he blocked like an OT.
  3. It has to do with the people in the thread and the ability to have good dialogue, as well as moderators who do all the work. I like threads where people state their opinions AND ask questions. I never thought this board would be any good if we all agreed on every single issue.
  4. Norwell got a sweet contract too! I wonder if Yolo or someone else can tell us how a player this good from Ohio State did not get drafted. Btw, threads like this are one of the things that make this board stand out as just so superior to other boards.
  5. Look, I know I am a broken record with Alabama players. I am sorry too, but these are the only kids I see play every game. I think that DJ Fluker is a UFA. He was ranked high and drafted early when he came out. He was a right tackle in college but due to his height he was more suited to play guard in the NFL. He has been hurt quite a bit but he is a physical beast. DJ is probably one of the strongest players in the NFL. Opponents feared him in college. I'm under the impression that he had a decent year for the Seahawks and is now a UFA. The Bills could probably sign him for less than a fortune. If Fluker is healthy, Bills Fans would love to watch him play. When healthy he really can overpower defensive linemen.
  6. Would you view Jonah Williams as a bad first round pick even if he turned out to be an all pro left guard? I agree with the bolded but I have mixed emotions wrt Williams. More pressure seems to be coming up the middle these days and imo, the guard position is getting harder to play and of more value as a result. The OT position is obviously harder to fill, but guards have to make quicker decisions (or so it would seem) and Williams is a very smart kid. Williams might turn out to be a fine LT. The combines should tell us more but he looks to me as if he would be an absolute instant star at LG. Of course, the above is jmo.
  7. >>>>>The two hardest positions to fill in free agency are WR and pass rushing.<<<<<
  8. I think that you omitted left tackle.
  9. That's for sure but ya gotta start somewhere.
  10. I don't think that he was calling us idiots. Different people cope in different ways in terms of being a Bills Fan which is a great, however unusual thing to be.
  11. You may not like this either e-man....... I happen to think that Beane did very well wrt this trade. I think that Whaley either got hosed in virtually every deal he made, or it was ill advised. I already place Beane in a higher category that Donahoe, Whaley, Nix, or Levy. That said, I must agree with BV that the McBeane combo has much more to prove. I could be wrong but I believe that the 2019 draft will tell us what we need to know about them. We will find out soon enough.
  12. He was. I remember when he completely took over a game and demolished the Redskins.
  13. Is Tyrod actually available? If so they should grab him. Their defense will be able to keep them in some games.
  14. Yeah, who needs Julio Jones!
  15. Aren't the Redskins in desperate need of a quarterback?
  16. What a shame because he had every bit of strength and talent that he needed to be great.
  17. The Bills desperately need to draft blockers. Imo it is not wise to rely on free agency to build an offensive line. In the last several decades, how many great left tackles were acquired from another team (of course one was Jason Peters who we traded). This draft appears to be a fairly good one for blockers and we finally have a good young quarterback to protect. I want the team to use their top resources on keeping their quarterback healthy and improving the running attack as well. If they go up to the podium and grab Greedy Williams or some other defensive back, we are looking at another Levy/Jauron situation. Jmo.
  18. Interesting......I took a very quick look and decided to rate the 19 1st round picks we had from 2000 until present. I came up with this in terms of rating players: Excellent: 2 Good: 9 So-So: 2 Poor: 6 Of course these ratings are very subjective. At face value it would seem that they weren't so bad but imo they were just horrible. Most of these "good" players did not help the Bills win football games. Imo, Josh Allen was their best draft selection of the century even if he doesn't develop as much as we want him to. This is how to build a team. Now, if only we can get him some blockers and some weapons we will have a shot. Before drafting Josh we were a dog chasing its tail.
  19. Williams has perfect feet and technique. He can roll out and pull very well. In his first year he played RT and was great on running downs in a completely different offense. He is also a very smart kid. Is he big and strong enough to be a star NFL LT? I am not sure yet. His combine numbers will be telling. Even without seeing his combine stats, I predict that his floor will be that of a better Andy Levitre, who also played LT in college and imo was a terrific player for a while. I think that Williams would be a pro bowl level guard, but what do I know?
  20. Dawkins is good but you are totally correct. He is not on the same planet with Jason Peters. Imo the most interesting (not the best) player in this draft is Jonah Williams who might be similar in some ways to Dawkins. I will get into this more as the draft approaches.
  21. They fit well in bathroom garbage pails.
  22. I agree, depending on where the fastball was going to hit me.
  23. So does standing there when Verlander is hurling a hard object at you at 101 miles per hour.
  24. He might be but either way he will make a rich owner even more rich. He is going to pack the house, refreshment stands, parking lots, souvenir stands, etc. There will T-Shirts and jerseys galore that say "Murray" on the back. Pure profit. He will be a cash cow for one lucky owner.
  25. You do however have to be able to hit major league pitching which imo is the hardest thing to do in any sport.
