  1. Quinnen is a very good player. Make no mistake, he was the best Alabama defensive lineman last year. The thing is, he only started for 1 season. He needs more work but he will do it because he, from all accounts, is a great kid. Unlike most, I didn't think that he would go in the top 5. I thought that he would be there at 9 for us. There are different ways of looking at the DT situation.....We could say that Quinnen benefitted greatly from playing at Alabama. We could also allege that Oliver benefitted from playing against weak sisters compared to Alabama's opponents. Probably some of both is true. I hope that Williams has a great career and wins games against the Pats, and that our draftees (especially Cody Ford) are pro bowlers.
  2. I think that as time passes, we will see that the 2019 draft class was not a good one. 2020 is going to make this draft look piss poor. Jmo.
  3. The Panthers got OLB Christian Miller with the 13th pick in round 4. I have a hunch that they will be very happy when they see him pressure and sack quarterbacks. How rich is the Cardinal owner? Does he need the several million dollars he will make on Murray before the season even starts?
  4. Very hard to evaluate this kid. He played behind 4 actually great wide receivers and a very good tight end. He looks good but I am guessing that he was hardly covered. Nothing to lose by bringing him in. If Daboll likes him lets do it!!!
  5. But not re-signed to a contract, correct?
  6. I could very well be wrong but I do not think we re-signed Clements. Wasn't he franchised for 1 year?
  7. I saw a very recent video in which Ruggs and Waddle raced a 40 yard dash. Ruggs won by less than a foot.
  8. Bandit, there are 3 that can come out.....Jeudy (perhaps a top 5 pick), Ruggs (4.25 40 dash time, and actually blocks) and Devonta Smith (a can't miss prospect with great moves, acrobatic, and glue hands). These kids are all sensational. Btw, they also have a great soph playing next year - Jaylen Waddle.
  9. The above is SO accurate!!! I am going to go out on a limb and predict that the 2019 draft actually sucks compared to the one we will see in 2020. I know this is may sound a bit over the top but I am serious. And I do agree that this is certainly a pivotal year for Josh. That said, if these kids stay healthy the 2020 draft will be one of the best drafts EVER at the WR position.
  10. As you well recall, I know the feeling. When the Bills didn't seek to re-sign Levitre, he was a top LG, well suited for the new NFL passing league. To be honest, he wasn't the same after he left; I always suspected injuries to be the reason. The thing I like about Ford is the power, determination, and stamina that he displayed against the Crimson Tide. I was keying on him the entire game, complete with rewinds and the kid only had 1 play which in which I considered him to be getting beat. This play happened towards the end of then game. For decades, I have wanted the Bills to be a tough team. I want other teams to come up to Orchard Park and get beat physically. I was right there with you at Ralph Wilson Stadium watching weaklings like Terrance Pennington and Demetrus Bell play for the Bills. It was not only a disgrace, it was torture imo lol. These were weak players by NFL, or even SEC standards. If we miss on Ford, at least we will be missing with a big badass who held up well against the Crimson Tide and not a Leotis McKelvin or Donte Whitner. For the record: the few times I have disagreed with you about the Bills over 20 or so years, I have been wrong every time I can remember. I hope this time breaks the trend.
  11. Based only on this 1 game, Ford appeared to be more powerful than Dawkins, and less agile. I didn't understand the bench numbers at the combine. Mike Williams more than doubled his reps as I recall but this kid looked unusually strong on the field.
  12. Do you think it is possible that guards will become more important as more pass rush comes from DTs up the middle?
  13. Yeah, that was Raekwon Davis and it was late in the game. It was debatable whether or not Murray's knee hit but Ford did get fooled and beat on the play. On the sack by Jennings he didn't get beat, He broke away from the blocked and took down Murray with one hand. It wasn't Ford's fault.
  14. He looked so good against the Tide that I almost don't care if they put him at guard. If that is where he will be at his best I'm all for it. This kid really seems like a very tough guy and he didn't seem to get tired. He even pulled on a couple of plays.
  15. When we drafted Cody Ford I was elated. This team needed more blocking despite the UFA signings. Being a skeptic, I still had some fears because of the possible "Mike Williams Syndrome." I was afraid that he might be a big monster in a defensively weak conference. So, I watched my recording of the Orange Bowl (Oklahoma vs, Alabama) and focused on Ford for the entire game. Let me tell you, those fears have been extinguished. Ford played primarily against Anfernee Jennings, a pass rushing "tweener." If he stays healthy he will be a first round pick in 2020. He also lined up a lot against 6'7"/317 Raekwon Davis, another star player. Jennings did have 1 sack. Ford had him blocked and when Murray took off and ran, Jennings took him down from behind with 1 hand. This was NOT on Ford, who had Jennings under control for most of the game. Jennings also blocked a pass, but this will happen to Murray because of his height. Again, no big deal. He went up against 2 subs, Labryan Ray and Johnny Dwight, both very good players. He completely neutralized Ray, and pancaked Dwight (listed at 301 pounds)!!! He did give up a sack to Davis late in the game but he was doing a great job containing him on almost every play. Ford is a badass, who plays to the whistle. Please keep in mind that Bama was up 28-7 at the half. They knew damn well that Murray was going to throw which gave them an obvious edge. They didn't blitz that often because of how well Murray runs but still, Ford not only held up, he was (imo) just short of dominant playing at a disadvantage (the score), and against great competition. In summary, I am happier about this OL draft pick than I have been about any since they took Reuben Brown! This guy is as strong as an ox and fearless. He would have been totally worth a 1st round pick from what I saw. He is going to protect our QB and open holes for our RBs. I'm loving it!!!!! GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks to the OP for a well researched post. I know that he might not fit in our defense, but Christian Miller is a fine pass rusher. He is a classic "tweener," and a team is about to get very lucky when they draft him. He is a very intelligent kid and has great moves. There are quite a few videos of him on you tube. It have no idea why he wasn't drafted yet.
  17. I am thrilled by this pick. He looked great on the tape they showed. I have the Alabama game on tape so I can and will watch it and focus on him on every play. This was a very smart move imo!!!
  18. I am about trading down and getting a 1st rounder for 2020. Do you think that we could trade down and still get him 10 or so spots later?
  19. He sure is saying some positive things! I sure hope he works out for us. We definitely deserve it.
  20. I wish that there was some way to trade down and obtain some picks for 2020.
  21. Yes CT but he wasn't talking about that. I brought this up to my gf this morning who is a Giant Fan. I was ONLY responding to e man about the Jones pick. If you think a guy is THE QB you want, draft him. Imo we have all seen worse picks.
  22. Good stats no doubt!!! I hope it works!!!!!
