Me too! Who needs a quarterback when you can grab a top 10 defensive back? -
I did but he seems to have too many other issues surrounding him. Did you see the way he acted on Hard Knocks? I couldn't stand to be around that guy for 15 minutes.

I'm not sure but I heard that a player named Tua is also pretty good.

Well, his description of Jonah Williams does echo mine. As well has he has played in his entire career at Alabama, I am not sure if he is big enough to play LT in the NFL. He very well might be and again, he is good at every facet of OL play. I want to see his combine numbers, especially with the 225. I will speculate that if he is placed at LG, he will be an immediate impact player, perhaps a star. Jmo.

Is DT Gerald McCoy done in Tampa?
Bill from NYC replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fully agree but I will add that now it is time to protect him. The Bills prior GMs also did not devote ample resources to blocking. -
He gets open, and imo his hands are not bad. His brother Calvin was one of the hardest workers Alabama had according to Coach Saban. Maybe Riley is too, I don't know. Lets wait and see how he does in the combines.

Barnwell has Bills at 6 wins in 2019

In this case it actually might be. I am thinking that it would be hard indeed for a street free agent to be worse than Benjamin. -

You make several valid points in this post. Imo, the Bills will not be able to get to the playoffs without a drastic improvement in the offensive line. If Josh has to keep running at the rate he did last season, he is eventually going to get seriously injured. He needs more protection and even a better running game to perform to the level of his capabilities, which I think are huge. Call me crazy but imo once the OL is fixed, and I do mean fixed (not slightly improved), other units will get better right along with them. -

That would be wonderful but you do make it sound just a bit too simple. -

At the rate things are going the PAC 10 will be decimated. I just don't think they can compete the way they used to for various reasons. -
The suggestion of 2nd or 3rd round pick was more of a compliment than an insult in this passing league. Like any other back, Josh would stand out on a team with a good qb and a solid OL. Some of those holes he ran through at Alabama were pretty big. Still, he is a true all purpose back and plays a very smart game. He can do everything including block. Btw, I'm not 100% sure that the 216 lbs. they list him at is accurate. That seems high to me but he is a fighter and plays hard on every down. I really like Josh but not at #9.

If you saw my post in this thread I am totally against using a #9 on Jacobs, and I am a HUGE Crimson Tide Fan and really like the kid. I see your point wrt the Spiller comparison, I really do, but; I would take Jacobs over Spiller ANY day!!! Even for the Bills, the Spiller pick was so stupid that it was mind boggling. As for Jacobs, imo he is a 2nd or 3rd round pick. He is a much better and stronger player than Spiller ever was.

Folks, a little perspective here..... Are all of you aware that Josh was never established as the starting running back at Alabama? He was never the strongest running back on the Tide and while he is quick, he isn't a speed back. Josh is very good and quite versatile. He has great hands, blocks well, and is a smart kid and a smart player. Saban loves the kid. That said, I am not even sure if he will be better than Damien Harris. He can be if he continues to improve and his first step is a bit quicker, but Damien reminds me a bit of Thurman in terms of seeing holes to run through. He is no slouch. As a life long Alabama Fan, I would welcome Josh to the team. He had an extremely tough life but seems to maintain a great, positive attitude. I have no doubt that he would be quite useful to Allen, but; I don't think that the Bills should use a #9 on him. Disclaimer: I am not pretending to be a scout. I am just a fan who has seen every Alabama game for many years.

Was he #6?

Football insurers continue to get out of the market...
Bill from NYC replied to row_33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe, but it will take some time. Kids with money usually don't want to play football or go into boxing, and who can blame them? Would you, with a pocket full of money, want to get hit by Khalil Mack, or punched by a young Mike Tyson? I certainly would not. I think it is impressive that the other 11 schools could field teams. Games like the ones yesterday are good for the sport. The owners are guaranteed profits like no other business that I have ever heard about. It is hard for me to imagine them letting this slip away but who knows? -
The GAME when you knew the Bills HC wasn't the guy!
Bill from NYC replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I knew that Jauron was a complete horror show before he ever coached a game. The 2006 draft was just so bad that it crippled the team for many years. Having said that, didn't he once try a million yard field goal that they had no chance at all of making? It might even have been in bad weather conditions. For some reason this this comes to mind but there is no solid memory. The Levy/Jauron years were just unthinkably awful. -

What about MMA? How can this even exist? In 10 years there is going to be an entire species of dangerous, brain damaged people from taking elbows to the head, and everything else they do.
