2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
I might agree if we were not going to lose KW. Lawrence is better at clogging up the middle no doubt. Quinnen gets through in a hurry and kicks ass. They are both excellent. -
2019 NFL Draft: Bills officially picking 9th
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What makes you say that? Spiller was good in space, remember? -
OK, sorry. I was really hoping for much more from Notre Dame. I wonder how they look for next year.
-
Indeed!!!!!!! Do you think Notre Dame is a better team?
-
Again, they are extremely talented but untested imo. They coast through the seasons and almost never play against a good team. Didn't they play Pittsburgh in their conference championship game?
-
The above is an accurate description of the game but not unusual. Alabama has as many weapons as any team I have ever seen. And Coach Saban is always happy to run the football. Their defense is good, but NOT one of the better Alabama defensive units, not even close. The Clemson QB is great, but he is a freshman. We shall see. Clemson really is very talented Rico but who have they played that is any good?
-
Oklahoma was not a crap team. Not at all. Notre Dame? They didn't even remotely compare to Georgia but they were undefeated. The two best teams will play for the title. The difference between the 2 is that Clemson..... IMO.....has not played a high quality team in the regular season or the playoffs. Not yet, ya know? ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kyle Williams: Officially Retires
Bill from NYC replied to Clemfield2622's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt it. Not if someone wants to have an intellectual discussion about football. -
This is the play I spoke of earlier. Kyle pushed Manziel to the ground when imo he could have easily hospitalized him if he chose to. I am really going to miss this guy that I have been watching since 2006. I didn't immediately warm to him but he soon won me over with his grit, and more than that with his skills. I am glad that he is quitting while he is in good health. Thanks Kyle! You are the man!!!!!

Kyle Williams: Officially Retires

I remember a play where he sacked Manziel. He had a clean shot at him and might have killed him if he really wanted to hurt him. He did not. Kyle was a complete gentleman. -
Week 17 -- rooting for a win or loss?
Bill from NYC replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, thanks for this chart!!! I'm sorry, this Buffalo Bills team has no business drafting 12th. I mean none at all. They are WAY worse than that and our ability to trade down would be severely impacted. I must admit, 4 sounds great. -
2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects

Good point. Quinnen Williams is a DT with crazy moves. There are bigger, stronger DTs (I didn't know that he was originally a DE), but he uses unusual agility for a player that big to penetrate. Jonah Williams called him a 300 lb. bar of soap. It doesn't puzzle me that he sat behind Allen and Hand but I do wonder why he didn't see more snaps last season. It will be interesting to watch him in the NFL. I view him as a Kyle Williams type, not a nose. -

That was just incredible. I did not know that story and it makes me that much more proud of the kid. Some NFL team is going to be very happy that they drafted him. -
Wouldn't this leave 5 teams in the second round?

EJ Manuel: What went wrong after year 1?
Bill from NYC replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After we drafted EJ I watched clips of him at FSU and he seemed to be agile, and a fast runner. When he got to Buffalo he looked as if he was running in sand. I never understood that. -
I don't believe in the 3 year plan happening in '19
Bill from NYC replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please, don't apologize for nitpicking. I appreciate it, and have been on this board for more than 20 years to discuss the Bills. Actually, Miller was drafted in 2015, so that would really be 4 years. To go a step further, in 2014 the Bills actually drafted 3 blockers. The problem was that they all sucked. I get teased all the time about my preference for Alabama players and I deserve it. The thing is, I watch all of their games and have for years. I posted on TSW that Cyrus Kouandjio was a terrible pick. It hurt me to do so because he was a great kid at Alabama but he was the 4th or perhaps even 5th best blocker on that Alabama team, and this was well before his incident. John C will vouch for me if he sees this post. He was surprised lol. Historically, the Bills neglect the OL. They traded away Glenn. That was bad but Jason Peters?????? Imo he is a first ballot hall of famer player. They passed on all world blockers to draft Leodis McKelvin. The Bills skipped right past great QBs and blockers in order to draft RBs and dbs, and that includes this regime as you well know. In any event yes, the Bills have used some picks on blockers. However, none were first round picks and many of them were awful. They focus on DBs, and have since Levy. It has never worked and never will. Thanks once again for the dialogue. -

I agree 100% with the above!!! The Bills have all this money in free agency and that is great, but if we continue to ignore key positions such as the Offensive Line in the draft, chances are that we will not get out of the miserable rut in the foreseeable future. Blockers, especially OTs are hard to get in trades or free agency, unless you are dealing with the Bills. We all know that Allen is talented. Fine thanks, but he needs protection and he needs weapons. I am well aware that teams cannot click on every draft pick, but if we could just find good players to surround our QB with, why shouldn't we win? -
Week 17 -- rooting for a win or loss?
Bill from NYC replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I want a win, I would be 100% OK with a loss. That said, we long time Bills Fans know deep down that the Bills are going to win, gain nothing, and get a worse draft pick. -
Clay told he will be released this offseason?
Bill from NYC replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure where you are going with this. Other than well wishes, do we owe him something?
