Is Dion Dawkins better at LT or LG
Bill from NYC replied to RPbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Williams has perfect feet and technique. He can roll out and pull very well. In his first year he played RT and was great on running downs in a completely different offense. He is also a very smart kid. Is he big and strong enough to be a star NFL LT? I am not sure yet. His combine numbers will be telling. Even without seeing his combine stats, I predict that his floor will be that of a better Andy Levitre, who also played LT in college and imo was a terrific player for a while. I think that Williams would be a pro bowl level guard, but what do I know? -

Dawkins is good but you are totally correct. He is not on the same planet with Jason Peters. Imo the most interesting (not the best) player in this draft is Jonah Williams who might be similar in some ways to Dawkins. I will get into this more as the draft approaches. -
The above makes perfect sense.

It is cool to see that Birmingham is playing at Legion Field. I think that The Iron has 10 players from Alabama. At least a couple of them rarely got a chance to play in Tuscaloosa. One that I know of was a udfa who got injured. I am really glad to see them get another chance to compete.

Prospects mocked to Buffalo in R1

Same here and I must admit that the draft process does continue to amaze me. I have lived through SO many yet I still find them hard to fully grasp. I know that you liked the Watkins trade more than I did but I will never know how an owner could give a GM like Whaley license to trade away our best resources, under any circumstances. It was obvious that Whaley had zero self control. Also, it amazes me that ALL teams passed on Foster and Wallace. I was positive that they would be drafted.....not early mind you. Wallace was a bit too skinny and perhaps even a half step slower than ideal, but he was a tremendously hard worker at Alabama. Other players (including Ridley who practiced against him) talked about this. Foster didn't see much playing time but Bama was MUCH more of a running team than they are now, and his blazing speed was evident. We really lucked out getting him because he has a lot of room to get even better with experience and has fresh legs. Which was worse, that or Levy/Jauron in rounds 1-4 in 2006. He actually traded UP wind up with that garbage. -

Which non-Bills draft pick stung the most?

In 2008, the Bills had Pick #11. They chose Leotis Mc Kelvin. The Bills were as usual, in desperate need of blocking and went for a db. Par for the course of stupidity. The next player selected was LT Ryan Clady. The truth is that I didn't know much about him. I was screaming for Branden Albert, and was under the impression that he would be an all time great guard. Well not only was he a great guard, he actually made the rare transition of moving from guard to left tackle and was highly successful there as well. In 2003, the Bills once again had a horrible offensive line and picked at #23. I was hoping for Eric Steinbach, a totally solid guard. The Bills chose Willis Magahee. He was a good player but the Bills had to wait a full season plus 4 games to see him due to a very serious injury. That's right.....20 games. Steinbach was taken with the 1st pick in round 2 by the Bengals and was an excellent left guard for years. There is no way that a fan like me should ever be better at drafting players than an NFL GM. Not ever and it happened year after freaking year. Teenage kids with a copy of NFL Weekly could select better players than the Bills drafted. -

Don't you think it also gets crazy when you are a huge fan of a pro AND a college team? I know how much you like Miami, and I believe that you are far more acquainted with that team than most sportswriters are. I don't place myself in such a class, but I follow the Crimson Tide to the extent that I feel confident that I do have a fairly good idea of the talent level of their players. For instance, I was on this board heaping praise upon Foster and Wallace before they ever played 1 snap for the Bills. I was also not at all pleased when they drafted Kouandjio. I am currently getting a post ready with my views on this incoming class from Alabama. I am going back and forth on a couple of players and will be influenced by the combines on several of them. It seems like a waste of time and it probably is, but for years I have watched the Bills completely screw up draft after draft. I have always thought that if the Bills could just click on a few drafts, they could win football games and kick ass in the playoffs. Imo we have a chance now because of Josh. I hope that McBeane cares about protecting him. GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Democratic 2020 Presidential Primary Thread

Very interesting take. I don't completely agree but you raise good points. What I think that you overlook in this post however is globalism. Trump is not on the "inside" with folks like Obama, Merkel, Hillary, etc. Neither is Putin and I believe this accounts for the BS Russian investigation. It is also a fact that a great many of Obama's elitist white voters went that way to prove to themselves and others that they are not racists. Many of them live in ultra rich, segregated neighborhoods and send their little darlings to segregated private schools, but; a vote for Obama eradicates all white guilt for many rich hypocrites. -

Oh, the guy who wanted Jewish bakers arrested if they refused to sell cakes with pictures of Auschwitz? That Gary Johnson? These people are extremely mentally ill. Seriously. -

You make sense but this would fail to satisfy the most radical elements of the party which now dominate it. And, let's be honest. Look at the lunatics running NY, Cal. and now VA. Do you find these people to be centrist, or in any way normal? -
If Edmunds is more suited to be a pass rusher than a MLB, it occurs to me that if the Bills draft a good MLB, they would in essence be gaining a pass rusher (Edmunds) by doing so. I don't know of any college MLBs other than Mack Wilson. Mack is a very good player, really solid but imo considerably less talented than Reuben Foster was but without the issues.

Irv Smith is very good. I also like Jace Sternberger from Texas A&M.

BB my friend.....don't go so far out on a limb! Sorry Brother, couldn't resist. Thank you. Parcells and Belichick against Levy is like putting Mike Tyson in the ring against a second grade girl.
