  1. The pick we used was in return for Jason Peters, the best blocker in the history of the Bills. I think that we are safe in saying that Wood for Peters was a horrible trade.
  2. I disagree with the above. I always viewed Wood as a good but not all that great center. I also think that he was overpaid but I can't blame the Bills for doing so considering the lack of resources they dedicated to the OL. The trade that brought him here explains it all.
  3. Oh yeah.....but Jalen Waddle is only a sophomore. If healthy, he too will be a bona fide superstar. He is actually faster than Jeudy. Henry Ruggs is faster than all of them (by a step.....he and Waddle had a race) and could possibly the fastest kid in the NCAA. Do watch Davonta Smith (#6). He will probably be the "sleeper" of the group. The kid is going to be a smashing success in the NFL imo if he can stay healthy.
  4. Interesting idea. I wonder if this would even change the way some coaches approach the games. If Ralph was the owner, I really don't think he would risk paying out the extra money.
  5. That would not surprise me. Others disagree but I think it was a very stupid trade under the circumstances.
  6. I fully agree. Just another case of a player who was "good" but didn't result in all that many wins, AND he is an old running back. This imo is not a recipe for success or a constructive place to shell out the big bucks. It was time for him to go and for the Bills to spend more wisely. I do agree Promo and even if he did become our "face," how many games did we win? There are younger, cheaper players who I would rather have on the Bills at this point in time.
  7. All I know is something, like a bird within her sang, All I know she sang a little while, and then flew off. Tell me....all that you know, I'll show you, Snow and rain.
  8. I am thinking that few if any of you saw it but I'm going to run with "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn." Supposedly it is based on a true story (the author is one of the characters), and the book and movie are said to depict the struggles and poverty of the "lower class" in that era of New York City.
  9. Obviously, we are either going to make the playoffs or not. McDermott has been here long enough for the Bills to be capable of having a winning record in a not so strong division. Injuries are another matter but if Josh stays healthy and we can't play well, I think that it is time to take a close look at McBeane and the "process." Jmo.
  10. The dialogue between BV and you was excellent; thank you both for this. I do however suspect that you are wrong wrt the last sentence. Imo, if the Bills are any good at all, they should win AT LEAST 4 divisional games, and I almost typed 5. Brady is great, blah blah blah but he is also 80 years old. As one ages, injuries are more frequent and they linger. The Jets seem to lack defense and their QB is as young as ours. The Dolphins are intentionally tanking the season imo. The above should leave the door open for 10 or more wins with a healthy Josh Allen. Will they win 10? None of us know but at some point we need to see results from this "process" and make/hear less excuses. Jmo.
  11. The good news is that both ILBs did a very good job in their opening game, considering that the Tide lost both starters. Both are freshman and HUGE hitters. In the "more of the same" department, Jerry Jeudy was off the charts great. He was making moves after the catch that I have never seen before. If this kid can stay healthy he is going to rip the NFL corners apart. Yes, he is THAT good. And again, keep an eye on Devonta Smith. I get the feeling that he will be there when the Bills draft, but only because this is a totally outstanding group of WRs coming out in 2020.
  12. Initially I thought this, but; it was as if he continued to develop and improve for years. I can only imagine how good he would have been had he been surrounded by better players, or even if his teams had better offenses to give the defense a break.
  13. I don't think that they will, and I must say that I am unsure that I would want them to.
  14. OK, sure. I am going to let it die. I don't want to receive warning points, and/or a vicious verbal warning from one of the mods.
  15. Never mind Coach. I accept your slur and will not respond. Go ahead, make this thread about politics and insults. You are probably very frustrated, but I have always looked forward to and respected your posts about and knowledge of football. Sorry about that.
  16. Do you think that politics belong in this thread, or are you really just trying to bait me into a fruitless argument?
  17. Btw, this is a great thread Virgil!!!! Thanks. I hope that it doesn't get tarnished by lame political rants.
  18. Sadly, this is tough to argue with.
  19. I couldn't agree more but remember.....we were young.
  20. It took me longer than it should have to let go of Rob Johnson. I was flat out mesmerized by his skillset. He was big, could run like a deer, had a great arm, and was very accurate. The only thing that he didn't do well was play football.
  21. Nice! I was bracing for an attack.
  22. But we are not 100% sure of this, ya know; especially if his old ass is sitting on the bench injured.
  23. Thank you for a brave post. I vehemently disagree with 4,5, and especially 7 but I got your back every day on #1.
  24. When will the Bills just get rid of Shady? How long must they hold on? If he has any trade value they should move along from a replaceable, 9 million dollar, old, perhaps brittle running back before he falls apart and is worthless.
  25. It almost sounds like the era around 1997. The Bills had a GREAT defense! I mean absolutely stacked with fantastic, talented, smart players. The offense consisted of no blocking, no quarterback, a young Moulds and rapidly aging Thurman and Andre. It was SO bad that even their great defense would get gassed and we would of course lose. Could this be the year to break the mold? I really think so but it really hinges 100% on Josh imo. I wish he had better receivers but lets see what happens.
