Prediction for the Bills this season
Bill from NYC replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am going to run with 8-8. I wanted to go higher but I just can't with the possible OL problems. If the OL is healthy I might go as high as 11-5. It matters just that much imo. What odds? -
Thanks once again for this!

Why do that? You might get arrested for another domestic incident that is completely not your fault, right? Have you finished paying off your lawyer for the last one?

Time to move? I'm just asking.....

What non-QB injury would hurt the Bills the most?
Bill from NYC replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As exciting as he is to watch, I really don't want to see him run so much and take hits. It is amazing what he can do on the ground but he will get killed if he keeps it up. I respect the fact that McBeane tried to help the kid out with blocking because when it comes to Allen, the OL actually worries me more than the possible lack of receivers. I once heard Bill Parcells say that it was easier to find good receivers in the draft than a good guard. -

Dawkins. Morse is already questionable. There is little reason for optimism if Allen has to play behind a piss poor offensive line. -
Why is a murderer on the WOF?

How would you feel if he was only arrested for the burglary? Again, please understand that if I owned the team he would be taken down. -

If I owned the Buffalo Bills, he would be taken down. That said, a poster raised the point about the not guilty verdict and it is a good one. As for jail terms on civil rights cases, my thing is this: A jury found OJ to be not guilty. I don't believe in double jeopardy and do not think that he should have done time. I also apply this theory to the cops in the Rodney King case. All of the above appeared to me to be guilty mind you. I just have an issue with being found not guilty by a jury and still doing time. This is jmo, and I completely expect others to disagree. I am NOT trying to sway anyone, and I respect your opposing views. The is simply an opinion. -
Mitch Morse in concussion protocol
Bill from NYC replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where did you grow up? When I was 15 in Queens, the school actually sponsored a full contact flag football league on cement, with no pads, helmets, or protection of any kind. This in freezing cold winters. They let us warm up at halftime in the locker room. I must admit that I loved it but looking back, it was crazy. -
Wow EIL! If only you knew..... There is to much here to respond you but I ask you to just consider the possibility that folks, and I mean good people in horrible neighborhoods, are purposely held down by a lot of poverty pimp politicians. Often poor conditions are in their political interest. Look at Baltimore. Look at the horrid conditions in NYC Housing Projects. Weren't there 39 shooting in Chicago over THIS weekend? Who runs these cities? Of course there are bad cops but politicians are doing the bulk of the damage and cops are often the political footballs.

Sounds great. Any suggestions as to how? There are candidates for president calling cops racist in debates. I'm thinking that this might not help communities get safer, but what do I know?

Why were people of color excluded? Seriously, what is wrong with the DNC? Do they really not know how bad this looks?

No doubt, but that seems to matter less these days. Look, Clemson is great. Absolutely stacked. I make no excuses for Alabama losing to them. Still, the truth is that they waltz into the playoffs year after year because they don't play anybody. As an OSU Fan, you know this. After a brutal game with Michigan, both teams are banged up and nursing injuries and OSU plays several good teams. Alabama had to play Georgia twice one season. They play LSU and Auburn every year. Saban says that it is practically impossible to get out of conference teams to play them and they STILL have a 10x rougher schedule than Clemson. My point to all of this is that it seems easier these days to waltz into the playoffs having played nobody who is any good. How was ND's schedule last year, and what would their record have been in the Big 10 or the SEC? -

I don't know how good Miss. State is this season but they play them too, and they end the season with Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher. I am NOT saying that they won't make the playoffs. I am merely saying that imo, the schedule is horrible. -

They look strong but have you seen their schedule? It is absolutely brutal. -
The above is EXTREMELY important imo. It is easier in almost every case for an offensive linemen to run block than pass block. Blockers know the count and on running plays they can fire out and punish defenders. On passing downs blockers are often backing up and getting hit by genetic mutants. And if an all world lineman like Bruce Smith gets you off balance even for a fraction of a second, your quarterback is toast. I was lucky enough to met and had a 20 -30 minute conversation with Jumbo Elliot and he told me this. He wasn't physically afraid of Bruce. He had no reason to be. He coached Jason Peters briefly and when I mentioned how strong Jason was, he implied that he was stronger. Maybe he was. But he did say that he was afraid of Bruce wiping out his qb if he had even the slightest chance to do so. So yes, imo a running attack is still vital and might grow in importance with defenses getting smaller. I hope that this works FOR the Bills.
